Ore Mining Site II is the level 39 Ancient Technology that makes your base spit out [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) five times faster than the original mining site does. This guide covers the 3 Ancient Technology Points it costs, all four build materials and the fastest route to each, exactly how much quicker it is than the [Ore Mining Site](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Ore%20Mining%20Site) you already own, and which Mining Pals deserve a spot on it.

## Ore Mining Site II at a Glance

This is an upgrade in the purest sense: it makes the same material as the building it replaces, just far quicker. Every other quarry on the tree hands you a new resource — the [Coal Quarry](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Coal%20Quarry) gives [Coal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Coal), the [Sulfur Quarry](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Sulfur%20Quarry) gives Sulfur — but this one produces [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) exactly like the level 24 site, and the only thing that changes is the number of work points standing between your Pal and each unit. That number drops from 8,000 to 1,600.

| What | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Type | Base structure, **Production** tab of the build menu |
| Technology level | Lv. 39 |
| Technology points | 3 **Ancient** Technology Points (not regular points) |
| Materials | 100 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone), 50 [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot), 40 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S), 10 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) |
| Produces | [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) |
| Work per Ore | 1,600 (the base site needs 8,000) |
| Worker needed | Pals with Mining Lv. 1 or better |
| Work to construct | 10,000 |
| Structure HP | 10,000 (Defense 4) |
| Built from | Stone — it does not burn in raids |
| Power draw | None |
| Other Ancient nodes nearby | Scatter Sphere Launcher at Lv. 38 (5 points), Double Jump Boots at Lv. 40 (2 points) |

Two details are easy to miss. It draws no power at all, so it slots into a starter base with no generator anywhere near it. And it is a stone build, which means Fire raids cannot set it alight the way they can your [Logging Site](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Logging%20Site) — that alone makes the mining pits the safest production buildings to put near a base perimeter.

## How to Unlock Ore Mining Site II

Reach character level 39 and spend 3 Ancient Technology Points in the [technology tree](https://palworld-db.com/research). Ancient points never come from levelling up — they come from Ancient Technical Manuals, which you pull out of boss camps and ruins, so your supply is capped by how much of the world you have cleared rather than by how fast you grind XP. Ore Mining Site II is the only Ancient node sitting at level 39, so nothing on the tree competes with it at that exact moment. What competes is everything above and below it on the list.

| Ancient node | Level | Ancient points | Take it before or after? |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | 24 | 2 | Long before — this is the node that starts your Ore supply at all |
| | 37 | 5 | Before — Coal plus Ore is what makes [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot), and Refined Ingots gate your whole gear tier |
| | 39 | 3 | Here — the cheapest big throughput jump on the entire Ancient tree |
| | 43 | 3 | After — Hardwood is buyable with Gold, Ore realistically is not |
| | 46 | 5 | After — only matters once you are burning through ammo |
| | 50 | 4 | After — but mandatory the moment your base goes electric |
| | 52 | 5 | After — Pal Metal tier and beyond |

If you can only afford one Ancient node in the 37-to-43 stretch, the honest ranking puts [Coal Quarry](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Coal%20Quarry) first and this second, because Coal has no wild-node density anywhere near Ore's and it hard-blocks [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot). But Ore Mining Site II is the best points-per-benefit trade on the tree: 3 points for a fivefold speed increase is cheaper than what the 5-point quarries ask for a single new material. The [full breakdown of technology and Ancient point sources](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-technology-points) lists every chest and camp that hands them out, and the [Ancient Technology ranking](https://palworld-db.com/guides/best-ancient-technology) covers all 51 nodes if you want to plan the whole spend.

## All Build Materials and Where to Get Them

Four materials, and the shape of the bill is a bit of a joke: to build the thing that automates Ore, you first need to hand over 100 Ore's worth of [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot). The [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) and [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) are irrelevant at level 39, and the 10 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) are two alpha kills. Everything you actually have to plan for is in the Ingot row.

| Material | Qty | Fastest route | Difficulty |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot) | 50 | Smelt 100 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) in a furnace — 2 Ore per Ingot | The real cost — 50,000 furnace work |
| [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) | 100 | Any rock, or the [Stone Pit](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Stone%20Pit) you built at level 7 | Trivial |
| [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) | 40 | [711 Paldium Ore nodes on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_paldiumore), or 70 Gold each from a Wandering Trader | Trivial |
| [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) | 10 | Two alpha kills — every alpha drops them at 100% | Two fights |

### Ingot: 50 Needed

Fifty [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot) is 100 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) plus 50,000 work at a furnace, and the furnace half is usually the slower half if you are still running a small one. Ore itself is the most abundant mineable resource on the island at 1,632 nodes, so the fastest approach is a dedicated run to a dense node cluster rather than chipping at whatever is near your base. If you are impatient, a Wandering Trader will sell you Ore outright at 100 Gold a unit, which puts the whole 100-Ore requirement at 10,000 Gold — a single shopping trip if you have been offloading dungeon loot.

There is a second supply line most players forget: eight Pals drop Ore on death, all of them at a flat 100% rate. None of these are detours either — several are the same Mining Pals you want staffing the finished building, so a capture run doubles as a materials run.

| Source | Ore per kill | Where | Also useful as |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Pierdon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pierdon) | 4–5 | 16 spawn spots — [show on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=RockBeast) | Mining Lv. 5 worker; the level 50 alpha |
| [Digtoise](https://palworld-db.com/pal/digtoise) | 2–3 | 660 spawn spots — [show on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=DrillGame) | Mining Lv. 4 and by far the easiest to find |
| [Surfent Terra](https://palworld-db.com/pal/surfent-terra) | 2–3 | 590 spawn spots — [show on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=Serpent_Ground) | A rideable mount you probably already have |
| [Cryolinx Terra](https://palworld-db.com/pal/cryolinx-terra) | 2–3 | 156 spawn spots — [show on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=WhiteTiger_Ground) | Mining Lv. 5 plus Lumbering Lv. 6 |
| [Gorirat Terra](https://palworld-db.com/pal/gorirat-terra) | 2–3 | 67 spawn spots — [show on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=Gorilla_Ground) | Cheap early filler |
| [Knocklem Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem-ignis) | 2–3 | 58 spawn spots — [show on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=WingGolem_Fire) | Mining Lv. 7 and Transporting Lv. 7 |
| [Knocklem](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem) | 2–3 | 33 spawn spots — [show on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=WingGolem) | Mining Lv. 7, Transporting Lv. 7, Gathering Lv. 4 |

[Pierdon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pierdon) is the best per-kill yield at 4 to 5, but with only 16 spawn spots you will spend more time travelling than fighting. [Digtoise](https://palworld-db.com/pal/digtoise) is the practical answer — 660 spots is the densest spread of any Ore dropper, it is weak enough to kill in seconds at this level, and every one you sphere instead of killing is a Mining Lv. 4 body for the base. The [full Ore node map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_copperore) is still faster per hour if you just want raw material, but Pal drops are what turn a farming trip into a staffing trip.

### Ancient Civilization Parts: 10 Needed

Ten sounds like a lot until you learn how these drop. Every single alpha Pal in the game hands them over at a flat 100% rate, and the amount scales roughly with the alpha's level — so this requirement is two fights, not a farming session. Pick alphas near your own level rather than the scariest ones you can name; the table runs from the surprise low-level pick to the ones that cover the whole cost in one go.

| Alpha | Level | Parts dropped | Why this one |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Foxcicle](https://palworld-db.com/pal/foxcicle) | 15 | 6–8 | The outlier — it drops more than alphas three times its level, so two kills cover all 10 |
| [Grizzbolt](https://palworld-db.com/pal/grizzbolt) | 30 | 4–5 | Low-level, slow, heavily telegraphed — the safest fight on this list |
| [Mammorest](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest) | 38 | 5–6 | Right at your level when this node unlocks; two kills finish the job |
| [Elizabee](https://palworld-db.com/pal/elizabee) | 39 | 5–6 | Same level as the tech itself, and a Lv. 4 Planting, Handiwork and Gathering worker if you catch it |
| [Pierdon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pierdon) | 50 | 4–6 | The one alpha that also drops 4–5 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) — it pays both halves of the bill |
| [Dualith](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dualith) | 55 | 7–9 | Highest yield you can reach mid-game, and a Mining Lv. 6 catch on top |

The overlap worth planning around is [Pierdon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pierdon): it is the only alpha on the list that drops Ancient Civilization Parts *and* [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre), and it is a Mining Lv. 5 Pal you would want anyway. Beat it and you chip away at the parts, the Ingots and the worker roster in one fight. The [full alpha Pal list](https://palworld-db.com/alpha-pals) has every location and level if you would rather plan a route than pick one.

### Stone and Paldium: The Easy Half

A hundred [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) and forty [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) will not slow anyone down at level 39, and there is no reason to gather either by hand. A [Stone Pit](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Stone%20Pit) costs 2 regular points at level 7 and makes Stone forever with a Mining Pal on it, and Paldium comes back every time you dismantle spheres you have outgrown. If you are gathering manually anyway, the node spread is not close — there are more than eighteen rock nodes for every Paldium vein.

| Material | Need | Map nodes | Best route |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone) | 100 | 8,157 boulders + 4,286 small rocks | [Show every rock node on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_rock,res_smallrock) — or just let a Stone Pit run |
| [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) | 40 | 711 | [Show every Paldium Ore node on the map](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_paldiumore) — the blue-glowing veins near water |

> **Tip.** Do not dismantle your original [Ore Mining Site](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Ore%20Mining%20Site) when this one goes up. They produce the same material, so two sites running side by side simply stack — and since neither draws power and both accept Mining Lv. 1, the only cost of keeping the old one is the floor space and the Pals to staff it.

## Ore Mining Site II vs Ore Mining Site

Everything about these two buildings is identical except the one number that matters. Same product, same Mining Lv. 1 requirement, same 10,000 HP and Defense 4, same zero power draw, same 10,000 work to put up. The upgrade is purely a rate change: 1,600 work per Ore instead of 8,000. Put the same Pal on each and the new site finishes five units in the time the old one finishes one.

| Spec | Ore Mining Site II | Ore Mining Site |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Produces | [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) | [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) |
| Technology level | 39 | 24 |
| Cost | 3 Ancient Technology Points | 2 Ancient Technology Points |
| Materials | 100 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone), 50 [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot), 40 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S), 10 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) | 50 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone), 25 [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot), 20 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S), 5 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) |
| Work per Ore | 1,600 | 8,000 |
| Mining required | Lv. 1 | Lv. 1 |
| Work to construct | 10,000 | 10,000 |
| Structure HP | 10,000 (Defense 4) | 10,000 (Defense 4) |
| Power draw | None | None |
| Flammable | No — stone build | No — stone build |

For scale against the rest of your base, 1,600 work per unit makes this the second-fastest resource facility in the game — only the [Stone Pit](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Stone%20Pit) is quicker, at 800 per Stone. The [Coal Quarry](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Coal%20Quarry) and [Sulfur Quarry](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Sulfur%20Quarry) both sit at 8,000, the [Pure Quartz Quarry](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Pure%20Quartz%20Quarry) at 10,000, the [Hexolite Quartz Mine](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Hexolite%20Quartz%20Mine) at 20,000 and the [Soralite Quarry](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Soralite%20Quarry) at 25,000. Those are all fair comparisons because every one of them is a mining facility fed by the same work stat — and against that field, Ore Mining Site II is not a mid-tier upgrade, it is the fastest ore-class producer you will ever place.

## What All That Ore Is Actually For

It is worth being blunt about why a fivefold Ore increase is worth 3 irreplaceable points. [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot) is the single most-demanded crafted material in Palworld: 125 of the game's 485 base structures list it in their recipe, along with 37 weapons, 29 armour pieces and 250 items overall. Every one of those Ingots is 2 Ore. And that is before [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot), which burns 2 Ore *and* 2 Coal per unit at 7,000 work a piece, and which is what every serious gun and armour set between levels 35 and 50 is built from.

The buildings that hurt most are the assembly lines. The Weapon Assembly Line, Sphere Assembly Line, Production Assembly Line, Large Container and High Quality Monitoring Stand each want 100 Ingot — 200 Ore apiece. Placing three of those is 600 Ore, which is roughly the point where hand-mining stops being a chore and becomes the reason you stopped playing for the evening. The [full Ingot farming guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-farm-ingots) covers the furnace side, and [the Ore farming guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-farm-ore) covers the routes.

## Best Pals to Staff Ore Mining Site II

Fifty-seven Pals have Mining and exactly one, [Aegidron](https://palworld-db.com/pal/aegidron), reaches the maximum Lv. 8. The station only demands Lv. 1, but that is a floor and not a recommendation — suitability level scales the work a Pal contributes, so it is the difference between a site that keeps your chests full and one you keep checking on. The good news is that at 1,600 work per Ore, even a middling Mining Pal here outproduces a great one on the old site.

| Pal | Mining | Other jobs | Why it works |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Aegidron](https://palworld-db.com/pal/aegidron) | 8 | — | The only Lv. 8 Mining Pal in the game — a level 79 alpha with no wild spawns, so it is a trophy hire |
| [Knocklem](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem) | 7 | Transporting 7, Gathering 4 | The best realistic pick: joint-highest Mining, top-tier hauling so it moves its own output, and it drops 2–3 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) when you fight it |
| [Knocklem Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem-ignis) | 7 | Transporting 7, Kindling 5 | 58 spawn spots to Knocklem's 33 — easier to find, and Kindling 5 covers your furnace on its days off |
| [Astegon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/astegon) | 7 | Handiwork 3 | Lv. 7 miner and a level 55 alpha, but it has no wild spawn spots — you catch it once or not at all |
| [Dualith](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dualith) | 6 | Transporting 6, Lumbering 5, Planting 3 | 75 spawn spots and the best all-round base body here — Lv. 6 mining and it hauls, logs and plants |
| [Anubis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/anubis) | 6 | Handiwork 6, Transporting 4 | Lv. 6 in the pit and Lv. 6 at the workbench, which is a rare double — usually too valuable to leave here |
| [Tetroise Primo](https://palworld-db.com/pal/tetroise-primo) | 6 | — | 40 spawn spots and no other job pulling at it, so it never gets reassigned |
| [Cryolinx Terra](https://palworld-db.com/pal/cryolinx-terra) | 5 | Lumbering 6, Transporting 4, Handiwork 2 | 156 spawn spots, drops Ore itself, and covers a logging site when the pit is full |
| [Menasting](https://palworld-db.com/pal/menasting) | 5 | Lumbering 3 | 545 spawn spots — the most common Lv. 5 miner on the island by a wide margin |
| [Pierdon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pierdon) | 5 | — | Drops 4–5 Ore per kill, the best rate in the game, then mines it for you afterwards |
| [Digtoise](https://palworld-db.com/pal/digtoise) | 4 | — | 660 spawn spots and catchable early — the first Pal most players can properly staff a mining site with |

If you own exactly one strong miner, put it here rather than on the base [Ore Mining Site](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Ore%20Mining%20Site) or the [Stone Pit](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Stone%20Pit) — Stone is worth 12 Gold and Ore is worth 100, so the same worker-hour is worth eight times more on this building. [Knocklem](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem) is the pick if you can get one, purely because Transporting Lv. 7 means it carries its own Ore to a chest instead of leaving it stacked at the site. The [full Mining ranking](https://palworld-db.com/best-pals/mining) lists all 57 Pals if you want to check what you have already caught.

## Is It Worth 3 Ancient Points?

Yes, and it is one of the few Ancient nodes worth buying the moment it lights up. Three points for a fivefold rate increase on the game's most-consumed raw material is the cheapest throughput on the tree — the 5-point quarries above it each buy you one new resource at 8,000 to 10,000 work a unit, which is a worse deal per point by any measure. The only thing that reasonably jumps the queue is [Coal Quarry](https://palworld-db.com/structures?q=Coal%20Quarry) at level 37, because Coal is genuinely scarce in the wild at 824 nodes against Ore's 1,632, and without it [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) simply does not happen.

The thing to understand is that there is no third tier. There is no Ore Mining Site III waiting at level 60 — this is the ceiling for automated Ore for the rest of the run, which means the 3 points you spend at level 39 keep paying out for another 40-odd levels. Buy it, place two of them if your base level allows, and stop thinking about Ore.

## Summary

Short version: hit character level 39, spend 3 Ancient Technology Points, and bring 100 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone), 50 [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot), 40 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) and 10 [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex). The parts are two alpha kills and the Ingots are 100 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) through a furnace — buyable at 100 Gold a unit if you are in a hurry. What you get back is 1,600 work per Ore instead of 8,000, on a stone building that draws no power and cannot be set on fire. Staff it with the best Mining Pals you own, keep the old site running alongside it, and the material that gates 125 structures and 37 weapons stops being something you think about.
