# How to Refresh Vendor Stock and Reroll Pal Merchants

How to refresh vendor stock in Palworld — every way to reroll a Pal Merchant or Black Marketeer's five-Pal counter, the full pool sitting behind each one, the odds your Pal shows up, and why Wandering Merchant item stock never changes.

A Pal vendor only ever shows you **five Pals at a time**, and those five are drawn from a much bigger pool — so the Pal you walked across the map for might simply not be on the counter today. This guide covers every way to force a fresh draw, the complete pool behind all six Pal vendors with what each Pal costs at that vendor's level band, the odds a specific Pal turns up, and the one kind of stock you cannot reroll at all.

## Vendor Stock at a Glance

Two different things get called "vendor stock" and they behave nothing alike. Pal vendors — the [Black Marketeers](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-black-marketeer-locations) and the two named Pal Merchants — roll a random five out of a fixed pool every time the world reloads around them, which is the part you can manipulate. Item merchants carry a hand-built list that never changes, so no trick in this guide will put a new item on their shelf. Read the table below before you start reloading anything.

| What | Detail |
| --- | --- |
| Vendors with rerollable stock | Black Marketeer ×4 bands, Desert Pal Merchant, Volcano Pal Merchant |
| Shown on the counter | **5 Pals**, every one of them |
| Pool they are drawn from | 8 to 11 Pals, depending on the vendor |
| What triggers a new draw | The world unloading and reloading around the vendor |
| What does **not** trigger one | Closing and re-opening the shop menu while standing there |
| Item merchants | Fixed lists — cannot be refreshed by any method |
| Currency | [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) |
| Fixed merchant pins on our map | **12** — 4 Black Marketeers, 4 Medal Traders, 3 Bounty Shops, 1 Arena Shop |

That last row matters for routing. The four fixed Black Marketeer pins sit on [our interactive map with the merchant layer switched on](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=merchant), and each one corresponds to a different level band below — so which marketeer you stand in front of decides which pool you are rerolling, not just how far you walked.

## Every Way to Refresh Vendor Stock

All five methods do the same underlying thing: they make the game drop the vendor out of memory and rebuild it, which forces a new five-Pal draw. They differ only in how long a cycle takes and how much setup they need. Fast travel is the one to use on the road, because it needs nothing but a nearby waypoint and takes seconds per cycle. The Palbox and Viewing Cage methods take real setup but turn rerolling into something you do at your own base, standing still, without a loading screen between attempts — that is what you want if you are chasing one specific Pal out of an 11-deep pool.

| Method | What you do | Cycle speed | Setup needed |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| **Fast travel away and back** | Warp to any other point, warp straight back | Seconds | A waypoint near the vendor |
| **Sleep through to morning** | Use a bed at a nearby base | Seconds | A bed within reach |
| **Reload the save** | Quit to title, load back in | Slow — two loading screens | None |
| **Kill it and wait for the respawn** | Drop the vendor, leave the area, come back | Slow | Gear that can kill it, and no witnesses |
| **Catch it and respawn it yourself** | Capture the vendor, then release and re-store it via the or a | Fastest once running | Spheres, plus a base structure |

### Fast Travel Away and Back

This is the default method and it works because warping out unloads everything around the vendor. Pick any second waypoint, warp to it, warp back, and the counter is a fresh five. There are **137 fast travel points** pinned on [the map with the travel layer on](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=fasttravel), so almost every Pal vendor has one close enough to make the round trip trivial — the Duneshelter marketeer and the two town Pal Merchants are the easiest of the lot, since the town waypoint is a few steps from the counter. Do not bother closing and re-opening the shop window first; the draw is already locked in until the world reloads.

### Sleep or Reload the Save

Sleeping through to morning at a nearby base and quitting to the title screen to load the save again both reload the world state, so both give you a new five. Sleeping is the better of the two — it takes one animation instead of two loading screens, and you get the passive base progress while you are at it. Save reloading is the fallback for when you are nowhere near a bed or a waypoint, and it is the only method that works no matter where the vendor is standing.

### Kill the Vendor and Let It Respawn

Vendors are killable, and the one that walks back in later rolls a completely new counter. The thing to watch is who sees you do it. A crime only flags you if an NPC actually witnesses it, so a Black Marketeer standing alone on a cliff edge is a clean kill, while a Pal Merchant behind a town wall is surrounded by witnesses and will land you a bounty — see [how to remove Wanted status](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-remove-wanted-status) before you try that one. It is also the slowest reroll on the list, since you have to leave the area and wait out the respawn timer, so treat it as a method of last resort rather than a farming loop.

### Catch the Vendor and Respawn It From the Palbox

Merchants can be caught in a sphere like any Pal, which turns the whole problem into a base activity. Store the captured vendor in the [Palbox](https://palworld-db.com/capture), then take it out and put it back — each redeployment rebuilds the NPC, and a rebuilt NPC rolls a fresh five. No loading screen, no travel, no respawn timer. This is the fastest cycle in the game once it is set up, and it also means you can carry a level 50–55 marketeer with you and open a late-game Pal shop wherever your base is, instead of hiking back to a cliff every time you have gold to spend.

### Park the Vendor in a Viewing Cage

The [Viewing Cage](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-viewing-cage) does the same job with a nicer loop. It unlocks at character level 15 for 2 technology points and costs 10 [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S), 10 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) and 20 [Stone](https://palworld-db.com/item/Stone), which is nothing by the time you are shopping for Pals in the twenties. Drop the caught vendor into the cage, take it out, put it back — same reroll, and the vendor stays parked at your base between attempts instead of sitting in storage. If you are going to grind one specific pool down, build the cage.

## How Many Rerolls You Actually Need

Every Pal vendor puts five on the counter, so your odds come down entirely to how deep its pool is. The level 20–30 Black Marketeer is the worst of the six — 11 Pals in the pool means any one of them has under a coin-flip chance of being up, and something like [Warsect](https://palworld-db.com/pal/warsect) can hide for several reloads in a row. The other five vendors all run 8- or 9-deep pools, which puts a given Pal on the counter more often than not. Pocketpair has never published how the five are picked, so treat these as close estimates built on an even draw — in practice that is exactly how they behave.

| Vendor | Level band | On the counter | Pool size | Chance a given Pal is up | Reloads to be ~95% sure |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Black Marketeer | Lv 20–30 | 5 | **11** | 45.5% | 5 |
| Black Marketeer | Lv 35–40 | 5 | 9 | 55.6% | 4 |
| Black Marketeer | Lv 42–48 | 5 | 8 | **62.5%** | 4 |
| Black Marketeer | Lv 50–55 | 5 | 8 | **62.5%** | 4 |
| Desert Pal Merchant | Lv 40–45 | 5 | 8 | **62.5%** | 4 |
| Volcano Pal Merchant | Lv 30–35 | 5 | 8 | **62.5%** | 4 |

Read the last column as your patience budget. Four reloads clears every 8- and 9-deep pool with room to spare, and even the awkward 11-deep one is done in five. If you have rerolled ten times and the Pal has never appeared, you are almost certainly at the wrong vendor — check the pools below, because several Pals only exist in one band and the level range on the sign is the giveaway.

## Black Marketeer Stock Pools

The four Black Marketeer bands are the deepest rosters in the game and the only place several of these Pals can be bought at all. Price follows the level the Pal rolls inside the band, so the same species costs noticeably more from the top of a band than the bottom — the ranges below are the floor and ceiling for each. The [full price curve](https://palworld-db.com/guides/pal-buy-and-sell-values) explains the multiplier if you want to work out an exact figure for a level in between.

### Black Marketeer, Lv 20–30

The early band and the hardest to reroll, at 11 Pals deep. It is also the best-value counter on the list: [Wispaw](https://palworld-db.com/pal/wispaw) and [Dumud](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dumud) come in under 6,000 gold even at the top of the band, and [Mammorest](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest) is a genuine early workhorse for barely more than [Elgrove](https://palworld-db.com/pal/elgrove). [Warsect](https://palworld-db.com/pal/warsect) is the premium pick at up to 17,478 gold, which is a lot to ask of a wallet at this stage — reroll for it only if you have the gold spare, because the same money buys three of the cheaper Pals here.

| Pal | Element | Base value | Buy at Lv 20–30 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Wispaw](https://palworld-db.com/pal/wispaw) | Dark | 827 | 3,722 – 4,962 |
| [Dumud](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dumud) | Ground / Water | 995 | 4,478 – 5,970 |
| [Tombat](https://palworld-db.com/pal/tombat) | Dark | 1,147 | 5,162 – 6,882 |
| [Beegarde](https://palworld-db.com/pal/beegarde) | Grass | 1,166 | 5,247 – 6,996 |
| [Robinquill](https://palworld-db.com/pal/robinquill) | Grass | 1,335 | 6,008 – 8,010 |
| [Katress](https://palworld-db.com/pal/katress) | Dark | 1,356 | 6,102 – 8,136 |
| [Mossanda](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mossanda) | Grass | 1,475 | 6,638 – 8,850 |
| [Elgrove](https://palworld-db.com/pal/elgrove) | Grass | 2,041 | 9,184 – 12,246 |
| [Helzephyr](https://palworld-db.com/pal/helzephyr) | Dark | 2,109 | 9,490 – 12,654 |
| [Mammorest](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest) | Grass / Ground | 2,220 | 9,990 – 13,320 |
| [Warsect](https://palworld-db.com/pal/warsect) | Ground / Grass | 2,913 | 13,108 – 17,478 |

### Black Marketeer, Lv 35–40

Eight of the nine here are Fire, which makes this the counter to visit if you are assembling a Kindling base crew rather than a fighting team. [Leezpunk Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/leezpunk-ignis) is the bargain of the whole guide at under 3,700 gold from a band this high — nothing else in any pool is that cheap at level 40. At the other end, [Moldron](https://palworld-db.com/pal/moldron) tops out at 21,832 gold and [Relaxaurus](https://palworld-db.com/pal/relaxaurus) is the only non-Fire pick, which is exactly why it is worth a few rerolls if you want a Dragon this early.

| Pal | Element | Base value | Buy at Lv 35–40 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Leezpunk Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/leezpunk-ignis) | Fire | 493 | 3,328 – 3,698 |
| [Wixen](https://palworld-db.com/pal/wixen) | Fire | 1,284 | 8,667 – 9,630 |
| [Incineram](https://palworld-db.com/pal/incineram) | Fire / Dark | 1,325 | 8,944 – 9,938 |
| [Bushi](https://palworld-db.com/pal/bushi) | Fire | 1,442 | 9,734 – 10,815 |
| [Pyrin](https://palworld-db.com/pal/pyrin) | Fire | 1,464 | 9,882 – 10,980 |
| [Blazehowl](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazehowl) | Fire | 1,794 | 12,110 – 13,455 |
| [Ragnahawk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/ragnahawk) | Fire | 2,263 | 15,275 – 16,972 |
| [Relaxaurus](https://palworld-db.com/pal/relaxaurus) | Dragon / Water | 2,365 | 15,964 – 17,738 |
| [Moldron](https://palworld-db.com/pal/moldron) | Fire / Ground | 2,911 | 19,649 – 21,832 |

### Black Marketeer, Lv 42–48

This is the expensive band — six of the eight cost over 15,000 gold at the bottom of the range, and five of them are Dark or Ground. [Lovander](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lovander) is the only cheap seat at under 9,200 gold. The reroll target here is [Relaxaurus Lux](https://palworld-db.com/pal/relaxaurus-lux), the priciest Pal in the pool at up to 23,359 gold and the one worth actually saving for; [Menasting](https://palworld-db.com/pal/menasting) is the other standout and lands a little under it. Because every Pal here clears 62.5% odds, four reloads should be enough to see any of them.

| Pal | Element | Base value | Buy at Lv 42–48 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Lovander](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lovander) | Dark | 1,056 | 8,237 – 9,187 |
| [Gorirat Terra](https://palworld-db.com/pal/gorirat-terra) | Ground | 1,284 | 10,015 – 11,171 |
| [Beakon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/beakon) | Electric | 1,934 | 15,085 – 16,826 |
| [Menasting](https://palworld-db.com/pal/menasting) | Dark / Ground | 2,469 | 19,258 – 21,480 |
| [Gildra](https://palworld-db.com/pal/gildra) | Dark / Ground | 2,529 | 19,726 – 22,002 |
| [Palumba](https://palworld-db.com/pal/palumba) | Grass | 2,529 | 19,726 – 22,002 |
| [Sekhmet](https://palworld-db.com/pal/sekhmet) | Ground | 2,638 | 20,576 – 22,951 |
| [Relaxaurus Lux](https://palworld-db.com/pal/relaxaurus-lux) | Dragon / Electric | 2,685 | 20,943 – 23,359 |

### Black Marketeer, Lv 50–55

The top band, and the most expensive counter in the game — nothing here goes for under 13,887 gold and [Dualith](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dualith) runs to 30,352, the single priciest Pal any vendor sells. Four of the eight are Ice, so this is where a cold-region team gets bought outright instead of hunted. If you only ever grind one vendor with a [Viewing Cage](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-viewing-cage), make it this one: the Pals are level 50 or better on arrival, which saves you the entire levelling curve.

| Pal | Element | Base value | Buy at Lv 50–55 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Foxcicle](https://palworld-db.com/pal/foxcicle) | Ice | 1,543 | 13,887 – 15,044 |
| [Lunaris](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lunaris) | Neutral | 1,845 | 16,605 – 17,989 |
| [Cryolinx](https://palworld-db.com/pal/cryolinx) | Ice | 1,987 | 17,883 – 19,373 |
| [Quivern](https://palworld-db.com/pal/quivern) | Dragon | 2,081 | 18,729 – 20,290 |
| [Icelyn](https://palworld-db.com/pal/icelyn) | Ice | 2,277 | 20,493 – 22,201 |
| [Mammorest Cryst](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest-cryst) | Ice / Ground | 2,424 | 21,816 – 23,634 |
| [Wumpo](https://palworld-db.com/pal/wumpo) | Ice | 2,591 | 23,319 – 25,262 |
| [Dualith](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dualith) | Ground / Grass | 3,113 | 28,017 – 30,352 |

## Pal Merchant Stock Pools

The two named Pal Merchants keep fixed counters inside walled towns, which makes them the most convenient vendors to reroll — the town waypoint is a few steps away, so a fast-travel cycle takes seconds and there is an item trader at the same landing. The desert roster is sold in **Duneshelter**, the volcano one at **Fisherman's Point** on the southern coast of Mount Obsidian. Both run 8-deep pools, so the odds are as good as they get.

### Desert Pal Merchant, Lv 40–45

Five of these eight are Ground, which makes Duneshelter the mining-crew shop. [Digtoise](https://palworld-db.com/pal/digtoise) is the reason most players reroll here — it is the best Mining body in the pool and tops the price list at 13,010 gold, with [Dinossom Lux](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dinossom-lux) a hair behind it. The bottom half is genuinely cheap for a level 40–45 band: [Dazzi](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dazzi) and [Needoll](https://palworld-db.com/pal/needoll) both come in under 5,800 gold, which is less than a level 25 Pal costs from the early Black Marketeer.

| Pal | Element | Base value | Buy at Lv 40–45 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Dazzi](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dazzi) | Electric | 616 | 4,620 – 5,082 |
| [Needoll](https://palworld-db.com/pal/needoll) | Grass | 702 | 5,265 – 5,792 |
| [Cawgnito](https://palworld-db.com/pal/cawgnito) | Dark | 770 | 5,775 – 6,352 |
| [Dazemu](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dazemu) | Ground | 896 | 6,720 – 7,392 |
| [Surfent Terra](https://palworld-db.com/pal/surfent-terra) | Ground | 1,205 | 9,038 – 9,941 |
| [Gorirat Terra](https://palworld-db.com/pal/gorirat-terra) | Ground | 1,284 | 9,630 – 10,593 |
| [Dinossom Lux](https://palworld-db.com/pal/dinossom-lux) | Electric / Dragon | 1,543 | 11,572 – 12,730 |
| [Digtoise](https://palworld-db.com/pal/digtoise) | Ground | 1,577 | 11,828 – 13,010 |

### Volcano Pal Merchant, Lv 30–35

The cheapest counter in the game by a wide margin — every Pal here except [Vanwyrm](https://palworld-db.com/pal/vanwyrm) and [Arsox](https://palworld-db.com/pal/arsox) sits under 5,800 gold, and the four at the top of the table cost less than 3,300. That makes Fisherman's Point the place to fill Paldeck gaps and Kindling slots on a budget rather than to buy a fighter. Vanwyrm is the exception worth rerolling for: it is a flying mount you can own at level 35 for under 9,900 gold, which is a lot of utility for the money.

| Pal | Element | Base value | Buy at Lv 30–35 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Kelpsea Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/kelpsea-ignis) | Fire | 407 | 2,442 – 2,747 |
| [Flambelle](https://palworld-db.com/pal/flambelle) | Fire | 436 | 2,616 – 2,943 |
| [Fuack Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/fuack-ignis) | Water / Fire | 463 | 2,778 – 3,125 |
| [Leezpunk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/leezpunk) | Dark | 476 | 2,856 – 3,213 |
| [Turtacle](https://palworld-db.com/pal/turtacle) | Water | 661 | 3,966 – 4,462 |
| [Gobfin Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/gobfin-ignis) | Fire | 850 | 5,100 – 5,738 |
| [Arsox](https://palworld-db.com/pal/arsox) | Fire | 1,176 | 7,056 – 7,938 |
| [Vanwyrm](https://palworld-db.com/pal/vanwyrm) | Fire / Dark | 1,464 | 8,784 – 9,882 |

## Wandering Merchant Item Stock Cannot Be Refreshed

None of the tricks above touch an item merchant. Every item shop in the game carries a hand-built list, and that list is the same on your hundredth visit as on your first — reload, sleep, kill the trader, cage it, the shelf does not move. What confuses people is that the game gives several different counters the same name. Six separate inventories all belong to an NPC called **Wandering Merchant**, and they carry different things, so a counter you have already read is still worth opening in a new biome.

| Counter | Items | What it is for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Roaming trader | **32** | The one that walks between regions and turns up at your base from Base Camp Lv 7 |
| Desert Shop 1 | 27 | Consumables and the desert skill fruits — Sand Tornado and Seed Mine |
| Desert Shop 2 | 24 | Gear instead of fruit — hat schematics, Pelt Armor, and an early firearm |
| Volcano Shop 1 | 27 | Consumables plus Flare Storm and Ignis Breath fruit |
| Volcano Shop 2 | 24 | The volcano's gear counter |
| Dungeon Shop | **33** | Food, arrows, ammo and meds mid-run — no gems, no fruit |

On top of those, there are **25 separate caravan counters** running anywhere from 3 to 31 items each, and they specialise hard: some sell nothing but seeds and crops, one carries three kinds of medicine and nothing else, another is all ammo and arrows. So the honest answer to "can I refresh a merchant's items" is no — but you can go find the counter that already stocks what you want. The full inventory of every shop in the game is listed on [our merchants page](https://palworld-db.com/merchants) with prices.

> **Tip.** Do your rerolling **before** you spend, not after. A vendor's five-Pal draw locks in until the world reloads, so the correct loop is: check the counter, reload, check again, and only open your wallet once the Pal you actually want is up. Buying something mediocre on the first draw is how most players end up short of gold when the good roll finally lands — and [farming gold back](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-farm-gold) takes far longer than four fast travels.

## The Short Answer

Fast travel away and back is the fix for 90% of cases. Pal vendors show five out of a pool of 8 to 11, any given Pal is up 45–63% of the time, and four or five reloads will surface anything in the pool. If you are hunting one specific late-game Pal, catch the vendor and cycle it through a [Viewing Cage](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-viewing-cage) at your base instead of walking back and forth. Item merchants never change — go to a different counter instead.
