# How to Get Large Incubator: Unlock Level and Materials

The Large Incubator unlocks at player level 48 for 5 Ancient Technology Points and costs 50 Pal Metal Ingot, 20 High Quality Cloth, 20 Ancient Civilization Parts and 4 Ancient Civilization Core. Full build cost traced to raw materials, where to farm every line, and how it compares to all five incubators.

The **Large Incubator** is the box that finally clears an egg backlog — it takes several eggs at once, holds its own temperature, and draws no power at all. This guide covers the level 48 unlock, the full build cost traced down to raw ore and wool, the fastest farm for every line, how it measures up against the other four incubators, and the research that shortens every hatch after it.

## Large Incubator at a Glance

It lives in the **Pal** tab of the build menu, next to the [Breeding Farm](https://palworld-db.com/structures) and the Palbox. Two details are the whole pitch. First, it handles temperature itself, so the ring of Campfires or [Cooler Boxes](https://palworld-db.com/structures) you built around your first [Egg Incubator](https://palworld-db.com/structures) stops being part of the layout. Second, it does that on **zero power** — the [Electric Egg Incubator](https://palworld-db.com/structures) one tier below it pulls 200 and the Large-Scale version above it pulls 800, so this is the only incubator in the game that does multi-egg hatching without a generator and a Pal standing on it.

## How to Unlock the Large Incubator

Reach player level 48, open the [Palworld Technology Tree](https://palworld-db.com/tech), and spend 5 **Ancient** Technology Points. That is the catch — Ancient points do not come from levelling. They come from the 10 [tower boss Pals](https://palworld-db.com/tower-bosses) and from Ancient Technical Manuals, and all 51 Ancient technologies together demand 185 points, so nothing in this pool is a casual purchase. The good news at this particular level: the Large Incubator is the **only Ancient node on level 48**, so nothing competes with it the moment it appears. The nodes on either side are what you should be weighing it against instead.

| Ancient technology | Level | Ancient points | Take it before the incubator? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | 46 | 5 | Only if you are burning through ammo — sulfur is otherwise a mining trip |
| | 48 | 5 | **Yes** — nothing else on level 48 wants Ancient points, and it pays out on every breeding project after it |
| | 50 | 4 | Yes, if you are running electric stations — but the incubator needs no power, so it is not a prerequisite |
| | 52 | 5 | Later. Handy, but you can mine the 50 Pure Quartz this build needs off the map for free |

If you are short on Ancient points, the fix is not levelling — it is looting. Late-region enemy camp stashes hand over an Ancient Technical Manual every single clear, which is the only farmable source in the game. The full route is in [How to Get More Technology Points and Ancient Points](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-technology-points).

## Large Incubator Materials

Four lines on the build screen, and they are four completely different afternoons. The 50 [Pal Metal Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealIngot) is the bulk of the work — 2,500,000 crafting workload once you count every bar. The 20 [High Quality Cloth](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cloth2) is the cheapest line and the one you can outright buy. The 20 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) is three alpha kills. The 4 [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) is the only line that can actually stall you, because two of the three sources are things you have to go beat.

| Material | Qty | How to get it | Sell value each |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Pal Metal Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealIngot) | 50 | Refined in a furnace: 4 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) + 1 [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) + 2 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) per bar | 1,250 Gold |
| [High Quality Cloth](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cloth2) | 20 | Crafted at the High-Quality Workbench (Tech Lv. 36): 10 [Wool](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wool) + 1 [Leather](https://palworld-db.com/item/Leather) per cloth — or bought outright from a caravan | 2,640 Gold |
| [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) | 20 | Dropped by every [alpha boss](https://palworld-db.com/alpha-pals) in the game at a 100% rate, 2–9 per kill depending on the alpha | 1,000 Gold |
| [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | 4 | [Silvance](https://palworld-db.com/pal/silvance) and [Dandilord](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dandilord) drop one every time; [raid bosses](https://palworld-db.com/raids) pay 1–10; high-grade chests roll them | 2,000 Gold |

### Pal Metal Ingot ×50

Each bar takes 4 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre), 1 [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) and 2 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S), so 50 bars traces back to **200 Ore, 50 Pure Quartz and 100 Paldium Fragment**. Every bar also carries a 50,000 crafting workload, which is 2,500,000 across the batch — this is the line that decides how long the build takes, not the gathering. Do the mining in one trip and mind the weight: 200 Ore alone weighs 1,600, so bring a hauler or set the run up from a base parked on the nodes. Our [carry weight guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/best-pals-for-carrying-more-items) covers who to bring.

| Raw material | Total for 50 ingots | Where to get it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) | 200 | [1,632 Ore nodes on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_copperore) — the single most common resource node in the game, so mine wherever you already are |
| [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) | 50 | [607 Pure Quartz nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_purequartz), concentrated in the snowfields; the Lv. 52 Pure Quartz Quarry automates it later |
| [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) | 100 | [711 Paldium Ore nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_paldiumore), plus the blue chunks you pick up along shorelines and river beds |

### High Quality Cloth ×20

The recipe unlocks at technology level 36 for 2 ordinary points and runs at the High-Quality Workbench: 10 [Wool](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wool) and 1 [Leather](https://palworld-db.com/item/Leather) per cloth, which is **200 Wool and 20 Leather** for the twenty this build wants. Here is the money detail. A caravan sells finished High Quality Cloth at 2,640 Gold, so buying all 20 costs 52,800. Buying the raw wool and leather instead — both are 200 Gold a piece at village, caravan and wandering merchants — costs 44,000 for the same twenty cloths. Weave it yourself and you keep 8,800 Gold and a trivial 50,000 workload. Better still, put a wool Pal on a [Ranch](https://palworld-db.com/structures) and the line costs nothing at all.

| Wool source | Wool per drop | How it works | Spawn points |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Melpaca](https://palworld-db.com/pal/melpaca) | 2–5 | The best Ranch producer in the game — rank 2 wool and the biggest pen payout, so one pair covers the line passively | [540](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=Alpaca) |
| [Sweepa](https://palworld-db.com/pal/sweepa) | 3–5 | Highest floor of any farmable wool Pal — worth hunting if you want the 200 in one session | [198](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=MopKing) |
| [Lamball](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lamball) | 1–3 | Ranch rank 1 and everywhere in the starting zone. Weakest per head, strongest in sheer availability | [702](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=SheepBall) |
| [Cremis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/cremis) | 1–2 | The other Ranch producer. Fine as a second pen if you already have one | [400](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=WoolFox) |
| [Kingpaca](https://palworld-db.com/pal/kingpaca) | 5 | A flat 5 every time, the highest single payout — but it does not roam, so it is a boss-arena or breeding target | — |

The [Leather](https://palworld-db.com/item/Leather) half barely registers — 20 pieces, and 78 different Pals drop it. [Mammorest](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest) hands over 5–10 per kill, which means two or three kills settles the whole requirement.

### Ancient Civilization Parts ×20

Every single alpha on the map drops [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) at a 100% rate, so this line is a question of which alpha rather than whether. Payouts run from 2–4 at the low end to 7–9 at the top, meaning **three good alphas cover all 20**. The one worth knowing about is [Foxcicle](https://palworld-db.com/pal/foxcicle): it is a level 15 alpha that pays 6–8 Parts, a bracket everything else only reaches in the sixties. At level 48 that fight is a formality. If you want to bank Parts alongside a serious kill, [Dualith](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dualith) at level 55 is the highest per-kill payout you can reasonably reach at this stage.

| Alpha | Level | Parts per kill | Why bother |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Foxcicle](https://palworld-db.com/pal/foxcicle) | 15 | **6–8** | By far the best payout-to-difficulty ratio in the game — a top-bracket drop from a level 15 fight |
| [Dualith](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dualith) | 55 | **7–9** | The biggest per-kill drop within reach, and the only Parts alpha with two locations on the map |
| [Kingpaca Cryst](https://palworld-db.com/pal/kingpaca-cryst) | 46 | 5–7 | Level-appropriate, and it drops [Wool](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wool) for the cloth line on the same kill |
| [Menasting](https://palworld-db.com/pal/menasting) | 44 | 5–7 | Easiest of the mid-forties alphas to reach if you have the desert unlocked |
| [Beakon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/beakon) | 37 | 5–6 | A safe filler kill well under your level when you need the last handful |

Alphas do not respawn instantly, so plan a small circuit rather than farming one point. Every alpha and its level is pinned on the [alpha boss list](https://palworld-db.com/alpha-pals) and the [interactive Palworld map](https://palworld-db.com/map).

### Ancient Civilization Core ×4

Cores are the line you cannot brute-force with gold or workload. Only two Pals drop them reliably — [Silvance](https://palworld-db.com/pal/silvance) and [Dandilord](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dandilord) — and neither of them roams the wild, so both come from [breeding](https://palworld-db.com/breeding). That is the sustainable answer: get one pair going and Cores stop being a bottleneck for every Ancient structure after this one. If you just need four right now, a raid altar is faster. Even the earliest one — Bellanoir at level 35, summoned from any of the [16 raid altars on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=raidaltar) — guarantees 1–3 Cores per clear.

| Source | Cores | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Silvance](https://palworld-db.com/pal/silvance) | 1 | 100% per kill — breeding only, see [how to breed Silvance](https://palworld-db.com/breeding/silvance) |
| [Dandilord](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dandilord) | 1 | 100% per kill — breeding only, see [how to breed Dandilord](https://palworld-db.com/breeding/dandilord) |
| [Bellanoir raid](https://palworld-db.com/raids) | 1–3 | Level 35 altar summon, guaranteed — the earliest raid you can farm for Cores |
| [Moon Lord raid](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-beat-moon-lord-raid-boss) | 4–6 | Level 50, guaranteed — the best Core payout before Xenolord |
| [Bellanoir Libero raid](https://palworld-db.com/guides/bellanoir-libero-raid-guide) | 2–4 | Level 45, guaranteed; the level 80 tier hands over a flat 10 |
| [Blazamut Ryu raid](https://palworld-db.com/guides/blazamut-ryu-raid-guide) | 2–4 | Level 55, guaranteed; the level 80 tier hands over a flat 10 |
| [Xenolord raid](https://palworld-db.com/guides/xenolord-raid-guide) | 3–6 | Level 65, guaranteed — the best payout of the mid raids |
| [Hartalis raid](https://palworld-db.com/guides/hartalis-raid-guide) | 4–7 | Level 70, guaranteed; the level 80 tier hands over a flat 10 |
| High-grade treasure chests | 1–3 | Late-region chests roll them; worth opening everything while you are out farming Parts |

## Large Incubator vs Every Other Incubator

Palworld gives you five incubators across the whole run, and the difference between them is not hatching speed — it is capacity, temperature and whether you have to wire the thing up. The base [Egg Incubator](https://palworld-db.com/structures) is one egg and no climate control, which is why the classic mid-game base is a row of them alternating with Campfires. The Electric version fixes temperature but demands 200 power. The Large Incubator is the first one that solves capacity **and** temperature while staying off the grid entirely, which is exactly why it is worth 5 Ancient points at level 48. The two above it are strictly endgame projects: 20 Cores for the Large-Scale Electric, and the [Ancient Hatchery](https://palworld-db.com/structures) at level 76 that breeds and hatches in the same box.

| Incubator | Level | Ancient points | Materials | Power | What it solves |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | 10 | 1 | 10 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S), 5 Cloth, 30 Stone, 2 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) | None | One egg, and the surrounding temperature is your problem |
| | 36 | 5 | 50 [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot), 15 [Circuit Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2), 5 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex), 2 [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | 200 | Temperature only — still one egg, and now it needs a grid |
| | **48** | 5 | 50 [Pal Metal Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/StealIngot), 20 [High Quality Cloth](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cloth2), 20 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex), 4 [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | **None** | Multiple eggs **and** temperature, with nothing plugged in |
| | 58 | 5 | 100 [Hexolite](https://palworld-db.com/item/StainlessSteel), 50 [Circuit Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2), 30 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex), 20 [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | 800 | Same job as the Large, at five times the Core cost and a heavy power draw |
| | 76 | 8 | 100 [Paloxite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeIngot), 50 [AI Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AIcore), 30 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex), 20 [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | 1,200 | Breeds and hatches in one box and raises rare skill inheritance — the endgame answer |

> **Tip.** Do not skip this one on the way to the Large-Scale Electric. The Large-Scale costs **20 Ancient Civilization Cores** to the Large Incubator's 4, and its only real advantage is capacity you will not miss for another ten levels — while its 800 power draw needs a generator crew of its own. Build the Large Incubator at 48 and spend the Cores you save on gear.

## Keeping It Full: Breeding Farm and Egg Nests

A multi-egg incubator only earns its cost if eggs arrive faster than one at a time, and there are two taps. The [Breeding Farm](https://palworld-db.com/structures) is the reliable one: a level 19 unlock for 2 Ancient points, one pair per farm, a Cake in the feed box, and the pairing alone decides the child. The timing here is almost too neat — [Vegetable Cake](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cake03) unlocks at technology level 47, one level before this incubator, and it lays **two eggs at once**. Bake that instead of Mushroom Cake and a row of farms produces exactly the kind of backlog the Large Incubator was built for. The [cake guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-cakes-in-palworld) has all five recipes and what each one bends.

The other tap is the map. Wild egg nests are scattered across every region in four grades, and a sweep of them is free eggs with no cake cost at all — worth doing on any trip you were already taking.

| Egg nest grade | Pins on the map | Worth a detour? |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Grade 1 nests](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=egg_g1) | 1,168 on the main island, 30 more in the World Tree | Everywhere. Grab them in passing rather than planning around them |
| [Grade 2 nests](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=egg_g2) | 446 | The sweet spot — common enough to route, better contents than Grade 1 |
| [Grade 3 nests](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=egg_g3) | 146 | Yes. Plan a circuit; this is where a nest run stops being filler |
| [Grade 4 nests](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=egg_g4) | 26 | The rarest nests in the game — learn all 26 and check them every session |

## Hatch Faster: Incubation Acceleration Research

The incubator itself has no speed stat you can upgrade, but the [Pal Labor Research Lab](https://palworld-db.com/research) does. **Incubation Acceleration** appears twice — four levels on the Kindling branch and four more on the Cooling branch — and they stack, so clearing all eight is +60% hatching speed for every egg in every incubator you own. What almost nobody notices is how lopsided the two lines are. The Cooling line asks for 270,000 total research workload; the Kindling line asks for 7,200,000 for the identical bonus. That is roughly **27 times the work for the same +30%**. Run the Cooling side first, every time.

| Upgrade | Hatching speed | Cooling-line workload | Kindling-line workload |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Incubation Acceleration Lv1 | +5% | **15,000** | 200,000 |
| Incubation Acceleration Lv2 | +10% | **30,000** | 500,000 |
| Incubation Acceleration Lv3 | +5% | **75,000** | 1,500,000 |
| Incubation Acceleration Lv4 | +10% | **150,000** | 5,000,000 |
| Both lines cleared | **+60%** | 270,000 total | 7,200,000 total |

Materials follow the branch. The Cooling line runs on [Ice Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/IceOrgan), [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) and [Swee Hair](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalItem_MopBaby); the Kindling line wants [Flame Organ](https://palworld-db.com/item/FireOrgan), [Charcoal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Charcoal) and ingots up to [Plasteel](https://palworld-db.com/item/Plastic). Both lines want [Ancient Pal Manuscript](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts3) at every level and [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) from Lv2 onward, so bank a few extra Parts while you are farming the 20 for the build. Each line also sits behind its branch's first speed project, so you cannot start Incubation Acceleration until Cooling Lv1 or Kindling Lv1 is done.

On the Pal side, check the worker on your Breeding Farm before you assign whoever is idle. **Philanthropist** doubles breeding speed outright, and **Babysitter** adds +30% egg production and +30% incubation — the latter is a mutation passive, which the [mutated egg guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-mutated-eggs) covers.

## Is the Large Incubator Worth Building?

Yes, and it is one of the easier Ancient point calls in the tree. Nothing else on level 48 wants Ancient points, the build costs a single-digit number of Cores where the next tier up costs 20, and it removes the two most annoying things about mid-game hatching in one purchase: the one-egg limit and the campfire ring. The materials are all farmable at your level — 200 Ore and 50 Pure Quartz off the map, 200 Wool from a Ranch pen, 20 Parts from three alpha kills — and the only line that can hold you up is four Cores, which one raid clear or one breeding pair solves permanently. Build it at 48, pair it with Vegetable Cake from 47, and skip the Large-Scale Electric until Cores stop being precious.
