The Ancient Hatchery is the last breeding structure in the game, and it is the only one that does both jobs — it lays the eggs and hatches them, so the Breeding Farm and the incubator next to it both become furniture. This guide covers the level 76 unlock and the 8 Ancient Technology Points it costs, all four build materials with the full raw pile underneath them, the power and worker slots it eats, and whether it beats the four incubators you already own.

## Ancient Hatchery at a Glance

Two numbers set this build apart. It costs **8 Ancient Technology Points**, which makes it the second most expensive Ancient unlock in the game behind the Wing Pack at 9 — and Ancient points come from bosses, not from levelling, so you cannot grind your way past it. It also pulls **1,200 power**, the sixth heaviest draw of the 42 structures that need electricity. The good news is the staffing: it takes two Pals of any work suitability, at rank 1, and drains no SAN while they are in there. That is the exact same worker profile as a plain [Breeding Farm](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Breeding%20Farm), so the machine that replaces your whole breeding corner does not cost you a single extra worker.

| What | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Type | Base structure, **Pal** tab of the build menu |
| Technology level | Lv. 76 |
| Cost | 8 Ancient Technology Points (boss currency, not regular points) |
| Materials | 100 [Paloxite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeIngot), 50 [AI Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AIcore), 30 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex), 20 [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) |
| True cost | 70 Ancient Civilization Cores and 1,100 [Soralite](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyIslandOre) once every sub-recipe is counted |
| Power draw | 1,200 — you need a generator running before it does anything |
| Workers | 2 Pals, any work suitability, rank 1, no SAN drain |
| Structure HP | 100,000 (every other incubator sits at 2,000) |
| What it does | Produces eggs and incubates them in one unit, at speed, with a better rare-passive inheritance rate |
| Placement | Must sit inside base range, and cannot be built in a raid boss arena |

## How to Unlock the Ancient Hatchery

Hit character level 76, open the [Palworld technology tree](https://palworld-db.com/research), and switch to the Ancient side. The whole Ancient tree is 51 unlocks totalling 185 points, so 8 in one purchase is a real dent — and the level 76 row has four regular technologies sitting next to it that cost ordinary points, which is why people miss that the Hatchery is on the other currency entirely. If you are choosing an order, buy the Soralite Quarry at level 72 **first**. It costs 7 points, and the Hatchery's recipe chain eats 1,100 Soralite; building the Hatchery before you have an automated Soralite supply means hand-mining the 226 nodes on the map over and over.

| Ancient technology | Lv. | Points | Buy it before the Hatchery? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Soralite Quarry | 72 | 7 | Yes — 1,100 Soralite is the single biggest line in the build |
| Pure Quartz Quarry | 52 | 5 | Yes — the chain needs 2,000 Pure Quartz all in |
| Coal Quarry | 37 | 5 | Yes — 1,800 Coal, and it is cheap this early |
| Ancient Hatchery | 76 | 8 | The purchase itself — second priciest Ancient unlock in the game |
| Wing Pack | 80 | 9 | After — it is the only Ancient unlock that costs more |
| Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator | 58 | 5 | You already own it; the Hatchery makes it redundant |

Ancient Technology Points only come from beating things, so the gate here is your boss clear list rather than your level. ## Ancient Hatchery Materials

Four materials, and they are wildly unequal. The 30 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) are almost a rounding error at this stage — a single alpha drops 7 to 9. The 100 [Paloxite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeIngot) are a World Tree farming trip. The 50 [AI Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AIcore) are the wall: that one line alone is 250 Computers, 500 Soralite Ingots, 100 Thermal Cores and 50 more Ancient Civilization Cores. Start the AI Core queue the day you decide you want this thing, and gather everything else while it grinds.

| Material | Qty | Made at | Recipe per unit |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Paloxite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeIngot) | 100 | Smelted from World Tree materials | 1 [Soralite](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyIslandOre) + 2 [Paloxite](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeOre) + 1 [World Tree Holy Water](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeHolyWater) |
| [AI Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AIcore) | 50 | [Advanced Workshop](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-advanced-workshop) (Lv. 62) | 5 [Computer](https://palworld-db.com/item/Computer) + 10 [Soralite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyislandIngot) + 2 [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) + 1 [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) |
| [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) | 30 | Not craftable — alpha Pal drops | 7-9 guaranteed from any alpha, 288 Pals drop them |
| [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | 20 | Not craftable — crates, relics and two Pals | See the Core table below; you need 70 in total |

### Paloxite Ingot ×100

Each ingot fuses one Soralite with two [Paloxite](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeOre) and one [World Tree Holy Water](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeHolyWater), so 100 of them means 100 Soralite, 200 Paloxite and 100 Holy Water. Both World Tree materials come from the same place and only that place. Holy Water is the kind half — every World Tree field drop that rolls it gives 5 to 10 at a time, and it is a guaranteed entry on that table. Paloxite is the slow one at roughly a 19% chance on World Tree field pickups, which is why most people farm it indirectly: [the Ancient Relic Recycler](https://palworld-db.com/guides/ancient-relic-recycler) returns Paloxite from **every** relic grade at 100%, from 1-3 on a Decayed relic up to 9-11 on a Glistening one. If you have not opened the region yet, [beating Panthalus to enter the World Tree](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-beat-panthalus-and-enter-the-world-tree) is the prerequisite for this entire material.

### AI Core ×50

This is the expensive half of the build and it hides two more crafting tiers. AI Cores are made at the [Advanced Workshop](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-advanced-workshop), and 50 of them expand into 250 [Computer](https://palworld-db.com/item/Computer), 500 [Soralite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyislandIngot), 100 [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) and 50 [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2). The Soralite Ingots go through the Ancient Furnace at 2 [Soralite](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyIslandOre) and 2 [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) each — that is 1,000 of each ore on its own. Computers and Thermal Cores both come off the Production Assembly Line II, so that bench becomes the bottleneck unless you have two of them. And each AI Core burns a full crafting workload of 5,000,000, five times a Paloxite Ingot's, so 50 of them is not a job you finish in one session — queue them and go farm something else.

| AI Core line | Total needed | Where it is made |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Computer](https://palworld-db.com/item/Computer) | 250 | Production Assembly Line II (Lv. 42) |
| [Soralite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyislandIngot) | 500 | Ancient Furnace (Lv. 66) |
| [Thermal Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/Thermal_Core) | 100 | Production Assembly Line II (Lv. 42) |
| [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | 50 | Farmed — on top of the 20 the Hatchery asks for directly |

### Ancient Civilization Cores ×70

Add the 50 buried in the AI Cores to the 20 on the build sheet and you need **70 Ancient Civilization Cores** for one Hatchery. They cannot be crafted and only 2 Pals in the entire game drop them, one each, so the volume has to come from crates and relics. Oil rig crates are the workhorse — the two rig loot pools roll Cores at 55% and 44% for 1-5 apiece — but relic recycling is the more reliable drip because a Glistening relic pays 5-10 at a 41% roll and you are already recycling relics for the Paloxite. [The full Ancient Civilization Core guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-ancient-civilization-cores) has the complete source list if you want to plan a dedicated run.

| Core source | Chance | Amount |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Crates on the oil rigs | 55.03% | 1-5 |
| Crates on the large oil rig | 44.12% | 1-5 |
| Recycling Glistening Ancient Relics | 41.47% | 5-10 |
| Recycling Glowing Ancient Relics | 34.56% | 5-10 |
| Recycling Gorgeous Ancient Relics | 28.80% | 5-10 |
| [Silvance](https://palworld-db.com/pal/silvance) | 100% | 1 |
| [Dandilord](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dandilord) | 100% | 1 |

## Full Raw Material Shopping List

Follow every sub-recipe down to the things you actually mine, chop and loot, and the Ancient Hatchery bottoms out at 10,000 Wood and 4,750 Ore. Most of that is the Carbon Fiber inside the Bio Batteries inside the Computers — five Charcoal per fibre, two Wood per Charcoal, and it compounds fast. None of the wood-and-ore end is hard, it is just volume, so the honest planning advice is to sort this list into two piles: the top half runs itself off quarries and a Logging Site, and the bottom half (Soralite, Paloxite, Holy Water, Cores) is what you personally go and get.

| Raw material | Total | Where to farm it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) | 10,000 | [4,654 lumber pins](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_lumber), or a Logging Site on repeat |

| [Paloxite](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeOre) | 200 | World Tree field drops (~19%) and relic recycling (100%) |
| [Venom Gland](https://palworld-db.com/item/Venom) | 200 | Poison Pal drops, for Corrosive Solvent |
| [Chromite](https://palworld-db.com/item/Chromium) | 200 | Feybreak supply drops (30-40) and Feybreak expeditions |
| [Hexolite Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/RainbowCrystal) | 200 | [635 nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_hexolitequartz), or the Hexolite Quartz Mine |

| [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | 70 | Oil rig crates and relic recycling |
| [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) | 30 | Any alpha Pal, 7-9 guaranteed |

> **Tip.** Build the [Ancient Power Generator](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-ancient-power-generator) before the Hatchery, not after. The Hatchery's 1,200 draw lands on a grid that is probably already carrying an Ancient Furnace at 3,000 and an Ancient Workbench at 2,000, and a browned-out base does not craft the AI Cores you need to finish the Hatchery in the first place.

## Ancient Hatchery vs Every Other Incubator

The four incubators before this one are all the same idea with more slots and better temperature control bolted on — you still breed eggs at a separate Breeding Farm and carry them over by hand. The Ancient Hatchery is the only one that closes that loop, and its description is explicit that it also raises the inheritance rate for rare skills, which is the part that matters if you are chasing passives rather than just filling the Paldeck. The price of admission is steep in a way the table understates: its build workload is 1,000,000, which is 200 times the Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator's 5,000, so even with the materials in the box the thing takes ages to physically assemble. If you are not there yet, [the Large Incubator at level 48](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-large-incubator) is still the best value step in the family because it needs no power at all.

| Structure | Tech Lv. | Ancient pts | Power | What it adds |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | 10 | 1 | None | One egg, manual temperature juggling |
| | 19 | 2 | None | Egg production only — 2 Pals and a [Cake](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cake) |
| | 36 | 5 | 200 | Holds the right temperature for you |
| | 48 | 5 | None | Multiple eggs, still no power needed |
| | 58 | 5 | 800 | Multiple eggs at optimal temperature |
| | 76 | 8 | 1,200 | Breeds **and** hatches, at speed, with better rare-skill inheritance |

## Power, Workers and Where You Can Put It

Running it is simpler than building it. Two Pals go in, any work suitability at rank 1, and unlike the older incubators you cannot operate this one yourself — it is Pal-staffed only. That is a straight upgrade in practice, because the manual incubators tick SAN down at 0.11 on whoever works them while the Hatchery costs zero SAN. Stock it with [Cake](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cake) the way you would a Breeding Farm; the egg-production half of the machine is doing that job now, and it is the only consumable in the loop. On placement, it has to sit inside base range like every other breeding structure, and the game blocks it from raid boss arenas entirely, so do not plan a raid base around it.

Things worth knowing before you commit the build slot:
- **1,200 power, always on.** It is the sixth heaviest draw in the game and it is not a burst load.
- **100,000 structure HP.** Fifty times any other incubator, but its decay rate scales up to match, so keep repairing on the usual cadence.
- **Two worker slots, no SAN cost.** Any Pal qualifies, so use the ones that are useless everywhere else.
- **Massive build EXP.** It grants the top build EXP rate in the game, shared with the rest of the Ancient tier — a nice bonus while you are pushing toward level 80.
- **It does not replace a [Large Incubator](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-large-incubator) you built elsewhere.** Eggs already sitting in another incubator stay there.

## Is the Ancient Hatchery Worth 8 Ancient Technology Points?

If you breed seriously, yes, and it is not close. The whole point of a breeding setup is throughput of *attempts* — you are rolling for passive combinations, and the Hatchery removes the two manual steps (collect egg, walk it to the incubator) that cap how many rolls you get per play session, then improves the odds on top. If you breed occasionally to fill the Paldeck, skip it: 70 Ancient Civilization Cores and 1,100 Soralite buys a lot of other endgame, and a [Large Incubator](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-large-incubator) next to a Breeding Farm does the same job for a fraction of the cost. Either way, buy the Soralite Quarry with your Ancient points first — it pays for itself against this build and everything else at the top of the tree.
