Whether that trade is worth it depends on how often you get hit versus how hard — plenty of players stay in Plasteel until Ancient Armor settles the question for good. ## Hot and Cold Variants: How to Choose Almost every armor tier ships in a heat-resistant and a cold-resistant version alongside the base model, and they track the base tier's defense exactly — Cold Resistant Plasteel matches Heat Resistant Plasteel at 400 defense, and both Ancient variants sit at 840. So the choice is purely about destination: volcano and desert trips want the Heat line, the frozen north wants Cold, and the base versions' modest Cold 1/Heat 1 coverage handles temperate zones.
