Some partner skills are cute little bonuses. These seven flat-out change how you play. Between damage buffs that double your Pal's stats, a full-party heal that undoes a boss nuke, and a skill that copies passives onto everything you catch, this is the shortlist worth building a party around. Every number below is the max-level (Lv 5) value — the rank-by-rank breakdown is further down. For the complete list of all 288, hit the [full partner skills database](https://palworld-db.com/partner-skills).

## The 7 Best Partner Skills at a Glance

These seven earn their slots for very different reasons — three are raw combat multipliers (Knocklem's self-buff is the single biggest number in the game), two make you personally hit harder, and the last two are pure economy: Smokie triples Chromium hauls and Yakumo clones its own passives onto fresh catches. The sections below break down where each one comes from and what it costs to rank up.

| Pal | Partner Skill | What It Does at Lv 5 |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Knocklem](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem) | Steel Guardian Mode | Activate to boost Knocklem's Attack and Defense by **200%** for a while |
| [Orserk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/orserk) | Ferocious Thunder Dragon | Every bullet you land buffs your fighting Pal's Attack and Defense by **5%**, stacking up to 30 times — that's **+150%** |
| [Solenne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/solenne) | Untainted Maiden | **+80%** to your own Attack while every Pal in your party is a different species |
| [Lyleen](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lyleen) | Harvest Goddess | Restores **90%** of the Health of you and your party Pals on activation |
| [Celesdir Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/celesdir-noct) | Blessing of Chaos | Your fighting Pal slowly bleeds Health in exchange for **+80%** Attack |
| [Smokie](https://palworld-db.com/pal/smokie) | Dig, Smokie! Dig! | Sniffs out nearby Chromium and boosts how much you collect by **+200%** |
| [Yakumo](https://palworld-db.com/pal/yakumo) | Birds of a Feather | **30%** chance that Pals you catch come with the same passives as your Yakumo |

## Combat Buffs: Knocklem, Orserk and Solenne

### Knocklem — Steel Guardian Mode

[Knocklem](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem) is the simplest power spike on this list: pop Steel Guardian Mode and it gains **200% Attack and 200% Defense** at Lv 5 until the effect runs out, then you wait on the cooldown and do it again. The fire variant [Knocklem Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem-ignis) runs Iron Guardian Mode, which is the same idea but slightly stronger — **210%** to both stats at Lv 5. Both versions spawn on the Palpagos Islands and the World Tree, so you can grab one long before endgame — check [Knocklem's spawn spots on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=WingGolem).

### Orserk — Ferocious Thunder Dragon

[Orserk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/orserk) turns your gun into a buff machine. With Orserk in your party, every bullet that hits an enemy raises the Attack and Defense of the Pal fighting alongside you by **5%** for 5 seconds — and it stacks up to **30 times**. Keep firing and your active Pal sits at **+150% Attack and Defense** for the whole fight. Orserk only spawns on the World Tree map, so this one's an endgame pickup — here's [exactly where Orserk spawns](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=ThunderDragonMan).

### Solenne — Untainted Maiden

[Solenne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/solenne) is the pick for players who'd rather shoot things themselves. Untainted Maiden boosts **your own Attack by 80%** at Lv 5, as long as every Pal in your party is a different species. That one condition is easy to meet and the payoff is huge for weapon builds — pair it with something from the [top of the gun rankings](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-guns-ranked) and you're doing boss-melting damage in your own hands. Like Orserk, Solenne is a [World Tree spawn](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=MonochromeQueen).

## The Team-Saver: Lyleen

[Lyleen](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lyleen)'s Harvest Goddess is the best panic button in the game — activate it and it restores **90% of max Health** to you and your party Pals at Lv 5. That's a wipe turned into a win, once per cooldown. The dark version, [Lyleen Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lyleen-noct), heals even harder with Goddess of the Tranquil Light: **95%** at Lv 5. Both queens live on the World Tree map — [Lyleen spawns here](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=LilyQueen).

## High Risk, High Reward: Celesdir Noct

[Celesdir Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/celesdir-noct)'s Blessing of Chaos trades Health for damage: while it's in your party, your fighting Pal gradually loses Health but gains **+80% Attack** at Lv 5. It's a build-around skill — you want healing or lifesteal to offset the drain — but the ceiling is enormous when it works. Celesdir Noct doesn't roam the wild as a regular spawn; it's a **level 79 Alpha boss**, so bring an endgame team ([all Alpha boss locations and levels](https://palworld-db.com/alpha-pals)). Bonus: it's also a mount, with its saddle at Tech Lv 78.

## Utility Kings: Smokie and Yakumo

### Smokie — Dig, Smokie! Dig!

[Smokie](https://palworld-db.com/pal/smokie) is the Chromium dog. Craft Smokie's Harness (Tech Lv 58) and its partner skill marks nearby Chromium deposits while boosting how much you actually collect by **+200%** at Lv 5. If you're farming Chromium for late-game crafts, Smokie in the party is a straight-up doubling of your haul — and it's [extremely common in the wild](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=BlackPuppy), so catching one is trivial.

### Yakumo — Birds of a Feather

[Yakumo](https://palworld-db.com/pal/yakumo) might be the most quietly broken Pal in the game for breeders and collectors. With Yakumo fighting alongside you (or ridden — its saddle unlocks at Tech Lv 41), Pals you capture have a **30% chance at Lv 5** to come with the same passive skills as your Yakumo. Catch a Yakumo, breed the passives you want onto it, and suddenly every capture is a chance at a pre-built mon. It stacks beautifully with a [proper breeding program](https://palworld-db.com/breeding).

## Partner Skill Power at Every Rank

Partner skills level from 1 to 5 by feeding duplicate Pals into a **Pal Essence Condenser** ([see it in the structures database](https://palworld-db.com/structures)). Here's exactly what each of these seven gains per rank, so you know what the grind buys you:

| Pal | Effect | Rank 1 | Rank 2 | Rank 3 | Rank 4 | Rank 5 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Knocklem](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem) | Attack & Defense boost | 50% | 75% | 110% | 150% | **200%** |
| [Knocklem Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem-ignis) | Attack & Defense boost | 60% | 85% | 120% | 160% | **210%** |
| [Orserk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/orserk) | Buff per bullet hit (×30 stacks) | 1% | 2% | 3% | 4% | **5%** |
| [Solenne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/solenne) | Player Attack boost | 30% | 40% | 50% | 60% | **80%** |
| [Lyleen](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lyleen) | Party Health restored | 80% | 82% | 84% | 86% | **90%** |
| [Lyleen Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lyleen-noct) | Party Health restored | 85% | 87% | 89% | 91% | **95%** |
| [Celesdir Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/celesdir-noct) | Attack boost (drains Health) | 40% | 50% | 60% | 70% | **80%** |
| [Smokie](https://palworld-db.com/pal/smokie) | Chromium collection boost | 100% | 110% | 130% | 160% | **200%** |
| [Yakumo](https://palworld-db.com/pal/yakumo) | Passive copy chance on capture | 15% | 18% | 21% | 24% | **30%** |

> **Tip.** Condensing to Rank 5 takes a lot of duplicates, so prioritize: **Yakumo** and **Smokie** pay for themselves fastest since their skills work outside combat all day, while the jump from Rank 4 to 5 is biggest on **Solenne** (60% → 80%) and **Smokie** (160% → 200%).
