The Advanced Weapon Assembly Line is the fourth and final tier of the weapon bench, and it is the only place in Palworld that builds the [Charge Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifle), the [Energy Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyShotgun) and the [Overheat Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/OverheatRifle) — or a single round of ammo for any of them. This guide covers the technology level it hides behind, its three build materials and the raw ore they trace back to, the electricity it eats, every one of the 29 recipes it unlocks, and which Pal you should park on it.

## Advanced Weapon Assembly Line at a Glance

This bench is a hard gate, not a convenience upgrade. Everything the endgame gun roster is built from lives on its menu and nowhere else, so until it is standing and powered you physically cannot craft a Charge Rifle or feed one a magazine. It draws 1,000 electricity, which puts it in a five-way tie for the seventh-heaviest power draw of any structure in the game — only six structures pull more, and two of them ([Gigantic Furnace](https://palworld-db.com/structures) at 1,500 and the [Crude Oil Extractor](https://palworld-db.com/structures) at 2,000) are ones you will already be running to supply it.

## How to Unlock the Advanced Weapon Assembly Line

Reach character level 63, open the [Palworld technology tree](https://palworld-db.com/tech), and spend 5 technology points. The bench itself is the cheap part — the real bill is the prerequisite chain underneath it, because two of its three materials have their own technology entries several levels earlier. [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot) at level 62 and [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) at level 59 cost 3 points each, and neither can be made without the right station: Coralum Ingot only smelts in the Gigantic Furnace, and Thermal Core only comes off the [Production Assembly Line II](https://palworld-db.com/structures). Add the 5 points for the bench and you are 11 points deep before a single ingot exists. By level 63 you have had 497 of the game's 588 technologies offered to you, worth 1,226 points in total, so plan the spend rather than trickling it out.

| Technology at Lv. 63 | Points | Do you need it? |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Advanced Weapon Assembly Line | 5 | The bench itself |
| [Energy Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyShotgun) | 5 | Yes — the first gun the bench can actually build |
| [Energy Shotgun Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyShotgunBullet) | 1 | Yes — the gun is a paperweight without it |
| [Heat Resistant Hexolite Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFArmorHeat) | 5 | No, but it is the best heat gear on this row |
| [Ultra Grappling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/GrapplingGun5) | 5 | No — quality of life, not firepower |
| [Megaboost Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalDopingShot_2) | 3 | No |

The two guns that make this bench worth building are not on the level 63 row at all. [Overheat Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/OverheatRifle) unlocks at level 64 for 5 points and [Charge Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifle) at level 65 for another 5, with their ammo at 1 point each. Budget roughly 23 points across levels 63 to 65 if you want the full set of three guns firing.

## Build Materials and Where to Make Them

Three materials, and the 50 [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot) is the whole difficulty. Each bar is 500,000 crafting workload on its own, so that stack alone is 25,000,000 workload before you have assembled anything — and it can only be smelted at the Gigantic Furnace, which is its own level 58 unlock. The 10 [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) are the expensive ones at 12,290 gold of value apiece and they quietly drag another 20 [Corrosive Solvent](https://palworld-db.com/item/Corrosive_Solvent) and 20 [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel) into the bill. The 30 Corrosive Solvent is the only material you can knock out in an afternoon. Start the Coralum Ingot line running the moment you unlock the recipe and build everything else while it cooks.

| Material | Qty | Made at | Recipe per unit | Value each |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot) | 50 | Gigantic Furnace | 2 [Coralum Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseOre) + 5 [Coal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Coal) | 6,000 |
| [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) | 10 | Production Assembly Line II | 4 [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) + 8 [Coal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Coal) + 2 [Corrosive Solvent](https://palworld-db.com/item/Corrosive_Solvent) + 2 [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel) | 12,290 |
| [Corrosive Solvent](https://palworld-db.com/item/Corrosive_Solvent) | 30 | Production Assembly Line | 1 [Venom Gland](https://palworld-db.com/item/Venom) + 1 [Sulfur](https://palworld-db.com/item/Sulfur) | 720 |

### What It Really Costs in Raw Materials

Trace every intermediate back to something you dig, fish or kill for and the bench comes to eleven raw inputs, about 40,750,000 crafting workload spread across three stations, and roughly 444,500 gold of material value. Coal is the sneaky one — 250 goes into the Coralum Ingot and another 80 into the Thermal Cores, so you want a stockpile of 330 before you start. Coralum Ore is the bottleneck instead: it sits on the deep-sea floor and gets pulled up with a fishing magnet, and only three Pals drop it at all.

| Raw input | Total needed | Where to get it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Coralum Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseOre) | 100 | Fished off the ocean floor with a magnet, or dropped by [Neptilius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/neptilius) (10 per kill) and [Whalaska](https://palworld-db.com/pal/whalaska) (2-3) |
| [Coal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Coal) | 330 | 824 coal nodes on the [Palworld interactive map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_coal); [Blazamut](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut) also drops 10 per kill |
| [Venom Gland](https://palworld-db.com/item/Venom) | 50 | [Menasting](https://palworld-db.com/pal/menasting) drops 5-10 every time |
| [Sulfur](https://palworld-db.com/item/Sulfur) | 50 | 655 sulfur nodes on the [map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_sulfur); [Pierdon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pierdon) drops 4-5 |
| [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) | 40 | 37 Pals drop it — [Blazamut](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut) gives 10, [Suzaku](https://palworld-db.com/pal/suzaku) 5-10 |
| [Chromite](https://palworld-db.com/item/Chromium) | 20 | Buried deposits, dug up with the Metal Detector |
| [Hexolite Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/RainbowCrystal) | 20 | 635 nodes on the [map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_hexolitequartz), plus the Hexolite Quartz Mine at Lv. 62 |

> **Tip.** You do not have to farm [Thermal Cores](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) at all. [Aegidron](https://palworld-db.com/pal/aegidron) and [Jetragon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jetragon) both drop 1-2 of them every single kill at a guaranteed rate, so ten cores is a short farming loop rather than a 5,000,000-workload production run. That is the single biggest time saver on this build.

## Every Weapon the Advanced Weapon Assembly Line Makes

Four weapons, thirteen craftable versions once you count rarity steps, and every one of them is locked to this bench. Three of the four are the strongest things in their class by a wide margin, but read the numbers carefully — a shotgun's attack figure is not comparable to a rifle's, and the Charge Rifle's absurd 12,500 only lands once per charge. The base version of each is what you get from the technology tree; the Uncommon through Legendary versions need the matching schematic sitting in your inventory.

| Weapon | Class | Base attack | Magazine | Durability | Why bring it |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Charge Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifle) | Assault Rifle | 12,500 | 6 | 200 | The single hardest-hitting shot of any assault rifle in the game — the next best, the Plasma Rifle, sits at 1,860. It charges before each shot, so it is a boss-deleter, not a crowd tool |
| [Overheat Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/OverheatRifle) | Assault Rifle | 1,225 | None | 3,000 | Fires forever without reloading. Sustained damage over a whole fight beats its per-shot number, but long bursts overheat and leave you standing still |
| [Energy Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyShotgun) | Shotgun | 402 | 10 | 300 | Third-highest attack of the 12 shotguns, but the fastest firing of the top three — the close-range answer when something is already on top of you |
| [Enhanced Lily's Spear](https://palworld-db.com/item/Spear_ForestBoss2) | Melee | 1,200 | — | 600 | Second-highest melee attack in the game behind the Laser Sword's 2,000, and by far the cheapest thing on this bench to build |

### Charge Rifle Rarity Tiers

Each rarity step adds 625 attack, one magazine round and a chunk of durability, taking the Legendary version to 15,000 attack with a 10-round magazine and 800 durability. The magazine growth matters more than the attack here — going from 6 charged shots to 10 between reloads is a 67% jump in how much damage you can dump before you are exposed. What it costs you is time: the Legendary build is 96,000,000 crafting workload, thirty-two times the base rifle, which is precisely why you want this bench and a Lv. 8 Handiwork Pal rather than the older line.

| Version | Attack | Magazine | Durability | Materials | Workload |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Base | 12,500 | 6 | 200 | 200 [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot), 25 [Bio Battery](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Battery), 5 [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core), 15 [Computer](https://palworld-db.com/item/Computer) | 3,000,000 |
| Uncommon | 13,125 | 7 | 300 | 250 Coralum Ingot, 31 Bio Battery, 6 Thermal Core, 18 Computer, 5 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) | 12,000,000 |
| Rare | 13,750 | 8 | 400 | Scales with rarity, plus Ancient Civilization Parts | 24,000,000 |
| Epic | 14,375 | 9 | 600 | Scales with rarity, plus Ancient Civilization Parts | 48,000,000 |
| Legendary | 15,000 | 10 | 800 | 400 Coralum Ingot, 50 Bio Battery, 10 Thermal Core, 30 Computer, 8 Ancient Civilization Parts | 96,000,000 |

### Energy Shotgun Rarity Tiers

The Energy Shotgun gains 20 attack and one shell per rarity step, ending at 482 attack with a 14-shell magazine. Its standout number is durability — 1,200 at Legendary, quadruple the base and the highest of any weapon on this bench, which matters because a shotgun is the gun you actually empty every fight. Note the material list swaps [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel) in alongside Coralum Ingot, so if you built the bench you already have the smelting chain for it.

| Version | Attack | Magazine | Durability | Workload |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Base | 402 | 10 | 300 | 3,000,000 |
| Uncommon | 422 | 11 | 450 | 12,000,000 |
| Rare | 442 | 12 | 600 | 24,000,000 |
| Epic | 462 | 13 | 900 | 48,000,000 |
| Legendary | 482 | 14 | 1,200 | 96,000,000 |

The base build takes 155 [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot), 130 [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel), 5 [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) and 15 [Computer](https://palworld-db.com/item/Computer); the Legendary doubles all four and adds 8 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex).

### Overheat Rifle Rarity Tiers

The Overheat Rifle has no magazine stat at all, which is the entire point — it never reloads, it just overheats if you hold the trigger too long. That makes durability its real resource, and it starts at 3,000 and doubles to 6,000 at Legendary, the largest durability pool of anything this bench makes. Attack climbs 61 per step to 1,470. It is the most forgiving of the three guns to use and the cheapest of the three to feed, since its ammo comes 20 to a craft instead of 10.

| Version | Attack | Durability | Workload |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Base | 1,225 | 3,000 | 3,000,000 |
| Uncommon | 1,286 | 3,000 | 12,000,000 |
| Rare | 1,347 | 4,000 | 24,000,000 |
| Epic | 1,408 | 5,000 | 48,000,000 |
| Legendary | 1,470 | 6,000 | 96,000,000 |

Its recipe is the odd one out — instead of [Computers](https://palworld-db.com/item/Computer) it wants 50 [Cryogenic Coolant](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Coolant) at base and 100 at Legendary, alongside 160 [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot) and 135 [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel). Cryogenic Coolant is a cheap level 31 recipe, so this is the least painful of the three guns to mass-produce.

### Enhanced Lily's Spear

The odd item out on the menu: a melee weapon on a bench full of energy guns, and the only recipe here that is genuinely cheap. The base spear is 300,000 workload — one three-hundredth of a Legendary Charge Rifle — and asks for 20 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S), 30 [Soralite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyislandIngot), 20 [High Quality Cloth](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cloth2) and 20 [High Quality Wooden Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/HighGrade_Processed_Wood). Only the Legendary version is built here; it hits 1,500 attack with 2,400 durability for 1,200,000 workload. At 1,200 base attack it is the second-strongest melee weapon in Palworld, and unlike the guns it costs you nothing you were saving for something else.

## Ammo You Can Only Craft Here

This is the part players underestimate. All three guns take proprietary ammo, none of it is craftable anywhere else, and none of it drops — if your bench is unpowered or unstaffed, three of your best weapons stop working. Each ammo recipe is 200,000 workload per batch, so keep a Handiwork Pal on the line permanently rather than queueing rounds when you need them. Overheat Rifle Ammo is the clear value pick at 20 rounds per craft from two cheap materials; Charge Rifle Ammo is the one to hoard, since each batch of 10 burns a whole [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core).

| Ammo | Per craft | Materials | Tech level | Value each |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Overheat Rifle Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/OverheatRifleBullet) | 20 | 1 [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) + 1 [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel) | Lv. 64 | 920 |
| [Energy Shotgun Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyShotgunBullet) | 10 | 1 [Bio Battery](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Battery) + 2 [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel) | Lv. 63 | 990 |
| [Charge Rifle Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifleBullet) | 10 | 1 [Bio Battery](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Battery) + 1 [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) | Lv. 65 | 1,740 |

## Schematic Upgrades on the Same Bench

Thirteen of the bench's 29 recipes are schematics, and they work as a merge ladder: five copies of any tier fuse into one copy of the next. That means a Legendary schematic is 125 copies of the Uncommon one if you build the whole chain from scratch, which is why farming drops of the higher tiers directly is almost always faster. The merge itself is trivial to run — 1,000 workload per fuse, effectively instant — so the bench is only the place you do it, not the bottleneck. [Enhanced Lily's Spear](https://palworld-db.com/item/Spear_ForestBoss2) is the exception: only its Legendary schematic is craftable here.

| Schematic | Unlocks | Fuse cost | Copies of Schematic 1 needed |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Schematic 1](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_ChargeLaserRifle_2) | Uncommon version | Drop only — cannot be fused | 1 |
| [Schematic 2](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_ChargeLaserRifle_3) | Rare version | 5 × Schematic 1 | 5 |
| [Schematic 3](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_ChargeLaserRifle_4) | Epic version | 5 × Schematic 2 | 25 |
| [Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_ChargeLaserRifle_5) | Legendary version | 5 × Schematic 3 | 125 |

The same ladder applies identically to the Energy Shotgun and Overheat Rifle schematics. If you want the fastest route to a Legendary gun, chase the drops — see [all legendary weapon schematic locations](https://palworld-db.com/guides/legendary-weapon-schematic-locations) for where each tier comes from.

## Best Pals to Staff the Line

The bench needs Handiwork Lv. 1 to run at all, and 109 Pals qualify, but the workload numbers make the choice obvious: a Legendary gun is 96,000,000 workload, so every level of Handiwork you skip is real hours. Only 33 Pals reach Handiwork Lv. 4 or better and exactly one hits the Lv. 8 cap. Put [Solenne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/solenne) on it if you have one; otherwise [Selyne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/selyne) at Lv. 7 is the clear runner-up. Below that, pick by second job — [Anubis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/anubis) brings Mining Lv. 6 for the ore chain that feeds this exact bench, which makes it the best all-round pick for a weapons base.

| Pal | Handiwork | Other jobs | Why it works here |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Solenne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/solenne) | Lv. 8 | Gathering 4, Transporting 2 | The only Handiwork Lv. 8 Pal in the game — nothing crafts faster |
| [Selyne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/selyne) | Lv. 7 | Medicine Production 6, Transporting 3 | Second-fastest crafter, and doubles as your medicine worker |
| [Anubis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/anubis) | Lv. 6 | Mining 6, Transporting 4 | Best all-rounder — mines the Coal and ore this bench eats between crafts |
| [Dandilord](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dandilord) | Lv. 6 | Planting 8, Medicine Production 6, Gathering 5 | Take it if the base is short on food workers, not for raw speed |
| [Renjishi](https://palworld-db.com/pal/renjishi) | Lv. 6 | Kindling 8, Gathering 5, Transporting 5 | Pairs with the furnace line smelting your Coralum Ingot |

> **Tip.** Plan the power before you plan the materials. At 1,000 electricity this bench alone will brown out a mid-game grid, and you will almost certainly be running the Gigantic Furnace (1,500) beside it to smelt [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot). Build the Large Power Generator and staff it with a dedicated Generating Electricity Pal first — an unpowered assembly line looks like it is working and produces nothing.

## Is the Advanced Weapon Assembly Line Worth It?

There is no decision to make — if you want any of Palworld's three endgame guns, this is the only bench that builds them and the only one that makes their ammo, so it is mandatory rather than optional. The honest answer to "when" is level 63 with a Gigantic Furnace already running, roughly 330 Coal and 100 Coralum Ore banked, and a generator that can spare 1,000 electricity. Get the [Energy Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyShotgun) going first since it unlocks on the same row, then pick up the [Overheat Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/OverheatRifle) at 64 and the [Charge Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifle) at 65 as your levels come in.
