# Junkyard Locations, All Items, and Best Regions to Farm

Junkyards are random scrap piles with ten separate loot tables behind them. Here is every item a junk pile can hold in each region with exact drop rates, which regions pay Gold Keys, Legendary Spheres and Ancient Relics, and how to actually find piles when they have no fixed spawn points.

Junkyards are the scrap heaps you keep walking past — hold interact for three seconds and one coughs up ammo, spheres, Gold and sometimes a key. There are **ten separate junk loot tables** in the game and which one you roll depends entirely on the region you are standing in, so this guide has every item each table can hold with its exact chance, the ranked list of which regions are worth farming, and why no coordinate list for junkyards exists.

## What a Junkyard Actually Is

In-game the pile is labelled **Junk (Hold to collect)**, and unlike a chest you dig it out rather than open it — a three-second hold, no lid animation, and the pile is gone. Every pile pulls from a **three-slot table**: slot 1 and slot 3 fire on every single pile, while slot 2 is a **25% bait slot** that most piles simply skip. That means a junkyard hands you two item stacks almost always and three when the bait roll lands, which is the whole reason a pile takes seconds and a chest takes a detour.

| Detail | What it means |
| --- | --- |
| In-game label | Junk (Hold to collect) |
| How you open it | Hold interact for **3 seconds** — it plays a dig-out animation, not a chest-open |
| Stacks per pile | **2 guaranteed**, 3 when the 25% bait slot fires |
| Loot pools | **10 region tables** — the region decides the ammo, sphere, key and bulk material |
| Fixed locations | None. Piles are placed at random and reappear over time |
| Won't spawn | On top of anything else — an occupied tile blocks a pile from generating there |

That last rule matters more than it sounds. Because a junk pile refuses to generate where another object already stands, a fully built-out base camp is dead ground for them — the piles push out to the open terrain around your walls instead of appearing inside. Junkyards were added with the Sakurajima update and have quietly been extended with every island since, which is why Sunreach Isle and the World Tree have tables of their own.

## All Junkyard Items by Region

The ten tables are the same shape everywhere — one ammo-or-sphere-or-Gold roll, an optional bait roll, and a bulk roll of currency or building material — but the tier of every entry climbs with the region. The sphere column is the fastest way to read where you are: [Pal Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere) in the starting fields, [Legendary Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Legend) on Sakurajima, [Ancient Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ancient_2) under the World Tree. Note the Grasslands run **two** tables rather than one, and that the Astral Mountains are the only region where the key chance drops below 20% — a fourth entry gets squeezed into that slot, which dilutes it.

| Region | Sphere it rolls (25%) | Gold roll (25%) | Key | Dog Coins |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Grasslands — early | [Pal Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere) x2-3 | 1,000-1,200 | [Copper Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey01) 20% | 2-5 (40%) |
| Grasslands — late | [Mega Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Mega) x3-5 | 1,200-1,400 | [Copper Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey01) 20% | 4-8 (40%) |
| Forest | [Giga Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Giga) x2-3 | 1,400-1,600 | [Silver Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey02) 20% | 5-9 (40%) |
| Mount Obsidian | [Hyper Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Tera) x1-2 | 1,600-1,800 | [Silver Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey02) 20% | 6-10 (40%) |
| Desiccated Desert | [Hyper Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Tera) x1-2 | 1,800-2,000 | [Silver Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey02) 20% | 6-10 (40%) |
| Astral Mountains | [Ultra Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Master) x1-3 | 2,000-2,200 | [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) 14.3% | 12-16 (28.6%) |
| Sakurajima | [Legendary Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Legend) x1-3 | 2,400-2,600 | [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) 20% | 16-20 (40%) |
| Feybreak | [Ultimate Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ultimate) x1-3 | 4,000-4,500 | [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) 20% | 18-22 (40%) |
| Sunreach Isle | [Sol Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ancient_1) x1-3 | 4,500-5,000 | [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) 20% | 18-22 (40%) |
| World Tree | [Ancient Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ancient_2) x1-3 | 6,000-6,500 | [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) 25.2% | 22-26 (50.4%) |

Read the Gold column as the payout ladder and the jump is obvious: everything from the Grasslands to Sakurajima creeps up by a couple of hundred at a time, then Feybreak nearly doubles it in one step. The [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) column climbs even harder — a World Tree pile pays **22-26 Dog Coins at 50.4%**, against 2-5 at 40% in the starting fields, so one late pile is worth roughly eight early ones for [Dog Coin farming](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-farm-dog-coins) purposes. Every full table, including the bulk materials, is below.

### Grasslands Junkyards

The Grasslands are the only region that splits its junk into two tiers, and the split lines up with how far you have pushed out from the starting beach. The early table is pure beginner supply — [Arrows](https://palworld-db.com/item/Arrow), [Paldium Fragments](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) and basic [Pal Spheres](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere) — while the late table swaps all of that for firearm ammo and [Mega Spheres](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Mega). Both pay [Copper Keys](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey01) at 20%, which is genuinely the fastest source of them in the early game, and both hand out [Nails](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts) in bulk. The late table also drops the bait slot entirely, so those piles are always exactly two stacks.

| Tier | Item | Amount | Chance |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Early | [Arrow](https://palworld-db.com/item/Arrow) | 5-10 | 25% |
| Early | [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) | 4-6 | 25% |
| Early | [Pal Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere) | 2-3 | 25% |
| Early | [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 1,000-1,200 | 25% |
| Early | [Simple Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_1) | 2-3 | 25% |
| Early | [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) | 2-5 | 40% |
| Early | [Nail](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts) | 1-3 | 40% |
| Early | [Copper Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey01) | 1 | 20% |
| Late | [Handgun Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/HandgunBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| Late | [Coarse Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/RoughBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| Late | [Mega Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Mega) | 3-5 | 25% |
| Late | [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 1,200-1,400 | 25% |
| Late | [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) | 4-8 | 40% |
| Late | [Nail](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts) | 2-4 | 40% |
| Late | [Copper Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey01) | 1 | 20% |

### Forest Junkyards

Forest piles are the first ones that pay a [Silver Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey02), and at 20% they are a far more relaxed way to collect them than hunting the chests those keys open. The ammo half of the table moves up to [Rifle Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/RifleBullet), the bait slot upgrades to [High Quality Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_2), and [Nails](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts) come in slightly fatter stacks. This is the last region where Nails are the bulk material — from the desert onward it becomes [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement), which is a much bigger deal for base building.

| Item | Amount | Chance |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Handgun Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/HandgunBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Rifle Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/RifleBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Giga Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Giga) | 2-3 | 25% |
| [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 1,400-1,600 | 25% |
| [High Quality Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_2) | 2-3 | 25% |
| [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) | 5-9 | 40% |
| [Nail](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts) | 3-5 | 40% |
| [Silver Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey02) | 1 | 20% |

### Desiccated Desert and Mount Obsidian Junkyards

These two run near-identical tables with two differences: the grenade type matches the biome, and the desert pays about 200 more Gold per roll. Both are the first regions to put **[Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) in the bulk slot at 40%, 4-8 at a time**, which is the single most useful thing junkyards do for a mid-game base — Cement gates almost every stone and metal structure and is otherwise a Stone-and-Bone chore at a crusher. The [Shock Grenade](https://palworld-db.com/item/FragGrenade_Elec) and [Incendiary Grenade](https://palworld-db.com/item/FragGrenade_Fire) rolls are small but not worthless, since neither is cheap to craft at that point in the game. If you are picking one of the two, take the desert: same table, better Gold, and far easier terrain to spot piles in.

| Region | Item | Amount | Chance |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Desert | [Rifle Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/RifleBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| Desert | [Shock Grenade](https://palworld-db.com/item/FragGrenade_Elec) | 1-2 | 25% |
| Desert | [Hyper Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Tera) | 1-2 | 25% |
| Desert | [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 1,800-2,000 | 25% |
| Obsidian | [Rifle Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/RifleBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| Obsidian | [Incendiary Grenade](https://palworld-db.com/item/FragGrenade_Fire) | 1-2 | 25% |
| Obsidian | [Hyper Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Tera) | 1-2 | 25% |
| Obsidian | [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 1,600-1,800 | 25% |
| Both | [High Quality Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_2) | 2-3 | 25% |
| Both | [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) | 6-10 | 40% |
| Both | [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) | 4-8 | 40% |
| Both | [Silver Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey02) | 1 | 20% |

### Astral Mountains Junkyards

The snowfields are where junk piles start carrying [Circuit Boards](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2) and [Gold Keys](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03), and it is also the one table in the game with a **four-way bulk slot** instead of three. That extra entry is the catch: the Gold Key sits at **14.3% here versus 20% everywhere else it appears**, making this the worst Gold Key rate of any junkyard region despite being the first to offer them. What you get in exchange is the widest bulk slot — Dog Coins, Circuit Boards and Cement all at 28.6% — so an Astral pile is the most likely of any to hand you a crafting material you actually needed.

| Item | Amount | Chance |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Shotgun Shell](https://palworld-db.com/item/ShotgunBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Assault Rifle Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/AssaultRifleBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Ultra Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Master) | 1-3 | 25% |
| [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 2,000-2,200 | 25% |
| [High Quality Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_2) | 2-3 | 25% |
| [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) | 12-16 | 28.6% |
| [Circuit Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2) | 1-3 | 28.6% |
| [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) | 4-8 | 28.6% |
| [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) | 1 | 14.3% |

### Sakurajima Junkyards

Sakurajima is the first region whose piles are worth a deliberate trip. [Legendary Spheres](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Legend) show up at 25% in stacks of 1-3, and those are the top capture sphere available to most players well before Feybreak — pulling three of them off a pile you dug out in three seconds is a much better rate than crafting them. The Dog Coin roll also jumps to **16-20 at 40%**, roughly quadruple the Grasslands amount, and the Gold Key returns to a clean 20%. The ammo half is niche unless you run a [Flamethrower](https://palworld-db.com/item/FlamethrowerBullet) or grenade launcher, but the sphere and coin rolls carry the table on their own.

| Item | Amount | Chance |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Flamethrower Fuel](https://palworld-db.com/item/FlamethrowerBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Grenade Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/GrenadeBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Legendary Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Legend) | 1-3 | 25% |
| [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 2,400-2,600 | 25% |
| [High Quality Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_2) | 2-3 | 25% |
| [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) | 16-20 | 40% |
| [Circuit Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2) | 1-3 | 20% |
| [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) | 4-8 | 20% |
| [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) | 1 | 20% |

### Feybreak Junkyards

Feybreak is where the Gold roll stops creeping and jumps — **4,000-4,500 per hit**, nearly double Sakurajima's, and the biggest single-step increase anywhere on the ladder. Its sphere is the [Ultimate Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ultimate), the best non-ancient capture sphere in the game, and it rolls 1-3 at 25% just like every other region's sphere does. Everything else on the table mirrors Sakurajima with slightly fatter Dog Coin stacks. If you have already [reached Feybreak](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-to-feybreak), there is no reason to dig a pile anywhere lower on the ladder unless you are passing it anyway.

| Item | Amount | Chance |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Gatling Gun Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/GatlingBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Energy Cartridge](https://palworld-db.com/item/LaserBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Ultimate Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ultimate) | 1-3 | 25% |
| [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 4,000-4,500 | 25% |
| [High Quality Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_2) | 2-3 | 25% |
| [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) | 18-22 | 40% |
| [Circuit Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2) | 1-3 | 20% |
| [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) | 4-8 | 20% |
| [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) | 1 | 20% |

### Sunreach Isle Junkyards

Sunreach piles are the only ones outside the World Tree that upgrade the bait slot, and they upgrade it twice — [Deluxe Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_3) at 18.8% and [Alluring Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_3_A) at 6.2%. Alluring Bait is the rarest bait in the game and normally something you buy rather than find, so if you run [fishing](https://palworld-db.com/guides/fishing-guide) seriously these piles quietly matter more than their Gold suggests. The sphere is the [Sol Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ancient_1), and the ammo rolls are the sky-tier [Mechanical Bow Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyBowArrow) and [Combat SMG Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkySubmachineGunBullet) — both expensive to craft, so 5-10 free rounds is a real saving if you actually use those weapons.

| Item | Amount | Chance |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Mechanical Bow Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyBowArrow) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Combat SMG Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkySubmachineGunBullet) | 5-10 | 25% |
| [Sol Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ancient_1) | 1-3 | 25% |
| [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 4,500-5,000 | 25% |
| [Deluxe Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_3) | 2-4 | 18.8% |
| [Alluring Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_3_A) | 2-4 | 6.2% |
| [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) | 18-22 | 40% |
| [Circuit Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2) | 1-3 | 20% |
| [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) | 4-8 | 20% |
| [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) | 1 | 20% |

### World Tree Junkyards

The World Tree table is built differently from all nine others and it is the reason junkyards are worth caring about at endgame. Its bulk slot drops Cement and Circuit Boards entirely and replaces them with the **five Ancient Relics, which together appear on 24.4% of piles** — close to one in four. It is also the only table with a five-way first slot, adding [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) alongside the usual ammo, sphere and Gold rolls, and the only one where the [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) beats 20%, sitting at **25.2%**. The relic rarities halve as they climb, so [Glistening Ancient Relic](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeRelic_05) lands on well under one pile in a hundred.

| Item | Amount | Chance |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Beam Scatter Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/WidePenetrateShotgunBullet) | 5-10 | 20% |
| [Plasma Rifle Ammo](https://palworld-db.com/item/ElectricArcAssaultRifleBullet) | 6-12 | 20% |
| [Ancient Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ancient_2) | 1-3 | 20% |
| [Gold Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/Money) | 6,000-6,500 | 20% |
| [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | 1-3 | 20% |
| [Deluxe Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_3) | 2-4 | 16.7% |
| [Alluring Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_3_A) | 2-4 | 8.3% |
| [Dog Coin](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) | 22-26 | 50.4% |
| [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03) | 1 | 25.2% |
| [Decayed Ancient Relic](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeRelic_01) | 1 | 12.6% |
| [Dormant Ancient Relic](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeRelic_02) | 1 | 6.3% |
| [Gorgeous Ancient Relic](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeRelic_03) | 1 | 3.1% |
| [Glowing Ancient Relic](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeRelic_04) | 1 | 1.6% |
| [Glistening Ancient Relic](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeRelic_05) | 1 | 0.8% |

Feed those relics into the [Ancient Relic Recycler](https://palworld-db.com/guides/ancient-relic-recycler) and a World Tree junk route turns into a technology-point engine on top of everything else it pays. Between the relics, the 25.2% Gold Key rate and 22-26 [Dog Coins](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) on half of all piles, one World Tree pile is worth several from any other region.

## Where Junkyards Spawn

Here is the honest answer nobody wants: **junkyards have no fixed locations, so there is no coordinate list to give you**. They are generated at random across Palpagos Island and the outer islands, they refresh over time so the same area keeps producing them, and because a pile refuses to generate on an occupied tile you will never find one wedged inside a rock face or your own base. That makes them the opposite of [treasure chests](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-chest-locations), which sit at 1,559 fixed points you can memorise.

So finding them is about visibility, not routes:

- **Farm flat, open terrain.** The Desiccated Dunes are the best-shaped region for this — wide, bare and low, so a scrap pile breaks the silhouette from a long way off, and the [Palworld Interactive Map](https://palworld-db.com/map) will show you where the region's borders actually sit. Forest and Mount Obsidian are the worst; piles vanish into tree cover and rock clutter.
- **Fly low and slow.** Junk is a small ground-level prop with no map marker and no glow, so a fast mount at altitude will skip straight over dozens of them.
- **Re-sweep the same loop.** Because spawns refresh, a circuit you cleared an hour ago is worth flying again — you are not hunting new ground, you are waiting on the same ground.
- **Sweep outside your base walls, not inside.** Built-up ground blocks generation, so the piles collect on the perimeter.

## Best Regions to Farm Junkyards

Because you cannot route junkyards, "best region" really means "where is my time best spent while I am flying around anyway". The ranking below weighs the payout ladder against how findable the piles are — a region that pays 6,000 Gold is worthless if the terrain hides every pile. Two entries are worth calling out: the World Tree wins on payout by a distance and is not close, while the Desiccated Desert punches far above its tier purely because you can see the piles.

| Rank | Region | Headline pull | Why it ranks here |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 1 | World Tree | [Ancient Relics](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeRelic_03) 24.4% | The only table with relics, the best Gold Key rate at 25.2%, 22-26 Dog Coins on half of all piles, and 6,000-6,500 Gold. Nothing else is in the conversation. |
| 2 | Sunreach Isle | [Alluring Bait](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingBait_3_A) 6.2% | Second-best Gold at 4,500-5,000, [Sol Spheres](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ancient_1), and the only realistic free source of the game's rarest bait. |
| 3 | Feybreak | [Ultimate Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Ultimate) 25% | The biggest single jump on the Gold ladder and the best capture sphere most players will actually use, at the same 25% every region gives its sphere. |
| 4 | Sakurajima | [Legendary Sphere](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalSphere_Legend) 25% | The earliest region where a pile can meaningfully upgrade your capture kit, plus the first fat Dog Coin roll at 16-20. |
| 5 | Desiccated Desert | [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) 4-8 at 40% | Mid-tier loot, top-tier findability. Flat open dunes mean you actually collect the piles you fly past, and Cement solves the mid-game base wall. |
| 6 | Astral Mountains | [Circuit Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts2) 28.6% | First region with Gold Keys and Circuit Boards, but the four-way bulk slot dilutes the key to 14.3% — the worst Gold Key rate of any junkyard. |
| 7 | Grasslands | [Copper Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey01) 20% | Tiny payouts, but a 20% Copper Key on flat, safe, early ground is the least painful way to stock keys before you can fight for chests. |

> **Tip.** Do not build your base on top of good junk ground. Piles cannot generate where an object already stands, so a sprawling camp erases every spawn point under its footprint — if you like a stretch of open desert or plain for junk sweeps, keep your walls compact and put the camp on the edge of it, not the middle.

## Summary

Junkyards are a three-second dig that pays two or three item stacks from one of ten regional tables, with no fixed spawn points and no map markers — you find them by flying low over open terrain and re-sweeping the same ground as they refresh. Early on, dig every pile you pass for the 20% [Copper Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey01) and [Nails](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts); from the desert onward the 40% [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) roll is the reason to bother; and once you can reach the World Tree, its piles are a genuine farm — [Ancient Relics](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeRelic_01) on 24.4% of them, a 25.2% [Gold Key](https://palworld-db.com/item/TreasureBoxKey03), and 22-26 [Dog Coins](https://palworld-db.com/item/DogCoin) on more than half.
