Breeding in Palworld runs on cake — no cake in the Breeding Farm's chest, no egg. But the game now has **five different cakes**, and the fancy ones do a lot more than feed the lovebirds: twin eggs, easier mutations, better passive inheritance. Here's every cake, what it actually does, and what it costs to bake.

## Every Cake Compared

Each cake tier targets a different breeding goal, so the one to bake depends on what you're chasing: Vegetable Cake at Tech 47 doubles your egg output per session, the Extravagant version at 60 fishes for mutations, and Special Cake at 74 is the passive-inheritance tool for endgame breeding lines. Plain Cake stays relevant forever as the cheap default that simply gets eggs made.

All five go in the same Breeding Farm chest — the difference is what the resulting egg gets:

## Which Cake Should You Bake?

For casual breeding, the plain [Cake](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cake) does the job. Chasing perfect passives for an endgame squad? The [Special Cake](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cake05) is the one — better odds of the egg inheriting **multiple passive skills** from its parents, which is exactly what you want when pairing up combos from the [breeding calculator](https://palworld-db.com/breeding). The [Vegetable Cake](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cake03)'s **two eggs at once** is the best value for mass-hatching sessions, and the [Extravagant Vegetable Cake](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cake04) is your mutation hunter.

> **Tip.** Every cake needs Flour, and most want Milk, Eggs and Honey — all ranch produce. A [Farming Pal](https://palworld-db.com/best-pals/farming) lineup of Mozzarina, Chikipi and Beegarde on a Ranch keeps the cake pipeline running itself.
