# Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor Schematic Location and Stats

Where the Legendary Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor schematic drops in Palworld — the seven Sakurajima chest, enemy camp, oil rig, dig and fishing routes, why no supply drop and no Pal carries it, the 400 defence stat card at Tech Lv 54, and the full 495-material craft.

**Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor** unlocks at Technology Lv 54 with 400 defence, 1,300 HP and 18,000 durability — the armor that gets you through the Snowfields and onto Sakurajima without swapping gear every hour. Its Legendary schematic is odd among armor schematics though, because the entire Plasteel family sits outside the supply-drop system and outside every Pal loot table, so it only comes out of chests, camps, rigs, digs and fishing spots. This guide covers the full stat card, all seven of those routes, the Drafting Table math, and what 30 Plasteel plus 30 Pal Metal Ingot really costs in raw materials.

## Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor Stats

The number people expect to be big here isn't. **400 defence** is only 15 more than the plain [Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmor) three tech levels below it, and the HP bonus and durability are identical at 1,300 and 18,000. What you're actually paying for is the resistance line: **Cold 2 · Heat 1 · Ice damage reduction**, where the plain body gives Cold 1 and Heat 1 and no elemental cut at all. Treat the +15 defence as a rounding error and the cold rating as the reason to build it.

| Stat | Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor |
| --- | --- |
| Slot | Body armor |
| Defence | **400** |
| HP bonus | **1,300** |
| Durability | **18,000** |
| Weight | 35 |
| Resistances | **Cold 2** · Heat 1 · Ice damage reduction |
| Technology level | **Lv 54**, 5 Technology Points |
| Earlier in the line | [Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmor) at Tech Lv 51 |
| Crafting station | Production Assembly Line II (unlocks at Lv 42) |
| Crafting work | 400,000 |
| Legendary schematic | [Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_5) |
| Item value | 160,200 Gold |

Armor defence only means something measured against other armor, so read 400 against the body slot rather than against any weapon's attack number. On the cold ladder it sits third: 150 clear of [Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealArmorCold) at 250, and 200 behind [Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFArmorCold) at 600 ten tech levels later. The durability figure is the quiet win — **18,000 against Pal Metal's 10,000** — and it's carried at 35 weight instead of 40, so this is the tier where the armor stops eating your carry capacity and stops needing constant repair trips.

## Where the Legendary Schematic Drops

Here is the whole situation in one sentence: **no supply drop stocks it and no Pal drops it**. Plasteel is the only armor tier in the game missing from both systems entirely, which means there is no percentage to quote and no fixed pin to farm. What there is instead is a set of **seven loot pools**, six of them shared by every rarity in the line and the seventh — tier 4 treasure map digs — kicking in from Schematic 2 upward.

| Schematic | Crafts | Supply drops | Pal drop | Loot pools |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Schematic 1](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_2) | Uncommon | None | None | **6** |
| [Schematic 2](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_3) | Rare | None | None | **7** |
| [Schematic 3](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_4) | Epic | None | None | **7** |
| [Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_5) | **Legendary** | None | None | **7** |

That table has an upside hiding in it. Because every rarity shares the same pools, **a Legendary is not locked behind a deeper tier of content than an Uncommon** — the crate that could hand you Schematic 1 is the same crate that could hand you Schematic 4. On lines like the [Hexolite cold armor](https://palworld-db.com/guides/cold-resistant-hexolite-armor-legendary-schematic), the Legendary is a 0.07% roll off a pool you've already exhausted. Here you're just opening the same containers and hoping. Every schematic in the game also shares one rolled-scroll model in your bag, so the rarity border is the only visual difference between those four — which is why the pictures on this page are of the armor and its materials wherever we can manage it.

### The Seven Routes, Ranked

Six of the seven are on **Sakurajima or the Dark Island**, and that's the practical headline: this is a schematic you collect while doing Sakurajima content, not one you make a special trip for. **Enemy camps are the route to build a loop around**, because a camp has both a boss stash and ordinary camp loot in its pool — two rolls per clear — and camps respawn. Chest runs are the volume option, and the fishing entries are the ones almost nobody checks.

| Route | Where | Map | Why it ranks here |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Enemy camp boss stashes** | Sakurajima | [58 enemy camps](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=camp) | **Two rolls per clear** with the loot below, and camps come back |
| Enemy camp loot | Sakurajima | [58 enemy camps](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=camp) | The ordinary pool in the same camp — free second chance |
| Treasure chests | Sakurajima | [68 chest pins](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=chest_sakurajima) | The densest fixed-pin route on the island |
| Crates on the oil rigs | Offshore | [185 oil field pins](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=oilfield) | Top-grade crate pool, but you fight the rig's defenders for it |
| Treasure map digs (tier 4) | Anywhere | — | Needs a tier 4 map — and **not in the Schematic 1 pool** |
| Fishing | Sakurajima | [102 rare fishing spots](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=fishing_rare) | The one nobody runs; zero combat, fully passive |
| Fishing | Dark Island | [201 Dark Island chests nearby](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=chest_darkisland) | Same pool on the harder island — pair it with a chest sweep |

Two of those deserve a second look. **Fishing is the only zero-risk route on the list** and it's in the pool for all four rarities, so if you're already sitting at a spot for materials you're passively rolling for the schematic. And the **Dark Island entry means you don't have to be on Sakurajima at all** — if you're already deep into Dark Island chest runs for the [Hexolite cold armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFArmorCold) line, you're rolling for this one at the same time. The full pin sets for every one of those layers are on the [Palworld interactive map](https://palworld-db.com/map).

### Why There's No Boss and No Supply Drop

It's worth stating plainly, because players lose whole evenings to this: **camping supply drops for a Plasteel schematic will never work**. Seven armor families appear across the eight regional supply tables — Pelt, Metal, Refined Metal, Pal Metal, Hexolite, Ancient and the plain Cloth line — and Plasteel is not one of them. Snow drops stock Pal Metal, Dark Island drops stock Hexolite, and nothing anywhere stocks Plasteel.

| Cold armor | Tech | Supply drop regions | Boss source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientArmorCold) | 77 | Yes | — |
| [Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFArmorCold) | 64 | Dark Island | — |
| [Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmorCold) | **54** | **None** | **None** |
| [Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealArmorCold) | 50 | Snowfields · Sakurajima | — |
| [Cold Resistant Refined Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronArmorCold) | 41 | Desert · Mount Obsidian | [Menasting](https://palworld-db.com/pal/menasting) at 3% |
| [Cold Resistant Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperArmorCold) | 27 | Yes | — |
| [Cold Resistant Pelt Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/FurArmorCold) | 18 | Yes | — |
| [Tundra Outfit](https://palworld-db.com/item/ClothArmorCold) | 9 | Yes | — |

Only **five armor schematics in the whole game** have a Pal source, all of them Legendary at a flat 3%, and none of them are Plasteel: the Cloth Outfit off [Chillet](https://palworld-db.com/pal/chillet), Metal Armor off [Kingpaca](https://palworld-db.com/pal/kingpaca), the Refined Metal cold and heat suits off [Menasting](https://palworld-db.com/pal/menasting) and [Astegon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/astegon), and Lightweight Hexolite off [Paladius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/paladius). If you want a repeatable boss pin for cold gear, the [Refined Metal cold armor](https://palworld-db.com/guides/cold-resistant-refined-metal-armor-legendary-schematic) thirteen tech levels earlier is the only one that exists. [Every Alpha Pal and its multipliers](https://palworld-db.com/alpha-pals) is on the Alpha database.

### How the Rest of the Plasteel Set Compares

Four of the five Plasteel schematics share the exact same seven pools, and one doesn't. **Lightweight Plasteel is the outlier with only three sources** — no Sakurajima chests, no ordinary camp loot, no fishing at all — which makes it meaningfully rarer than the cold suit despite sitting one tech level higher. If you're running Sakurajima loot anyway, the cold and heat bodies are the two that will actually turn up.

| Legendary schematic | Tech | Loot pools | Missing routes |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_5) | **54** | **7** | — (full set) |
| [Heat Resistant Plasteel Armor Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorHeat_5) | 53 | **7** | — (full set) |
| [Plasteel Armor Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmor_5) | 51 | **7** | — (full set) |
| [Plasteel Helmet Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticHelmet_5) | 51 | **7** | — (full set) |
| [Lightweight Plasteel Armor Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorWeight_5) | 55 | **3** | Chests, camp loot, **both fishing pools** |

One consequence worth planning around: because five different Plasteel schematic lines all sit in the same Sakurajima pools, **each individual line is diluted**. A camp stash that could pay a cold schematic could equally pay the helmet, the plain body or the heat version — so expect to see the set fill in roughly together rather than to see one line complete quickly. That's an argument for banking every Plasteel schematic you find regardless of which variant it is, since the Drafting Table only combines like with like and you'll want a full ladder on whichever line rolls hot.

## Build It Instead: The Drafting Table Ladder

The **Drafting Table** unlocks at Technology Lv 45 for 4 Technology Points and merges **five identical schematics into one of the next rarity up**. The Plasteel cold line supports the full ladder with no missing rungs, and with no boss shortcut and no supply-drop percentage to chase, combining is a far more serious plan here than it is on the Refined Metal armors. The good news on timing: the table arrives at Lv 45 and the armor at Lv 54, so by the time you can craft the suit you've had nine levels of banking.

| Target | Combine cost | Equivalent in Schematic 1s |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Schematic 2](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_3) | 5× [Schematic 1](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_2) | 5 |
| [Schematic 3](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_4) | 5× [Schematic 2](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_3) | 25 |
| [Schematic 4 (Legendary)](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_5) | 5× [Schematic 3](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PlasticArmorCold_4) | **125** |

125 Schematic 1s is the paper worst case and on most armor lines that's a reason not to bother. Here it's the actual route, because the alternative is an unknown roll out of a shared pool with four other Plasteel lines competing for the same slot. **Combine only at the top of the ladder** — bank Schematic 3s until you're holding five — and resist spending Uncommons early, because those are the rolls you'll want back when a lucky Epic lands and you're one short. Remember tier 4 digs sit outside the Schematic 1 pool, so digs feed the middle of the ladder rather than the bottom. The table costs 30 [Charcoal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Charcoal), 20 [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) and 10 [High Quality Wooden Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/HighGrade_Processed_Wood); the [schematic upgrade guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-upgrade-schematics) has the full rules.

> **Tip.** Craft the Common version the day you hit Tech 54 and stop waiting on a rarity roll. Every tier of this armor gives the identical **Cold 2** rating — rarity moves defence, HP and durability, never the temperature protection — so a Common Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor you're wearing tonight beats a Legendary schematic sitting in a Sakurajima crate you haven't opened. And since the schematic pools are Sakurajima and Dark Island content you'd be running anyway, the honest plan is to build the suit now and let the paper find you.

## How to Craft Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor

Four materials on the **Production Assembly Line II** for 400,000 work. The bench is not the problem — it unlocks twelve levels before the armor does. The real gate is the **Electric Furnace** at Tech Lv 44, because it smelts both of the two big lines in this recipe, and it's the reason a Plasteel suit feels so much slower to produce than a Pal Metal one.

| Material | Qty | Made at / from |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Plasteel](https://palworld-db.com/item/Plastic) | **30** | Electric Furnace (Tech Lv 44) — 2 [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) + 5 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) each |
| [Pal Metal Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealIngot) | **30** | Electric Furnace — 4 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) + 1 [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) + 2 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) each |
| [Cryogenic Coolant](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Coolant) | **10** | Tech Lv 31 — 1 [Aquatic Pal Fluids](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalFluid) + 1 [Ice Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/IceOrgan) each |
| [High Quality Cloth](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cloth2) | 5 | Tech Lv 36 — 10 [Wool](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wool) + 1 [Leather](https://palworld-db.com/item/Leather) each |

Trace all four lines down to things you mine, shear or pull off a corpse and one suit is **495 raw units**. The line that dominates everything is **270 Ore** — 150 for the Plasteel and 120 for the ingots — which is more ore than any armor below Hexolite asks for, and the single reason to have a Mining team parked on a node cluster before you start. The 60 [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) is the second thought: it's the only material here you can't dig out of the ground, so either run an Oil Extractor or bank the 30-40 that every Sakurajima supply drop pays at 100%.

| Raw material | Total for one suit | Where to get it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) | **270** | [1,632 nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_copperore) |
| [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) | **60** | [185 oil fields](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=oilfield) · 100% from six supply regions, up to 30-40 on Sakurajima |
| [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) | **60** | [711 nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_paldiumore) |
| [Wool](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wool) | **50** | [Kingpaca](https://palworld-db.com/pal/kingpaca) 5 · [Sweepa](https://palworld-db.com/pal/sweepa) 3-5 · [Melpaca](https://palworld-db.com/pal/melpaca) 2-5, all 100% |
| [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) | 30 | [607 nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_purequartz) |
| [Ice Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/IceOrgan) | 10 | Ice Pals at 100% — see below |
| [Aquatic Pal Fluids](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalFluid) | 10 | Water Pals at 100% — see below |
| [Leather](https://palworld-db.com/item/Leather) | 5 | [Mammorest](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest) pays 5-10 at 100% |

Now the warning that actually decides how long this takes: **the work cost is not at the bench**. The armor itself is 400,000 work, but smelting 30 Plasteel is 200,000 apiece — **6,000,000 on its own** — plus 1,500,000 for the ingots, 100,000 for the coolant and 12,500 for the cloth. End to end a single suit is roughly **8 million work units, and three quarters of it is the Plasteel**. The answer is never a bigger assembly line; it's more Kindling Pals on the Electric Furnace, and starting the smelt before you go schematic hunting rather than after.

### Plasteel and Pal Metal Ingot on One Furnace

The convenient part of this recipe is that **both metal lines come off the same building**. The Electric Furnace at Tech Lv 44 smelts Plasteel and Pal Metal Ingot, so there's exactly one structure to power and one place to station your Kindling Pals. The inconvenient part is that it costs 10 [Cryogenic Coolant](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Coolant) to build, which means the Tech 31 coolant node is mandatory long before the armor recipe ever asks for it.

| Line | Per unit | Work each | Total for one suit |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Plasteel](https://palworld-db.com/item/Plastic) | 2 [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) + 5 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) | **200,000** | **6,000,000 work** |
| [Pal Metal Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealIngot) | 4 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) + 1 [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) + 2 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) | 50,000 | 1,500,000 work |
| [Cryogenic Coolant](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Coolant) | 1 [Aquatic Pal Fluids](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalFluid) + 1 [Ice Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/IceOrgan) | 10,000 | 100,000 work |
| [High Quality Cloth](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cloth2) | 10 [Wool](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wool) + 1 [Leather](https://palworld-db.com/item/Leather) | 2,500 | 12,500 work |

Read the work column and the priority order sorts itself out. **One Plasteel costs four times what one Pal Metal Ingot costs**, so if you're short on furnace time, smelt the Plasteel first and let the ingots catch up. Paldium Fragment is the material people forget they need at this tier — 60 per suit, 711 nodes on the map, and it's easy to have spent it all on spheres. Everything else about these lines is on the [Palworld items database](https://palworld-db.com/items).

### Ten Cryogenic Coolant, Fast

Ten coolant means 10 [Ice Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/IceOrgan) and 10 [Aquatic Pal Fluids](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalFluid), both of which drop at **100%** off their element — so this is purely a question of how many per kill and how easy the Pal is to find. Three or four kills on the right targets covers the whole suit, and you'll want ten more coolant for the Electric Furnace itself, so make it twenty while you're out.

| Pal | Drops | Per kill | Wild spots |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Frostallion](https://palworld-db.com/pal/frostallion) | Ice Organ | **10** | 0 — Alpha only, but one kill is the whole suit |
| [Pierdon Cryst](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pierdon-cryst) | Ice Organ | **4-5** | 50 |
| [Reptyro Cryst](https://palworld-db.com/pal/reptyro-cryst) | Ice Organ | 3-4 | **133** |
| [Bastigor](https://palworld-db.com/pal/bastigor) | Ice Organ | 2-5 | 69 |
| [Foxcicle](https://palworld-db.com/pal/foxcicle) | Ice Organ | 2-3 | **187** |
| [Suzaku Aqua](https://palworld-db.com/pal/suzaku-aqua) | Aquatic Pal Fluids | **5** | 50 |
| [Azurobe](https://palworld-db.com/pal/azurobe) | Aquatic Pal Fluids | 2-4 | **199** |
| [Faleris Aqua](https://palworld-db.com/pal/faleris-aqua) | Aquatic Pal Fluids | 2-4 | **197** |

Frostallion is the standout: **10 Ice Organ in one kill**, exactly what a suit needs, and at Tech 54 it's a fight you can plausibly take. For repeatable farming without the Alpha trip, Pierdon Cryst at 4-5 per kill is the efficient pick and Foxcicle at 187 spawn points is the convenient one. On the water side Suzaku Aqua pays a flat 5 from only 50 spots, while Azurobe and Faleris Aqua sit near 200 spots each — take whichever you trip over. Coolant is only 10,000 work apiece, so batch it and forget about it.

## Can You Even Build It Yet?

Technology Lv 54 is the headline gate, but seven supporting nodes sit underneath it and two of them need electricity. Work down this checklist before you go schematic hunting — a Legendary schematic in your bag does nothing until the furnace, the bench and the coolant chain exist to use it. All told the nodes below come to **30 Technology Points**, every one of them the ordinary kind rather than the Ancient points you pry out of tower bosses.

| Requirement | Unlocks at | Why you need it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Cryogenic Coolant](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Coolant) | Tech Lv 31, 2 points | 10 per suit — **and 10 more to build the furnace below** |
| [High Quality Cloth](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cloth2) | Tech Lv 36, 2 points | 5 per suit |
| Production Assembly Line II | Tech Lv 42, 5 points | The bench the armor is built on — 100 [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) + 30 [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) + 10 [Circuit Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2) + 5 [Corrosive Solvent](https://palworld-db.com/item/Corrosive_Solvent) |
| Electric Furnace | Tech Lv 44, 5 points | **The real gate** — both metal lines — 50 [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) + 20 [Polymer](https://palworld-db.com/item/Polymer) + 10 [Cryogenic Coolant](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Coolant) + 4 [Bio Battery](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Battery) |
| Drafting Table | Tech Lv 45, 4 points | Combining schematics upward — nine levels before the armor |
| [Plasteel](https://palworld-db.com/item/Plastic) | Tech Lv 50, 2 points | 30 per suit |
| [Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmor) | Tech Lv 51, 5 points | Not required — but it's 385 defence three levels earlier for 20 fewer raw units |
| **Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor** | **Tech Lv 54**, 5 points | The recipe itself |

Two things in that table bite people. First, the **dependency loop on coolant**: the Electric Furnace costs 10 Cryogenic Coolant to build, so the Tech 31 node is compulsory even if you never craft cold gear. Second, the row second from the bottom — at Tech 51 you can already build the plain [Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmor) for **385 defence**, fifteen short of this suit and available three levels sooner. If you're not spending time in the snow, build that and skip straight past. The full tree is on the [Palworld technology page](https://palworld-db.com/tech).

## How It Compares to Every Other Cold Armor

Eight body armors carry cold resistance and they form a clean ladder from Tech Lv 9 to Tech Lv 77. Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor sits third, and it occupies an unusually comfortable stretch of that ladder — the four tech levels between Pal Metal at 50 and Plasteel at 54 buy **+150 defence, +550 HP, +8,000 durability and 5 less weight**, which is the best value-per-level step anywhere below the Hexolite tier.

| Armor | Tech | Defence | HP | Durability | Weight | Cold |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientArmorCold) | 77 | **840** | **2,400** | **25,000** | 35 | **Cold 3** |
| [Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFArmorCold) | 64 | 600 | 1,750 | 18,000 | 35 | **Cold 3** |
| [Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmorCold) | **54** | **400** | **1,300** | 18,000 | 35 | Cold 2 |
| [Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealArmorCold) | 50 | 250 | 750 | 10,000 | 40 | Cold 2 |
| [Cold Resistant Refined Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronArmorCold) | 41 | 180 | 500 | 3,000 | 35 | Cold 2 |
| [Cold Resistant Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperArmorCold) | 27 | 105 | 250 | 1,400 | 30 | Cold 2 |
| [Cold Resistant Pelt Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/FurArmorCold) | 18 | 45 | 140 | 600 | 10 | Cold 2 |
| [Tundra Outfit](https://palworld-db.com/item/ClothArmorCold) | 9 | 25 | 70 | 300 | 4 | Cold 2 |

Read the last column before the first one. **Everything from the Tundra Outfit at Tech 9 up to this suit gives identical Cold 2 protection** — only Hexolite and Ancient reach Cold 3. Climbing the ladder never makes you warmer, it only makes you harder to kill while you're cold. If your only problem is the weather, the [Tundra Outfit](https://palworld-db.com/item/ClothArmorCold) at Tech 9 solves it for 4 weight and always will. Plasteel is where the ladder's durability finally matches the top tier too — 18,000, the same as Hexolite — so this is the last armor you'll be repairing constantly. [Every armor piece in the game](https://palworld-db.com/armor) is compared on the armor database, and the [best armor by tech level](https://palworld-db.com/guides/best-armor-by-tech-level) guide maps the whole upgrade path.

### What the Legendary Version Actually Gains

Rarity raises the crafted armor's numbers, and the [Pal Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealArmor) line is the body-armor family whose five rarity steps are all laid out in the game to be read. It climbs **220 → 286 → 308 → 330 → 352** defence and **750 → 975 → 1,050 → 1,125 → 1,200** HP, which is ×1.3, ×1.4, ×1.5 and ×1.6 of base on both stats. Pocketpair has never published the multipliers, so apply that same curve to 400 and 1,300 and treat the right-hand columns as close estimates.

| Rarity | Pal Metal Armor (measured) | HP | Plasteel Cold defence (estimated) | HP (estimated) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Common | 220 | 750 | **400** | **1,300** |
| Uncommon | 286 | 975 | ~520 | ~1,690 |
| Rare | 308 | 1,050 | ~560 | ~1,820 |
| Epic | 330 | 1,125 | ~600 | ~1,950 |
| **Legendary** | **352** | **1,200** | **~640** | **~2,080** |

**400 and 1,300 are the only certain figures in that table** — the rest is the measured line's own curve applied to this suit. What isn't in doubt is the shape, and the shape is the entire pitch. At an estimated **~640 defence**, a Legendary Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor at Tech Lv 54 would out-armor a Common [Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFArmorCold) at Tech Lv 64 — ten tech levels, a Gigantic Furnace and the whole Hexolite ore chain, skipped. Even an Epic roll at an estimated ~600 matches it exactly. Budget for the recipe growing too: Legendary versions across every family add [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) and roughly double the metal, so the schematic is the start of the job rather than the end of it.

## Cold vs the Other Plasteel Body Armors

Four body armors and one helmet make up the Plasteel set across five tech levels, and **the three variants are stat-identical at 400 / 1,300 / 18,000**. What separates them is entirely the passive line and the fourth material, which makes this a pick-by-need decision rather than a pick-by-number one. The plain body is the only one that gives up defence, and only 15 of it.

| Piece | Tech | Defence | HP | Durability | Passives | Extra material |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmor) | 51 | 385 | 1,300 | 18,000 | Cold 1 · Heat 1 | — |
| [Plasteel Helmet](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticHelmet) | 51 | 260 | 600 | 18,000 | — | — (head slot) |
| [Heat Resistant Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmorHeat) | 53 | **400** | 1,300 | 18,000 | Cold 1 · **Heat 2** · Fire cut | 20 [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) |
| [Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmorCold) | **54** | **400** | 1,300 | 18,000 | **Cold 2** · Heat 1 · Ice cut | 10 [Cryogenic Coolant](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Coolant) |
| [Lightweight Plasteel Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmorWeight) | 55 | **400** | 1,300 | 18,000 | Cold 1 · Heat 1 · **+carry weight** | 8 [Corrosive Solvent](https://palworld-db.com/item/Corrosive_Solvent) |

The cold and heat suits work out to **the same 495 raw units** — 10 coolant costs 20 raw materials, 20 Flame Organs cost 20 — so cost is not the tiebreaker. The tiebreaker is crafting steps: Flame Organ goes straight into the recipe, while coolant needs its own Tech 31 unlock and a separate bench pass, which makes the heat suit the faster of the two to throw together from scratch. Neither variant carries the other's protection, unlike at the Hexolite tier where the cold suit also gets Heat 2 — so at Plasteel you genuinely do need both if you're bouncing between the volcano and the snow. The [Lightweight](https://palworld-db.com/item/PlasticArmorWeight) version is the one to skip unless carry weight is your bottleneck, since its schematic has less than half the drop routes of the rest of the set.

## The Short Answer

There is no boss and no supply drop for this one. The Legendary Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor schematic comes out of **seven loot pools**: Sakurajima enemy camp boss stashes, ordinary Sakurajima camp loot, Sakurajima treasure chests, oil rig crates, tier 4 treasure map digs, and fishing spots on both Sakurajima and the Dark Island. Every rarity shares those pools, so **bank every tier you find** and combine five-into-one at the [Drafting Table](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-upgrade-schematics) from Tech Lv 45. Build the Common version the moment you hit **Tech Lv 54** — 270 Ore, 60 Crude Oil, 60 Paldium Fragment, 50 Wool, 30 Pure Quartz, 10 Ice Organ, 10 Aquatic Pal Fluids and 5 Leather — start the Plasteel smelting early because it's three quarters of the eight million work, and remember the Cold 2 rating is identical at every rarity, so the suit you're wearing tonight beats the schematic you haven't found.
