Zenara and [Astralym](https://palworld-db.com/pal/astralym) is the World Tree fight that sits outside Palworld's eight-tower ladder, and it behaves like a raid rather than a tower duel — a boss with no element, nothing to counter it with, and the largest health multiplier attached to any boss in the game. This guide covers the fight card, every attack in its kit, the team and passives that hold up, the gear worth bringing, and what the clear hands over.

## Zenara and Astralym at a Glance

The line that decides everything is the element row: [Astralym](https://palworld-db.com/pal/astralym) has **no element at all**, so nothing on [the element matchup chart and counter finder](https://palworld-db.com/types) gives you a bonus multiplier against it. Every other tower fight is solved by bringing the right typing — this one is not. What replaces it is raw attack, uptime and survivability, because the boss is an endurance bar rather than a puzzle. Zenara herself is the target embedded in the chest of the thing you are shooting at, which is why aim matters more here than positioning does on the rest of the ladder.

## The Numbers That Make This the Longest Fight in the Game

Put the rematch next to the rest of the ladder and the shape of the fight falls out immediately. **×405 health is nearly four times the next-largest multiplier on the board**, and at level 100 that turns Astralym's 200 base HP — the highest HP stat of any Pal — into a bar in the four-to-five-million range. At the same time it is the *gentlest* boss on the ladder in two other ways: ×5 damage dealt is the lowest of the hard set, where the rest sit between ×8 and ×13, and ×0.45 damage taken is by far the softest, where the rest keep only 10% to 25% of what you deal.

So this is not a fight that one-shots you — it is a fight you can lose to the clock. Keeping 45% of your damage against a five-million bar still means pushing somewhere near **ten million raw damage** through it, which is why every recommendation below is about sustained output and staying alive rather than burst. Full multiplier tables for all of them are on [the tower boss list](https://palworld-db.com/tower-bosses).

## Every Attack in Astralym's Kit

Eight moves, and the four Paldium ones belong to Astralym alone — no other Pal in the game learns them, by level or by fruit. Two of them are also the highest sustained damage in the entire move list: **Paldium Rain lands 500 power on a 5-second cooldown for 100 damage a second**, and Paldium Shot is second at 80. Nothing else in Palworld comes close; the next-best moves top out around 26. That is the chip damage you cannot outrun, and Paldium Rain reaches the full length of the arena, so there is no safe corner to sit in.

The heavy hits are the opposite problem — Paldium Explosion is the biggest single number at 800 power, but it only comes around once a minute, and its 13 damage a second makes it a telegraph to dodge rather than a threat to tank. Treat the long-cooldown casts as the moments you reposition and the two Paldium spam moves as the reason you need healing on tap. Every move here is also listed with its power and cooldown on [the active skills list](https://palworld-db.com/active-skills).

| Attack | Element | Power | Cooldown | Damage / sec |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Paldium Rain | None | 500 | 5s | **100** |
| Paldium Shot | None | 400 | 5s | 80 |
| Paldium Cannon | None | 700 | 20s | 35 |
| Paldium Explosion | None | 800 | 60s | 13.3 |
| Holy Burst | Neutral | 700 | 30s | 23.3 |
| Meteorain | Dragon | 700 | 30s | 23.3 |
| Dragon Meteor | Dragon | 600 | 30s | 20 |
| Rocky Impact | Ground | 600 | 30s | 20 |

## The Element Trap: Why a Dark Squad Backfires

You get no bonus damage *against* Astralym, but its kit still gets bonus damage against **you**. Two of its eight moves are Dragon, and Dragon is the counter to Dark — so the Dark-heavy roster most players default to for endgame content is exactly the one that takes extra from Meteorain and Dragon Meteor. That catches [Bellanoir](https://palworld-db.com/pal/bellanoir), [Necromus](https://palworld-db.com/pal/necromus) and [Frostallion Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/frostallion-noct), which are otherwise three of the four strongest ranged attackers in the game.

You do not have to drop them, but you should know what you are signing up for, and there are clean alternatives sitting one point of attack behind. [Neptilius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/neptilius) matches Necromus at 145 shot attack and takes a bonus from nothing in the kit. [Frostallion](https://palworld-db.com/pal/frostallion) and [Jetragon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jetragon) are equally clean — Dragon moves do not punish Dragon Pals, only Ice does. The one other line to watch is Rocky Impact: it is Ground, so leave Electric Pals at home entirely.

| Attacker | Element | Shot Attack | How its kit treats them |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Bellanoir](https://palworld-db.com/pal/bellanoir) | Dark | 150 | Highest raw attack available — but eats bonus damage from both Dragon moves |
| [Necromus](https://palworld-db.com/pal/necromus) | Dark | 145 | Rideable and hits hard; same Dragon problem |
| [Neptilius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/neptilius) | Water | 145 | Nothing in the kit gets a bonus on it — the safest heavy hitter |
| [Frostallion](https://palworld-db.com/pal/frostallion) | Ice | 140 | Clean against every move Astralym has, 140 HP to go with it |
| [Frostallion Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/frostallion-noct) | Dark | 140 | Best defense of the group at 135, but Dark again |
| [Jetragon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jetragon) | Dragon | 140 | Dragon isn't countered by Dragon — fine here, and the mobility helps |
| [Shaolong](https://palworld-db.com/pal/shaolong) | Dragon / Water | 135 | 140 HP and no bad matchup in the rotation |

## The Team That Beats It

Because there is no weakness to exploit, the team stops being about elements and becomes about two things: keeping one Pal alive on the field forever, and stacking buffs onto **your own** damage. [Felbat](https://palworld-db.com/pal/felbat) is the field slot for exactly that reason — its Life Steal partner skill converts **5% of the damage it deals into healing, rising to 9% at partner skill level 5**, and 110 defense is above average for a Pal that size. Leave it on Defensive so it is not sprinting into Paldium Rain, and accept that it is Dark: it is there to survive, not to trade.

The rest of the party exists to inflate your gun. [Solenne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/solenne) is the biggest single lever in the game for that, at **+80% to your own attack at partner skill level 5** — with the catch that every Pal in your party has to be a different species for it to apply. That catch matters here: [Gobfin](https://palworld-db.com/pal/gobfin) and [Gobfin Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/gobfin-ignis) share Paldeck slot **#55**, so running both is the obvious way to break the condition you are relying on. Pick one, and fill the gap with [Xenogard](https://palworld-db.com/pal/xenogard), which boosts energy weapon damage and happens to be a Dragon so it shrugs off half the kit.

| Pal | Slot | Why it's here |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Felbat](https://palworld-db.com/pal/felbat) | Active Pal | Life Steal heals 5% of damage dealt, 9% at skill level 5 — the only self-sustaining field slot that lasts the whole bar |
| [Solenne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/solenne) | Support | Untainted Maiden gives **+80% player attack** at level 5, as long as no two party Pals are the same species |
| [Xenogard](https://palworld-db.com/pal/xenogard) | Support | Boosts energy weapon damage, and as a Dragon it takes no bonus from Meteorain or Dragon Meteor |
| [Gobfin](https://palworld-db.com/pal/gobfin) | Support | Angry Shark raises your attack while it's out — bring one Gobfin, not both variants |
| [Necromus](https://palworld-db.com/pal/necromus) | Raid party | 145 shot attack, rideable, and the passive stack below turns it into the damage floor of the run |
| [Neptilius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/neptilius) | Raid party | The swap-in if you'd rather not feed the Dragon moves a Dark Pal |

## Passives Worth Rolling Before the Run

On a fight this long, passives are worth more than another few points of base attack, because they compound over ten million damage instead of over thirty seconds. The stack to chase is **Immortality, Serenity, Legend and Diamond Body** — that is +45% attack across three of them before any gear, plus a doubled regeneration rate and 50% more defense. Diamond Body is the sleeper: flinch and knockback immunity means your Pal keeps swinging through the AoE instead of getting bounced out of its own rotation, which on a ×405 health bar is worth more than the defense line next to it.

Rolling all four on one Pal is a project, not an afternoon — [the Pal min-maxing guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-min-max-pals) covers the IV, condensing and soul route, and [the full passive list](https://palworld-db.com/passives) has every rank-3 and rank-4 line worth keeping.

| Passive | Effect | Rank |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Immortality | Life Steal +5%, Pal auto health regeneration +100%, Attack +15% | 4 |
| Legend | Attack +20%, Defense +20%, movement speed +20% | 4 |
| Diamond Body | Defense +30%, immune to flinch, immune to knockback | 4 |
| Serenity | Active skill cooldown −30%, Attack +10% | 3 |

## Gear and Consumables to Bring

Body armour is the one slot with a clear answer: the Ancient Armor line at legendary rarity gives **1,092 defense and 3,120 HP**, against 840 defense and 2,400 HP on the standard craft and 800 on the plain [Ancient Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientArmor) at Technology 68. Which of the three variants you wear barely matters here — there is no heat or cold to resist inside the fight — so wear whichever legendary schematic you actually own. [The legendary Ancient Armor guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-legendary-ancient-armor) covers where those schematics come from, and [the armour-by-tech-level list](https://palworld-db.com/guides/best-armor-by-tech-level) has the fallbacks if you are still short.

On guns, read the ratings the right way: **attack numbers only compare inside a weapon class**, so a launcher's figure and a rifle's figure are not on the same scale. Within the rifles, the [Charge Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifle) leads on 12,500 per charged shot, while the [Plasma Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ElectricArcAssaultRifle) earns its slot on **25,000 durability and a 38-round magazine** — against a bar this size, a gun that never needs swapping mid-fight beats one that hits marginally harder. The [Beam Launcher](https://palworld-db.com/item/BeamLauncher) tops the launchers at 14,000. Full rankings sit in [the best guns tier list](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-guns-ranked).

| Gear | Type | Key numbers | Tech |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientArmorCold_5) | Body armour | 1,092 defense, 3,120 HP | 77 |
| [Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientArmorHeat_5) | Body armour | 1,092 defense, 3,120 HP | 75 |
| [Lightweight Ancient Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientArmorWeight_5) | Body armour | 1,092 defense, 3,120 HP | 79 |
| [Plasma Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ElectricArcAssaultRifle) | Assault rifle | 1,860 attack, 38 magazine, 25,000 durability | 78 |
| [Charge Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifle) | Assault rifle | 12,500 attack on the rifle scale | 65 |
| [Beam Launcher](https://palworld-db.com/item/BeamLauncher) | Rocket launcher | 14,000 attack on the launcher scale | 80 |
| [High Grade Medical Supplies](https://palworld-db.com/item/LuxuryMedicines) | Consumable | The heal you carry stacks of, not one of |

## Fight Plan

Five things decide this fight, and none of them are element choice. Work through them in order — the first two are about where your bullets go, the last three are about not losing the run to a wipe you could have prevented.

### Aim for Zenara, Not the Body

Zenara is embedded in Astralym's chest, and she is the hitbox that actually matters. Shots that land on the surrounding mass do a fraction of what a chest hit does, which is why two players with the same gear can post wildly different times. Get comfortable holding that line while the arena moves around you — on a bar this large, the difference between hitting the weak point and hitting the body is the difference between a clear and a timeout.

### Break the Wings During the Energy Draw

There is a wind-up where the boss stops attacking and pulls energy in through its wings. That is not a rest phase — it is a timer on a counterattack big enough to end an attempt. Switch targets to the wings the moment it starts and keep hitting them until the animation breaks. A flier like [Jetragon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jetragon) earns its slot here purely for getting you level with the wings quickly.

### Hold the Aggro Yourself

Your Pals do not survive direct attention from this thing, and every Pal that goes down takes its buff off your damage with it. Keep moving in the boss's line of sight so the heavy casts follow you rather than the field slot, and leave [Felbat](https://palworld-db.com/pal/felbat) on Defensive so it holds position and keeps healing off its own damage instead of walking into the next Paldium Rain.

### Expect the Phase Flip at 60%

At roughly 60% health the fight escalates — the same attacks come back augmented, with extra effects and higher damage attached. Plan your consumables around that line rather than around a fixed timer: go in with buffs already up, hold your healing for after the flip, and do not burn everything trying to rush the first 40% of a bar that runs into the millions.

### Queue a Second Raid Party

This is a raid-style encounter, so losing your front line is not the end of the attempt — but only if you have something to send in behind it. Have a backup set of raid Pals rolled and rested before you start rather than scrambling mid-fight. It is also worth dropping your graphics settings for the run: the heaviest attack animations are exactly the moments you need frames to dodge, and a stutter during Paldium Explosion costs more than any visual setting is worth.

> **Tip.** Nothing counters Astralym, but its kit still counters you — two Dragon moves punish Dark Pals and one Ground move punishes Electric Pals. If your endgame roster is the usual Dark stack, swapping one attacker for [Neptilius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/neptilius) or [Frostallion](https://palworld-db.com/pal/frostallion) costs you at most 5 points of shot attack and removes a bonus-damage line from the boss entirely.

## What Zenara and Astralym Drop

The headline reward is the [Zenara Hat](https://palworld-db.com/item/HeadEquip049), handed over on the first clear. It is a cosmetic in everything but name — **20 defense and 60 HP**, identical to the Zoe, Lily, Marcus, Victor, Saya, Bjorn and Auri hats — so it is a collection piece rather than an upgrade, and it costs a single [Cloth](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cloth) to craft once it is unlocked. The in-game text leans into that, flagging it as something only the luckiest walk away with.

The pull for most players is the [Dark Skill Fruit: Psycho Gravity](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkillCard_Psychokinesis), which teaches Psycho Gravity to any Pal regardless of its level — the same role Apocalypse plays for the [Bellanoir raid](https://palworld-db.com/guides/bellanoir-libero-raid-guide). It is one of the 93 fruits on [the skill fruit list](https://palworld-db.com/skill-fruits), and it can be replanted at the Orchard, where each harvest has a 15% chance of returning the exact fruit you planted. As a tower entry, the fight also pays Ancient Technology Points toward [the Ancient technology tree](https://palworld-db.com/tech).

| Reward | When | What it's for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Zenara Hat](https://palworld-db.com/item/HeadEquip049) | First clear | 20 defense, 60 HP headpiece — crafts from 1 Cloth once unlocked |
| [Dark Skill Fruit: Psycho Gravity](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkillCard_Psychokinesis) | Clear reward | Teaches Psycho Gravity to any Pal, ignoring level requirements |
| Ancient Technology Points | Clear reward | The currency behind Ancient Workbench gear |

## Where the Fight Is

Everything here is on the World Tree map rather than Palpagos, which is its own tab on [the interactive map](https://palworld-db.com/map?region=tree&layers=towerboss) — three boss markers sit on that map, and the fast travel point you want is Foot of the World Tree. If you are making the trip anyway, the region is worth sweeping properly: **690 loot caches, 38 treasure chests and 12 skill fruit trees** are scattered across it, and [the chest layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?region=tree&layers=chest_worldtree) and [the skill fruit layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?region=tree&layers=skillfruit) both deep-link straight to the World Tree view.

Zenara's own story is on the same map. Five of her diary pages are among the nine World Tree documents, and they read as a research log — a limbless white creature crash-lands at the base of the tree, she is assigned to study it, and by the last page Astralym is straining to hold back its energy absorption. [The journal location guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-journal-locations) has all nine, and reading them before the fight makes the encounter land very differently.

**The short version:** Astralym has no element and no weakness, so bring raw attack rather than a counter type. Its ×405 health multiplier is nearly four times anything else on the ladder, but ×5 damage dealt and ×0.45 damage taken make it the softest hitter and the least resistant of the hard bosses — this is a stamina test, not a burst check. Aim for Zenara in the chest, break the wings during the energy draw, keep [Felbat](https://palworld-db.com/pal/felbat) alive on Defensive with Solenne and a Gobfin inflating your gun, and keep Dark Pals off the field where you can.
