The Gigantic Furnace is the level 58 smelter that turns on the entire late game — it is the first bench in Palworld that can refine [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel) and [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot), and ten structures plus every energy weapon in the game are locked behind those two bars. This guide covers the unlock cost, the full build bill broken all the way down to raw ore, all seven recipes it can run, where its inputs come from, and which Kindling Pals to put in front of it.

## Gigantic Furnace at a Glance

It sits in the **Production** tab of the build menu, two furnace tiers above the [Electric Furnace](https://palworld-db.com/structures) you unlocked at level 44. Two details define it. First, it is the fourth of five furnaces and the point where smelting stops being a background chore and becomes the thing gating your gear — [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel) and [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot) cannot be made anywhere else until the Ancient Furnace arrives eight levels later. Second, it draws **1,500 power**, triple the Electric Furnace's 500, so you need a generator and an Electric Pal running before you place it or it will sit there cold.

| What | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Type | Base structure, **Production** tab |
| Technology level | Lv. 58 |
| Point cost | **5 Technology Points** — the ordinary kind, not Ancient |

| Power draw | 1,500 (Electric Furnace: 500, Ancient Furnace: 3,000) |
| Work required | Kindling **Lv. 1** |

| Exclusive recipes | [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel) and [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot) |
| Total recipes | 7, counting the four lower-tier smelts it inherits |

## How to Unlock the Gigantic Furnace

The unlock itself is cheap and unconditional: reach **character level 58**, open the Technology screen, and spend **5 Technology Points** on the Gigantic Furnace node. There is no boss kill, no schematic and no Ancient Technology Point involved, which makes it one of the easier level 58 unlocks to justify — the row it sits on also holds the Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator and the Advanced Sphere Assembly Line, and both of those want Hexolite you cannot make yet. Unlock the furnace first and the rest of the row opens up behind it.

What actually gates you is the shopping list, not the node. Before you can place one you need:
- **Level 58** and 5 spare Technology Points.
- A [Power Generator or Large Power Generator](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-large-power-generator) with an Electric Pal on it, because the furnace pulls 1,500 power.
- The **Crude Oil Extractor** (level 50) or a steady Crude Oil supply, since 186 Plasteel is the bulk of the build.
- A **Production Assembly Line** (level 29) and **Production Assembly Line II** (level 42) — Polymer, Circuit Boards, Carbon Fiber, Bio Batteries and Computers all come off those two benches.
- At least one Kindling Pal in the base to light it.

## Gigantic Furnace Materials and Full Raw Bill

Four materials go on the build panel, and three of them are themselves crafted. The [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) is the only line you can farm directly — the other three are the tail end of a supply chain that starts at oil fields and copper nodes. Plasteel is the expensive one by a distance: the 150 on the panel plus the 36 hidden inside the Computers works out to 186 bars, and at 200,000 crafting workload each that alone is **37,200,000 workload** before you count anything else.

| Material | Qty | Where it comes from |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Plasteel](https://palworld-db.com/item/Plastic) | 150 | Electric Furnace — 2 [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) + 5 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) per bar |
| [Polymer](https://palworld-db.com/item/Polymer) | 100 | Production Assembly Line — 2 [High Quality Pal Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalOil) + 1 [Sulfur](https://palworld-db.com/item/Sulfur) each |
| [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) | 200 | Drops from 37 Fire Pals — [Blazamut](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut) gives a flat 10 per kill |
| [Computer](https://palworld-db.com/item/Computer) | 12 | Production Assembly Line II — 2 [Circuit Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2) + 3 Plasteel + 2 [Bio Battery](https://palworld-db.com/item/Bio_Battery) + 2 [Carbon Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/CarbonFiber) each |

Expand every sub-craft and the real bill is the table below. Ore is the headline number at **978**, and almost all of it (930) is eaten by Plasteel — five per bar adds up fast. The 480 Wood is only there to become 240 Charcoal for Carbon Fiber, so a Lumbering Pal at base covers it passively. Add up the crafting workload across every intermediate step and one Gigantic Furnace costs roughly **43.5 million workload** of bench time, which is why you want this queued on an Advanced Workshop with a good Handiwork crew rather than hand-cranked.

| Raw material | Total needed | How to get it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) | 978 | [1,632 ore nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_copperore) on the map |
| [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) | 480 | [4,654 lumber nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_lumber), or a Lumbering Pal at base |
| [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) | 372 | [185 oil fields](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=oilfield) with a Crude Oil Extractor on top |
| [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan) | 248 | 37 Fire Pals drop it — [Suzaku](https://palworld-db.com/pal/suzaku) gives 5–10, [Ragnahawk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/ragnahawk) 5–7 |
| [High Quality Pal Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalOil) | 248 | 25 Pals drop it — [Mammorest](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest) gives 5–10 |
| [Sulfur](https://palworld-db.com/item/Sulfur) | 124 | [655 sulfur nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_sulfur), mostly in the desert |
| [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) | 48 | [607 pure quartz nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_purequartz) |
| [Coal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Coal) | 48 | [824 coal nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_coal), or 10 per [Blazamut](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut) |
| [Electric Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/ElectricOrgan) | 24 | 23 Electric Pals drop it — [Prixter Lux](https://palworld-db.com/pal/prixter-lux) gives 4–5 |

> **Tip.** Build the [Crude Oil Extractor](https://palworld-db.com/structures) before you start saving for the furnace. 372 Crude Oil is the one line you cannot rush by killing things — the only Pals that drop it give 1 at a 50% rate, so an extractor parked on an oil field is the difference between a weekend project and a week.

## All Craftable Items at the Gigantic Furnace

Seven recipes in total. Two of them — Hexolite and Coralum Ingot — are the reason the building exists and cannot be made at any earlier bench; the other five are inherited from the furnace tiers below, so a Gigantic Furnace quietly replaces every furnace you already own. Watch the workload column rather than the material list, because that is what decides throughput: Hexolite and Coralum Ingot are **500,000 workload per single bar**, five hundred times a batch of Charcoal and more than double a bar of Plasteel. One Kindling Pal will not keep up, and that is exactly why this furnace was built large enough for a crew.

| Product | Materials per craft | Workload | First unlocked at |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel) | 1 [Chromite](https://palworld-db.com/item/Chromium) + 1 [Hexolite Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/RainbowCrystal) | 500,000 | **Gigantic Furnace** |
| [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot) | 2 [Coralum Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseOre) + 5 [Coal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Coal) | 500,000 | **Gigantic Furnace** |
| [Plasteel](https://palworld-db.com/item/Plastic) | 2 [Crude Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/CrudeOil) + 5 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) | 200,000 | Electric Furnace |
| [Pal Metal Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealIngot) | 4 Ore + 1 [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) + 2 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) | 50,000 | Electric Furnace |
| [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) | 2 Ore + 2 Coal | 7,000 | Improved Furnace |
| [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot) | 2 Ore | 1,000 | Primitive Furnace |
| [Charcoal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Charcoal) | 2 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) | 1,000 | Primitive Furnace |

### Hexolite

Hexolite is an alloy of [Chromite](https://palworld-db.com/item/Chromium) and [Hexolite Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/RainbowCrystal), one of each per bar, and it is the single most demanded material in the level 59-65 gear band — 63 different craftable items list it. Both inputs are cheap in isolation and neither can be bought, so the real cost is 500,000 workload a bar. Queue it in long batches and leave the furnace running while you do something else; stopping and restarting the queue wastes the ramp-up your crew builds.

### Coralum Ingot

Coralum Ingot takes 2 [Coralum Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseOre) and 5 Coal per bar at the same 500,000 workload. It is the rarer of the two in practice because Coralum Ore comes off the ocean floor and only three Pals drop it, while Coal is sitting on 824 map nodes. Thirty-five items want Coralum Ingot, and the [Charge Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifle) alone asks for 200 of them — plan on a long production run before you attempt the top-tier guns.

### The Lower Tiers It Absorbs

Plasteel, Pal Metal Ingot, Refined Ingot, Ingot and Charcoal all still run here, which matters more than it sounds: a base with one Gigantic Furnace no longer needs a row of [Primitive Furnaces](https://palworld-db.com/structures) taking up floor space and worker attention. The catch is the power bill — 1,500 for one Gigantic Furnace versus nothing at all for the two lowest tiers. If all you are doing is burning Wood into Charcoal, keep a Primitive Furnace on the side and save the big one for the 500,000-workload jobs.

## Where to Get Chromite, Hexolite Quartz and Coralum Ore

The three exclusive inputs behave very differently, and knowing which is which saves a lot of wasted flying. Hexolite Quartz is the easy one — it is a mineable node with 635 pins scattered across the main island, so a single circuit tops you up. Chromite and Coralum Ore are Pal drops only, with no nodes at all, which means your farming route is really a hunting route. [Neptilius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/neptilius) is the standout: 10 Coralum Ore per kill at a guaranteed rate, roughly four times what a [Whalaska](https://palworld-db.com/pal/whalaska) gives you.

| Input | Best source | Yield | Also from |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Hexolite Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/RainbowCrystal) | [635 mineable nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_hexolitequartz) | Node mining | [Celesdir](https://palworld-db.com/pal/celesdir) drops 2–3 |
| [Chromite](https://palworld-db.com/item/Chromium) | [Silvegis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/silvegis) | 2–3 per kill, 100% | [Smokie](https://palworld-db.com/pal/smokie) drops 1–2 |
| [Coralum Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseOre) | [Neptilius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/neptilius) | 10 per kill, 100% | [Whalaska](https://palworld-db.com/pal/whalaska) and [Whalaska Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/whalaska-ignis) drop 2–3 |
| [Coal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Coal) | [824 coal nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_coal) | Node mining | [Blazamut](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut) drops 10, [Pierdon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pierdon) 4–5 |

Only three Pals in the game drop Coralum Ore, so it is worth reading the [full Coralum Ore locations guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/where-to-find-coralum-ore) before you commit an evening to it — there is a fishing angle that saves a lot of swimming. For Chromite, Silvegis is the better target of the two despite Smokie being far easier to find, simply because you get two to three times the ore per fight.

## What Hexolite and Coralum Ingot Unlock

This is the payoff, and it is bigger than the furnace's own cost suggests. Every energy weapon in Palworld runs on one or both of these bars, and attack numbers only mean something inside their own class — the [Charge Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifle) at 12,500 is the hardest-hitting assault rifle in the game, while the [Laser Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/LaserGatlingGun) at 530 is the better of the only two gatling guns. Note that these are the base-rarity versions; the schematic upgrades push the numbers higher and the material costs with them.

| Weapon | Class | Base Attack | Hexolite | Coralum Ingot | Tech |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Charge Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/ChargeLaserRifle) | Assault Rifle | 12,500 | — | 200 | 65 |
| [Plasma Cannon](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyRocketLauncher) | Rocket Launcher | 10,000 | 130 | — | 61 |
| [Rocket Launcher](https://palworld-db.com/item/Launcher_Default) | Rocket Launcher | 10,000 | — | 75 | 65 |
| [Overheat Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/OverheatRifle) | Assault Rifle | 1,225 | 135 | 160 | 64 |
| [Laser Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/LaserGatlingGun) | Gatling Gun | 530 | 100 | — | 59 |
| [Energy Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyShotgun) | Shotgun | 402 | 130 | 155 | 63 |
| [Megaboost Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalDopingShot_2) | Handgun | 250 | 120 | 150 | 63 |

Armor is the other half. The Hexolite set is the second-strongest body armor family in the game behind Ancient Armor — [Hexolite Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFArmor) gives 580 defense and 1,750 HP for 50 Hexolite and 20 Plasteel, and the Cold, Heat and Lightweight variants all reach 600 defense. [Lightweight Hexolite Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFArmorWeight) is the one to aim for if you plan to carry ore, though it doubles the Hexolite cost to 100 per piece. Pair any of them with the [Hexolite Helmet](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFHelmet) at 350 defense and you have a kit that carries you from level 59 to the Ancient tier.

Ten base structures also need these bars, and one of them is the furnace that replaces this one — the [Ancient Furnace](https://palworld-db.com/structures) at level 66 costs 100 Coralum Ingot, so there is no route to the top furnace that skips this one.

| Structure | Tech | Cost from this furnace |
| --- | --- | --- |
| | 66 | 100 Coralum Ingot |
| | 58 | 100 Hexolite |
| | 62 | 50 Hexolite + 50 Coralum Ingot |
| | 61 | 50 Hexolite |
| | 58 | 50 Hexolite |
| | 63 | 50 Coralum Ingot |
| | 64 | 30 Coralum Ingot |
| | 59 | 20 Hexolite |
| | 69 | 10 Coralum Ingot |

## Best Pals to Run the Gigantic Furnace

The staffing requirement is generous — Kindling **Lv. 1** is all the furnace asks, so every one of the 44 Kindling Pals technically qualifies. What separates them is how much work each one contributes per tick, and with 500,000-workload recipes on the menu that difference is enormous over a session. [Renjishi](https://palworld-db.com/pal/renjishi) is alone at Kindling Lv. 8 and is the single best worker you can put here; below it, [Jormuntide Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jormuntide-ignis), [Flaracle](https://palworld-db.com/pal/flaracle) and [Dupin](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dupin) share Lv. 7. Size matters too — Jormuntide Ignis is XL and eats base space, so Flaracle and Dupin are the friendlier picks for a crowded base.

| Pal | Kindling | Size | Why bring it |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Renjishi](https://palworld-db.com/pal/renjishi) | Lv. 8 | L | The only Lv. 8 Kindling Pal in the game — nothing else clears a 500,000-workload queue faster |
| [Flaracle](https://palworld-db.com/pal/flaracle) | Lv. 7 | M | Top-tier Kindling in a medium body, so it fits bases where the XL options do not |
| [Dupin](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dupin) | Lv. 7 | M | Same Lv. 7 output as Flaracle, and the easier of the two to get hold of |
| [Jormuntide Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jormuntide-ignis) | Lv. 7 | XL | Lv. 7 Kindling, but XL — worth the footprint only if the furnace is your base's main job |
| [Blazamut](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut) | Lv. 6 | XL | Doubles as a farm target: drops 10 Flame Organ and 10 Coal per kill |
| [Faleris](https://palworld-db.com/pal/faleris) | Lv. 6 | L | Lv. 6 Kindling and a flying mount, so it earns its slot outside the base too |
| [Ragnahawk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/ragnahawk) | Lv. 4 | L | The realistic pick before level 50 — mountable, and drops 5–7 Flame Organ |

## Gigantic Furnace vs the Other Furnaces

Five furnaces, and each one is defined by the single alloy it adds rather than by raw speed. The first two are free to run and cost almost nothing to build; from the Electric Furnace onward you are paying a power bill for the privilege. The Gigantic Furnace is the biggest jump on the ladder — it triples the Electric Furnace's power draw but adds the two alloys that every level 59+ weapon, armor piece and structure is built from. The Ancient Furnace above it smelts everything including [Soralite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyislandIngot), but it costs 100 Coralum Ingot and needs Cooling Pals as well as Kindling, so it is a genuine upgrade rather than a replacement you rush.

| Furnace | Tech | Points | Power | Adds |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | 10 | 3 | None | [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot), [Charcoal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Charcoal) |
| | 34 | 4 | None | [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) |
| | 44 | 5 | 500 | [Pal Metal Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealIngot), [Plasteel](https://palworld-db.com/item/Plastic) |
| | 58 | 5 | **1,500** | **[Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel), [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot)** |
| | 66 | 5 | 3,000 | [Soralite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyislandIngot) — needs Kindling **and** Cooling |

> **Tip.** Do not tear down the Electric Furnace when the Gigantic one goes up. Plasteel is 200,000 workload a bar and you will still be burning through it for armor and Computers long after level 58 — running both in parallel, with the big furnace on Hexolite and the small one on Plasteel, roughly halves the time to your first full Hexolite set.

## Summary

Hit level 58, spend 5 Technology Points, and pay 150 Plasteel, 100 Polymer, 200 Flame Organ and 12 Computer — about 978 raw Ore and 372 Crude Oil once you trace it all back. Feed it Chromite and Hexolite Quartz for Hexolite, Coralum Ore and Coal for Coralum Ingot, and staff it with the highest-Kindling Pal you own. Everything from Hexolite Armor to the Charge Rifle to the Ancient Furnace itself runs through this one building.
