The Faux Desert Greenery Set is a one-point technology at level 37 that adds three artificial desert trees to your build menu for oasis-themed bases. This guide covers the level and point cost, all three pieces with their exact recipes, the flat 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) bill for the full set, the fastest ways to farm that, and what to plant as ground cover since this set ships without a bush.

## Faux Desert Greenery Set at a Glance

This is the sixth faux plant set on the [Palworld Technology Tree](https://palworld-db.com/tech) and one of only two that give you three pieces instead of four — the other being Cherry Blossoms at level 56. There is no parent technology, so your character level is the only gate, and nothing in the set needs power, a worker or a crafting station once it is unlocked. The trees also cannot be chopped back down, so every point of the 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) you spend here is spent for good.

| What | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Type | Technology unlock — decorative furniture set |
| Technology level | Lv. 37 |
| Technology points | 1 (normal points, not Ancient) |
| Pieces unlocked | **3** — three tree variants, no bush |
| Prerequisite | None — no parent technology to buy first |
| Build menu tab | Furniture |
| Total cost for all three | 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) |
| Harvestable | No — these cannot be cut down for materials |
| Power draw | None on any piece |
| Workers needed | None — nothing in the set is a job station |

## How to Unlock the Faux Desert Greenery Set

Reach character level 37, open the technology tree and spend one point on the Faux Desert Greenery Set — all three trees then sit permanently in the Furniture tab of your build menu. Level 37 is a heavy row: the eight normal technologies on it want 17 points between them, and the [Coal Quarry](https://palworld-db.com/structures) on top of that costs 5 Ancient Technology Points from a separate pool. If points are tight, the [SMG](https://palworld-db.com/item/SubmachineGun) and the [Refined Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronArmor) and [Refined Metal Helm](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronHelmet) pair are what actually move your progression here, and the Outdoor Furniture Set is the better decoration buy at the same one-point price because it hands you four pieces instead of three.

| Level 37 technology | Points | Point type |
| --- | --- | --- |
| | 2 | Normal |
| | 5 | Ancient |
| [Corrosive Solvent](https://palworld-db.com/item/Corrosive_Solvent) | 2 | Normal |
| **** | **1** | **Normal** |
| [Maraith Saddle](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkillUnlock_GhostBeast) | 2 | Normal |
| | 1 | Normal |
| [Refined Metal Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronArmor) | 3 | Normal |
| [Refined Metal Helm](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronHelmet) | 3 | Normal |
| [SMG](https://palworld-db.com/item/SubmachineGun) | 3 | Normal |

## All 3 Pieces and What Each One Costs

The three pieces are variants A, B and C of the same desert tree and they are priced identically at 20 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) each, so there is no cheap filler piece to spam — every single thing you place from this set costs the same as a tree. Mixing all three is the whole point, because a row of nothing but variant A reads as copy-paste from ten metres away. Plan on roughly one full set of three per 60 Hardwood run and build outward from there.

| Piece | Materials | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| | 20 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) | Tree variant A |
| | 20 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) | Tree variant B |
| | 20 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) | Tree variant C |

## The Desert Set Has No Bush: What to Plant Instead

Six of the eight faux sets include a cheap ground-cover piece, and this one does not — you get trees and nothing beneath them, which leaves an oasis build looking like three trunks standing in dirt. Borrow the filler from a set you already own. The is the pick for a desert base: it unlocks 23 levels earlier, costs 20 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) you will never miss, and bare rock is exactly what belongs around a dune. The is the runner-up as dry yellow scrub, while the green and flowering bushes suit the wet middle of an oasis where the water actually is.

| Ground cover | From set | Tech level | Cost | Why it fits |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | Faux Crimson Foliage Set | 14 | 20 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) | Stone is the cheapest filler material, and bare rock suits a dune |
| | Faux Golden Foliage Set | 16 | 20 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) | Dry yellow scrub for the sandy edges |
| | Faux Greenery Set | 12 | 20 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) | Plain green — use it right at the waterline |
| | Faux Bamboo Set | 23 | 20 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) | Colour for the centre of an oasis |
| | Faux Tropical Greenery Set | 27 | 20 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) | Palm-adjacent leaves that blend with the desert trees |

## How to Farm the 60 Hardwood

[Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) comes off the tougher trees growing in the desert, volcanic and snowy stretches of the map rather than the starter forests, which is convenient here — if you are building a desert base you are already standing in Hardwood country. Our [Palworld interactive map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_lumber) pins 4,654 lumber nodes with the Lumber layer switched on. At level 37 you have three realistic routes to 60: Pal drops, the shops, or a base logging setup later. Pal drops win easily, because all four Hardwood droppers hand it over every single time.

### Catch the Pals That Drop Hardwood

Four Pals drop [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) and every one of them drops it at a 100% rate, so there is no grinding for a bad roll here. [Wumpo Botan](https://palworld-db.com/pal/wumpo-botan) is both the biggest haul at 2-5 per drop and the most common of the four at 83 spawn points, and its alpha sits at level 38 — a fair fight at exactly the level you unlock this set, and a fine excuse to make the trip. [Palumba](https://palworld-db.com/pal/palumba) is the easier catch if you want a quieter run. Around 15 to 20 Wumpo Botan clears the full 60 on its own.

| Pal | Hardwood per drop | Drop rate | Spawn points | Map |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Wumpo Botan](https://palworld-db.com/pal/wumpo-botan) | 2-5 | 100% | 83 | [Wumpo Botan spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=Yeti_Grass) |
| [Palumba](https://palworld-db.com/pal/palumba) | 2-4 | 100% | 42 | [Palumba spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=TropicalOstrich) |
| [Mossanda](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mossanda) | 1-3 | 100% | 52 | [Mossanda spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=GrassPanda) |
| [Mossanda Lux](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mossanda-lux) | 1-3 | 100% | 40 | [Mossanda Lux spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=GrassPanda_Electric) |

### Buy Hardwood From a Merchant

[Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) costs 100 Gold a piece at the Village, Desert and Volcano shops and from the Wandering Trader, which puts the whole three-tree set at 6,000 Gold. The Desert Shop is the one to use, since it is the closest counter to wherever you are putting an oasis base. Merchants restock and there is no per-visit cap, so you can walk out with all 60 in one go — just understand you are paying gear money for scenery.

### Build a Logging Site II Later

The Logging Site II is the only base facility that produces [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) on its own, but it sits six levels above this set at technology level 43 and costs 100 Hardwood, 50 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone), 20 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) and 5 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) — more Hardwood than the entire Desert set needs. Do not wait for it to decorate. Once you do have it, staff it with your best Lumbering workers: [Celesdir Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/celesdir-noct) is the only level 8 logger in the game, with [Celesdir](https://palworld-db.com/pal/celesdir) and [Hartalis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/hartalis) tied behind it at level 7, out of 63 Pals that can do the job at all.

> **Tip.** Farm the [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) before you spend the technology point, not after. The unlock is permanent and free to sit on, but 60 Hardwood at level 37 is a real afternoon — and unlike the [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) the other faux sets lean on, there is no workbench recipe that turns cheap [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) into Hardwood. Until the Logging Site II at level 43, it only comes from swinging an axe at desert, volcanic and snowy trees, killing one of the four Pals that drop it, or paying 100 Gold a unit.

## Every Faux Decoration Set Compared

There are eight faux decoration sets across the tech tree, every one of them costing exactly one point, and the Desert set is the worst value on the list by piece count. Level 23 and below is where the bargains are: those sets are built from [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood), [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) and [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber), and Bamboo gives five pieces for its single point. From Tropical onward every tree costs 20 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine), and Desert and Cherry Blossoms are the two that charge that Hardwood rate without throwing in a cheap bush to soften it.

| Set | Tech level | Pieces | Full material cost |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Faux Greenery Set | 12 | 4 | 80 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) |
| Faux Crimson Foliage Set | 14 | 4 | 60 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) + 20 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) |
| Faux Golden Foliage Set | 16 | 4 | 60 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) + 20 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) |
| Faux Bamboo Set | 23 | 5 | 60 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) + 40 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) |
| Faux Tropical Greenery Set | 27 | 4 | 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) + 20 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) |
| **Faux Desert Greenery Set** | **37** | **3** | **60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine)** |
| Faux Snowy Greenery Set | 49 | 4 | 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) + 20 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) |
| Faux Cherry Blossoms Set | 56 | 3 | 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) |

## Is the Desert Set Worth a Point?

Take it if you are building in the sand, skip it otherwise. These are the only trees in the game that look right around an oasis, and the point itself is trivial — one out of the 17 normal points level 37 asks for, spent on something you keep forever. What is not trivial is the 60 Hardwood, and nothing in the set produces, stores, buffs or defends anything to earn it back. The sensible order is to buy the unlock the moment you hit 37, plant a or two as ground cover in the meantime, and only cash in the Hardwood once your gear and stations have stopped competing for it.
