The Flame Thrower is the Level 52 ranged weapon that sprays a continuous cone of fire and sets whatever it touches burning. This guide covers its full stat card, the exact crafting cost down to raw ore, every place the four Flamethrower Schematics drop with real percentages, and how much it costs to keep the tank full.

## Flamethrower Stats and Overview

The [Flame Thrower](https://palworld-db.com/item/FlameThrower) carries **636 attack**, a **100-unit fuel tank**, and **6,000 durability** at Common rarity. That 100-round magazine is the largest in the game — only the [Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/GatlingGun) and [Laser Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/LaserGatlingGun) match it, and both of those are heavier. The catch is weight: at 45 it is the 18th heaviest of the 342 weapons in the game, so you are giving up a big chunk of your carry limit to bring it along. Its listed attack is a sustained-burn figure, not a per-bullet one, so don't line it up against a sniper rifle's number and expect the comparison to mean anything.

| Stat | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Weapon | [Flame Thrower](https://palworld-db.com/item/FlameThrower) |
| Category | Ranged |
| Rarity | Common (base version) |
| Attack | 636 |
| Magazine | 100 |
| Durability | 6,000 |
| Weight | 45 |
| Ammo | [Flamethrower Fuel](https://palworld-db.com/item/FlamethrowerBullet) |
| Unlock level | Lv. 52 |
| Technology Points | 5 |
| Sell value | 172,750 Gold |

The 636 attack above is the Common version's number, which is the one you get from the base Technology unlock. Higher-rarity Flame Throwers come from schematics and hit harder, but rarity scaling isn't a fixed multiplier in Palworld — some weapon families gain 75% going from Common to Legendary and others only 40% — so treat 636 as your floor and the schematic versions as a straight upgrade over it rather than a number you can predict.

## How to Unlock the Flamethrower

The Flamethrower is a Technology unlock, not a drop, so nobody can hand you one early. You need **character Level 52** and **5 Technology Points** on the [Palworld Technology tree](https://palworld-db.com/tech), and then a **Weapon Assembly Line II** in your base to actually build it. The fuel sits on the same rung — Lv. 52 for 1 Technology Point — which is the sane order to buy them in, because a Flamethrower with no fuel is 45 weight of dead inventory. If you're rationing points at that level, note that 5 is the standard cost for a top-tier ranged weapon, so this isn't an unusually expensive pick.

| Requirement | Flame Thrower | Flamethrower Fuel |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Unlock level | Lv. 52 | Lv. 52 |
| Technology Points | 5 | 1 |
| Crafting station | | |
| Output per craft | 1 | 10 |

## Flamethrower Crafting Materials

Four materials go into one Flame Thrower, and three of them are crafted items rather than things you pick up. [Pal Metal Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealIngot) is the bulk of the bill at 40, and it's the one worth stockpiling ahead of time since almost everything at this tech tier wants it. The 30 [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) is the only part that comes off Pals, and the 13 [Cryogenic Coolant](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Coolant) is the awkward one — it needs Ice Organ, which means killing cold-element Pals for a fire weapon.

| Material | Qty | Where it comes from |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Pal Metal Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealIngot) | 40 | Smelted from 4 Ore + 1 Pure Quartz + 2 Paldium Fragment each |
| [Plasteel](https://palworld-db.com/item/Plastic) | 30 | Electric Furnace, 2 Crude Oil + 5 Ore each |
| [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) | 30 | Dropped by 37 different Fire Pals |
| [Cryogenic Coolant](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Coolant) | 13 | Production Assembly Line, 1 Aquatic Pal Fluids + 1 Ice Organ each |

### Total Raw Materials for One Flamethrower

Break every sub-craft down and one Flame Thrower actually costs the pile below. **310 Ore** is the headline number and the thing that will stall you — that's several full mining runs, so set a base on an ore-heavy node cluster before you start. The 60 [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) is the second bottleneck, and it's worth noting the [185 oil field nodes on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=oilfield) all restock, so this is a route problem rather than a rare-drop problem.

| Raw material | Total needed |
| --- | --- |
| [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) | 310 |
| [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) | 80 |
| [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) | 60 |
| [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) | 40 |
| [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) | 30 |
| [Aquatic Pal Fluids](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalFluid) | 13 |
| [Ice Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/IceOrgan) | 13 |

## Flamethrower Fuel: How to Craft and Farm It

[Flamethrower Fuel](https://palworld-db.com/item/FlamethrowerBullet) is the only ammo the Flame Thrower takes, and it's the expensive part of owning one. A craft costs 2 [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) and 1 [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) and yields **10 units**, so topping off the full 100-unit tank runs you 20 Crude Oil and 10 Refined Ingot every time. Buying it instead costs 280 Gold a unit from the Caravan Shop — that's 28,000 Gold for one tank, which makes crafting it the obvious call unless you're mid-fight and desperate. Each unit weighs 0.01 and stacks to 9,999, so carrying spare fuel costs you almost nothing once it's made.

| Source | Amount | Chance |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Craft at | 10 per craft | 2 Crude Oil + 1 Refined Ingot |
| Caravan Shop | Unlimited | 280 Gold each |
| [Oil rig crates](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=oilrigcrate) (56 pins) | 100–200 | 14.29% |
| Junk hauls while fishing in the Sakurajima | 5–10 | 25.0% |

The oil rig crates are the standout here — a single hit rolls 100 to 200 fuel, which is one to two full tanks from one container, and there are 56 crate pins to sweep. If you're already running the rigs for schematics, you'll come home with more fuel than you can burn. Junk hauls while fishing in the Sakurajima proc more often at 25% but pay 5–10, so treat those as passive top-ups rather than a farm.

## Flamethrower Schematics and Where They Drop

There are four Flamethrower Schematics, and each one unlocks a higher-rarity build of the same weapon: Schematic 1 for Uncommon, 2 for Rare, 3 for Epic, and 4 for the Legendary Flame Thrower. Every schematic in the game shares one rolled-scroll icon in your inventory, so read the name and the border colour rather than the picture when you loot one. All four are pure loot — no Technology unlock gets you there, so the only way to chase them is to farm the containers they roll in.

| Source | Schematic 1 | Schematic 2 | Schematic 3 | Schematic 4 (Legendary) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Treasure chests in the Feybreak Cavern | 19.23% | 3.85% | 0.77% | 0.15% |
| [Chests in the Sakurajima](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=chest_sakurajima) (68 pins) | 11.44% | 2.29% | 0.46% | 0.09% |
| Fishing in the Sakurajima | 11.44% | 2.29% | 0.46% | 0.09% |
| [Enemy camp loot in the Sakurajima](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=camp) (48 pins) | 10.45% | 2.09% | 0.42% | 0.08% |
| Fishing in the Feybreak | 8.09% | 1.62% | 0.32% | 0.06% |
| [Crates on the oil rigs](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=oilrigcrate) (56 pins) | 8.00% | 4.00% | 2.00% | 0.50% |
| [Chests in the Feybreak](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=chest_feybreak) (201 pins) | 7.64% | 1.53% | 0.31% | 0.06% |
| Treasure map digs (tier 4) | — | 6.41% | 2.56% | 1.03% |
| Fishing the treasure spots in the Feybreak | 2.79% | 0.56% | 0.11% | 0.02% |
| Salvaging wrecks (rank 2) | 2.62% | 0.52% | 0.10% | 0.02% |
| Crates on the large oil rig | — | — | — | 1.47% |

Read that table by column, not by row, because the best farm changes at every tier. For Schematic 1 the Feybreak Cavern chests are far and away the best at **19.23%** — roughly one in five. For Schematics 2 and 3 the answer flips to **tier 4 treasure map digs** at 6.41% and 2.56%, which beat every chest in the game for those two tiers. And for the Legendary Schematic 4, the **large oil rig crates lead at 1.47%**, with tier 4 digs close behind at 1.03% — everything else is under half a percent. The 201 Feybreak chest pins look tempting because of the sheer count, but per-container they're worse than the Sakurajima chests at every tier.

### Merging Schematics Into the Legendary Version

You don't have to wait on that 1.47% roll. Duplicate schematics merge upward at a flat **5-to-1 rate** — five Schematic 1s make a Schematic 2, five of those make a Schematic 3, and five of those make the Legendary Schematic 4. Do the multiplication and a Legendary Flame Thrower costs **125 copies of Schematic 1** if you build it purely from the bottom. That sounds brutal until you look at the 19.23% Feybreak Cavern rate, which is the whole reason the merge path is usually faster than chasing the Legendary drop directly. Anything you pick up at tier 2 or 3 along the way cuts that 125 down hard, so never sell a duplicate.

| Schematic | Rarity it unlocks | Merge cost | Best drop source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Flamethrower Schematic 1](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_FlameThrower_2) | Uncommon | Drop only | Feybreak Cavern chests, 19.23% |
| [Flamethrower Schematic 2](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_FlameThrower_3) | Rare | 5× Schematic 1 | Tier 4 treasure map digs, 6.41% |
| [Flamethrower Schematic 3](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_FlameThrower_4) | Epic | 5× Schematic 2 | Tier 4 treasure map digs, 2.56% |
| [Flamethrower Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_FlameThrower_5) | Legendary | 5× Schematic 3 | Large oil rig crates, 1.47% |

## Flamethrower vs the Other Sustained-Fire Guns

Three weapons in Palworld hold a 100-unit magazine and pour damage out continuously, and the Flamethrower is the first one you can build. It unlocks two levels before the [Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/GatlingGun) and seven before the [Laser Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/LaserGatlingGun), weighs 5 less than either, and is worth a third of the Gatling Gun's value in Gold. Where it loses is feeding time: its ammo crafts **10 per batch** while both Gatling types craft **50**, and a unit of fuel costs 280 Gold against 60 for Gatling Gun Ammo. That is the real trade — the Flamethrower is the cheap, early, light option that is expensive to keep firing.

| Weapon | Unlock | Attack | Magazine | Durability | Weight | Ammo cost each |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Flame Thrower](https://palworld-db.com/item/FlameThrower) | Lv. 52 | 636 | 100 | 6,000 | 45 | 280 Gold |
| [Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/GatlingGun) | Lv. 54 | 375 | 100 | 6,000 | 50 | 60 Gold |
| [Laser Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/LaserGatlingGun) | Lv. 59 | 530 | 100 | 8,000 | 50 | 110 Gold |

Those attack figures are all Common-rarity base values for weapons in the same sustained-fire class, so they're a fair comparison against each other — but the Flamethrower's flame tick and a Gatling's bullet don't land on the same schedule, so the 636 doesn't mean it flatly out-damages the other two. What it does mean is that at Level 52, with no Legendary schematic in your pocket, nothing else in this class is available to you yet.

## Best Pals to Farm Flame Organ

Thirty [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) per Flamethrower, plus more for every fire craft at this tier, means you want a dedicated route. All 37 Fire Pals that carry it drop it at a **100% rate**, so this is purely a question of how many each one gives and how fast you can find them. [Blazamut](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut) is the flat best at a guaranteed 10 per kill — no roll, no variance — which clears a third of the recipe in three kills. [Suzaku](https://palworld-db.com/pal/suzaku) rolls 5–10 and is the better option if you're already flying that region, while [Ragnahawk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/ragnahawk) at 5–7 is the most convenient of the group because you likely already have one as a mount.

| Pal | Flame Organ per kill | Drop rate |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Blazamut](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut) | 10 | 100% |
| [Suzaku](https://palworld-db.com/pal/suzaku) | 5–10 | 100% |
| [Bushi Noct](https://palworld-db.com/pal/bushi-noct) | 4–8 | 100% |
| [Ragnahawk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/ragnahawk) | 5–7 | 100% |
| [Reptyro](https://palworld-db.com/pal/reptyro) | 5–7 | 100% |
| [Pyrin](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pyrin) | 4–5 | 100% |

Check any of their pages for exact spawn zones, or open the [Palworld interactive map](https://palworld-db.com/map) and filter by the Pal to see every point it appears. Butchering works here too if you'd rather convert caught Pals than hunt wild ones.

> **Tip.** Unlock [Flamethrower Fuel](https://palworld-db.com/item/FlamethrowerBullet) in the same session you unlock the weapon — it's only 1 Technology Point at the same Lv. 52 gate, and the gun is unusable without it. And before you spend 125 Schematic 1s merging your way to Legendary, sweep the [56 oil rig crate pins](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=oilrigcrate): they're the best odds in the game for Schematics 2 through 4 outside treasure maps, and they drop 100–200 fuel on the side.
