The Faux Greenery Set is a one-point technology at level 12 that puts three fake trees and a fake bush in your build menu. This guide covers the unlock level and point cost, all four pieces with their exact recipes, the 80 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) the full set costs, and the three ways to cover that bill while you are still in the early game.

## Faux Greenery Set at a Glance

This is the first of eight faux plant sets on the [Palworld Technology Tree](https://palworld-db.com/tech) and the cheapest one to actually build, because every piece runs on plain [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) instead of [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine), [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) or [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber). There is no parent technology to buy first, so your character level is the only gate, and nothing in the set needs power, a worker or a crafting station once it is placed. The trade-off is the same as every faux plant: the pieces are scenery and nothing else, and you cannot chop them back down, so the Wood is spent for good.

| What | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Type | Technology unlock — decorative furniture set |
| Technology level | Lv. 12 |
| Technology points | 1 (normal points, not Ancient) |
| Pieces unlocked | **4** — three trees and one bush |
| Prerequisite | None — no parent technology to buy first |
| Build menu tab | Furniture |
| Total cost for all four | 80 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) |
| Harvestable | No — none of the four can be broken down for materials |
| Power draw | None on any piece |
| Workers needed | None — nothing in the set is a job station |

## How to Unlock the Faux Greenery Set

Hit character level 12, open the technology tree and spend one point on the Faux Greenery Set — all four pieces then live permanently in the Furniture tab of your build menu. Level 12 is a busy row that wants 11 normal points to clear outright, and almost everything competing for them is a genuine upgrade: the Eikthyrdeer Saddle gets you your first real mount, the [Meat Cleaver](https://palworld-db.com/item/MeatCutterKnife) opens up butchering, and [Pelt Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/FurArmor) is the armour you will wear for the next dozen levels. The Grappling Gun on this row does not touch that budget at all — it costs 1 Ancient Technology Point, which is a separate currency you get from tower bosses. Decoration is the last thing you should buy here, but at one point it is also the cheapest thing on the row alongside Tanzee's Assault Rifle and the Tidy Table Set.

| Level 12 technology | Points | Point type |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Eikthyrdeer Saddle](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkillUnlock_Deer) | 2 | Normal |
| **Faux Greenery Set** | **1** | **Normal** |
| [Meat Cleaver](https://palworld-db.com/item/MeatCutterKnife) | 2 | Normal |
| | 2 | Normal |
| [Pelt Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/FurArmor) | 2 | Normal |
| [Tanzee's Assault Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkillUnlock_Monkey) | 1 | Normal |
| | 1 | Normal |
| [Grappling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/GrapplingGun) | 1 | Ancient |

## All 4 Pieces and What Each One Costs

Every piece is a flat 20 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood), which makes this the only faux set with a single-material bill and no cheap outlier to lean on. The three trees are variants A, B and C of the same broadleaf, and mixing all three is what stops a planted row from reading as copy-paste. The Faux Bush is the one to spam: it is the same 20 Wood as a tree but sits low, so it fills the gaps between buildings and along paths where a full tree would block your own doorways. Build bushes first, trees second, and place the trees only where players actually look.

| Piece | Materials | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| | 20 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) | Tree variant A |
| | 20 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) | Tree variant B |
| | 20 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) | Tree variant C |
| | 20 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) | Low ground cover — best filler piece |

## How to Farm the 80 Wood

No Pal in the game drops [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) when you kill or capture it, so there is no farming route to run — Wood comes from trees, from a base facility, or from a merchant, and nothing else. Our [Palworld interactive map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_lumber) pins 4,654 lumber nodes across Palpagos Islands with the Lumber layer switched on, which is far and away the densest resource on the map, so the material is never scarce. The only real question at level 12 is whether you want to swing the axe yourself or hand the job to Pals.

### Chop Trees With a Metal Axe

The [Metal Axe](https://palworld-db.com/item/Axe_Tier_01) unlocks at technology level 11 for 2 points — one level below this set — so by the time the Faux Greenery Set is on your menu you should already be swinging it. It costs 15 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone), 20 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) and 15 [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot), and it replaces the [Stone Axe](https://palworld-db.com/item/Axe_Tier_00) you have been using since level 1. Manual chopping is the fastest way to 80 Wood if you need it right now: pick any forested stretch, fell four or five full trees, and you are done. The next upgrade after this, the [Refined Metal Axe](https://palworld-db.com/item/Axe_Tier_02), does not arrive until level 34, so the Metal Axe is your tool for a long stretch of the game.

| Axe | Tech level | Points | Materials |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Stone Axe](https://palworld-db.com/item/Axe_Tier_00) | 1 | 1 | 5 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) + 5 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) |
| [Metal Axe](https://palworld-db.com/item/Axe_Tier_01) | 11 | 2 | 15 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) + 20 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) + 15 [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot) |
| [Refined Metal Axe](https://palworld-db.com/item/Axe_Tier_02) | 34 | 2 | 30 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) + 4 [Wooden Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/Processed_Wood) + 10 [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) |

### Build a Logging Site and Staff It

The Logging Site unlocks at technology level 7 for 2 points and costs 50 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood), 20 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) and 10 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) to build. It only needs a rank 1 Lumbering worker, so almost any wood-cutting Pal you own at level 12 can run it, and once it is up your Wood problem is solved permanently rather than one set at a time. This is the correct answer if you plan to keep decorating, because the Faux Crimson Foliage Set at level 14 and the Faux Golden Foliage Set at level 16 both want another 60 Wood each within a few levels.

Sixty-three Pals can work Lumbering, but the top ranks are all late-game catches — the best logger in the game, [Celesdir Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/celesdir-noct), sits at rank 8 and is nowhere near you at level 12. What you want instead is the best rank you can realistically own right now, and that is [Eikthyrdeer](https://palworld-db.com/pal/eikthyrdeer) at rank 2, with 227 spawn points and its saddle sitting on this exact technology row. [Cawgnito](https://palworld-db.com/pal/cawgnito) is the easiest one to actually find at 1,463 spawn points after dark against 264 in daylight, and [Lifmunk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lifmunk) at rank 1 is the fallback everyone already has from the opening hour.

| Pal | Lumbering rank | Spawn points | Map |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Dinossom](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dinossom) | 3 | 262 | [Dinossom spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=FlowerDinosaur) |
| [Gorirat](https://palworld-db.com/pal/gorirat) | 3 | 67 | [Gorirat spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=Gorilla) |
| [Eikthyrdeer](https://palworld-db.com/pal/eikthyrdeer) | 2 | 227 | [Eikthyrdeer spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=Deer) |
| [Cawgnito](https://palworld-db.com/pal/cawgnito) | 2 | 1,463 | [Cawgnito spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=DarkCrow) |
| [Nyafia](https://palworld-db.com/pal/nyafia) | 2 | 259 | [Nyafia spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=BadCatgirl) |
| [Arsox](https://palworld-db.com/pal/arsox) | 2 | 108 | [Arsox spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=FlameBuffalo) |
| [Lifmunk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lifmunk) | 1 | 211 | [Lifmunk spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=Carbunclo) |
| [Tanzee](https://palworld-db.com/pal/tanzee) | 1 | 72 | [Tanzee spawn map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=Monkey) |

### Buy Wood From the Wandering Trader

The Wandering Trader is the only merchant in the game who stocks [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood), at 12 Gold a unit, which puts the whole set at 960 Gold. That is genuinely affordable at level 12 and it takes about ten seconds, so it is a reasonable shortcut if you happen to be standing at a shop with money in your pocket. It is still the worst deal in this guide in pure terms — you are paying nearly a thousand Gold for something four axe swings would have given you — and Gold is tighter at this stage of the game than Wood ever is.

> **Tip.** Buy the technology the moment you hit level 12 and place the pieces later. The point is spent once and never expires, but 80 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) is real money at this stage — the same 80 Wood is four [Metal Axes](https://palworld-db.com/item/Axe_Tier_01) worth of material or most of a Logging Site. Build the [Eikthyrdeer](https://palworld-db.com/pal/eikthyrdeer)-staffed Logging Site first, let it stockpile, then decorate out of the overflow.

## Every Faux Decoration Set Compared

Eight faux decoration sets are spread across the tech tree and every single one costs exactly one point, so the only real differences are how many pieces you get and what they are made of. The Greenery Set is the earliest by 2 levels and the only one that is pure [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) — from the Tropical set at level 27 onward, every tree in every set switches to 20 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine), which is a different farming problem entirely. The Bamboo Set is the best raw value on the board at five pieces for one point, and the Desert and Cherry Blossoms sets are the worst, giving you three trees and no bush for the same single point.

| Set | Tech level | Pieces | Full material cost |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Faux Greenery Set** | **12** | **4** | **80 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood)** |
| Faux Crimson Foliage Set | 14 | 4 | 60 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) + 20 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) |
| Faux Golden Foliage Set | 16 | 4 | 60 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) + 20 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) |
| Faux Bamboo Set | 23 | 5 | 60 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) + 40 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) |
| Faux Tropical Greenery Set | 27 | 4 | 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) + 20 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) |
| Faux Desert Greenery Set | 37 | 3 | 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) |
| Faux Snowy Greenery Set | 49 | 4 | 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) + 20 [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) |
| Faux Cherry Blossoms Set | 56 | 3 | 60 [Hardwood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood_Fine) |

## Is the Faux Greenery Set Worth a Point?

Yes, but not this week. Four pieces for one point is a good rate and the material cost is the lowest of any faux set in the game, so it will never be cheaper than it is now. What it will not do is help you progress: nothing in the set produces, stores, buffs or defends anything, and level 12 is the row where your first mount saddle and your first proper armour are both sitting there wanting two points each. Grab the technology when your point balance has slack, then spend the Wood once your [base](https://palworld-db.com/structures) has walls and a Logging Site running — decorating a base you are about to relocate is the classic beginner Wood sink.
