# Makeshift Shotgun Schematic Location and Stats

Where the Legendary Makeshift Shotgun schematic drops in Palworld — no Pal carries it, so it's the 0.04% Forest supply drop, Forest chests, camps across three regions, fishing and tier 1 treasure maps. Full 215-attack stat card, the Tech Lv 30 unlock and a 120 Ore craft.

The **Makeshift Shotgun** unlocks at Technology Lv 30 and is the first shotgun in Palworld by a nine-level margin — nothing else in the class shows up until the [Double-Barreled Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/DoubleBarrelShotgun) at Tech 39. This guide covers the full stat card, every source of the **Legendary** schematic, all four supply-drop rates, the craft, and the ammo problem nobody warns you about.

Two facts set the shape of everything below. **No Pal in the game drops this schematic** — not an Alpha, not a tower boss, not a raid — so there is no 3% farm to grind. And the gun fires **one shell before reloading**, the only shotgun in Palworld built that way.

## Makeshift Shotgun Stats

The whole weapon lives in two rows that pull against each other. **215 Base Attack** is enormous for Tech 30 — it out-hits the Double-Barreled Shotgun nine levels later and the Semi-Auto Shotgun seventeen levels later, and only the Pump-Action beats it under Tech 56, by five points at thirteen levels' remove. Then the magazine says **1**, and every one of those shots is followed by a reload. The other cost is weight: 24 is the joint-heaviest of any shotgun in the game, so it eats real carry capacity at a point where you don't have much.

| Stat | Makeshift Shotgun |
| --- | --- |
| Weapon class | Shotgun |
| Base Attack | **215** |
| Magazine | **1** shell, reload after every shot |
| Damage per magazine | 215 |
| Durability | 200 |
| Weight | **24** |
| Technology level | **Lv 30**, 2 Technology Points |
| Crafting station | Weapon Workbench (unlocks at Lv 20) |
| Crafting work | 60,000 |
| Ammo | [Shotgun Shell](https://palworld-db.com/item/ShotgunBullet) — Lv 39, 2 points |
| Legendary schematic | [Makeshift Shotgun Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_5) |
| Item value | 23,160 Gold |

Attack figures only mean something against weapons of the same class — a shotgun pellet spread and a rifle round are counted on completely different fire rates, so 215 says nothing about where this sits on the [gun tier list](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-guns-ranked). Inside its own class the honest read is that this is an **ambush weapon**: it hits harder than anything else you can hold for the next thirteen tech levels, and then it is useless for two seconds. Open on something with it, finish with a handgun or a bow, and it does excellent work. Try to trade with it in an open fight and you will lose.

## Where the Legendary Schematic Drops

There is no boss on this page because there is no boss to put on it. All four tiers come out of the same background pool — supply drops, chests, enemy camps, fishing spots and treasure maps — and the only source that carries a published percentage is the supply drop, where the Legendary sits at **0.04%**, roughly one in 2,500. Every tier drops by about a fifth from the one above it.

| Schematic | Crafts | Forest supply drop | Treasure maps | Chests, camps, fishing |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Schematic 1](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_2) | Uncommon | **5.23%** | — | Yes |
| [Schematic 2](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_3) | Rare | 1.05% | Tier 1 | Yes |
| [Schematic 3](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_4) | Epic | 0.21% | Tier 1 | Yes |
| [Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_5) | **Legendary** | **0.04%** | Tier 1 | Yes |

Read the top row and the bottom row as two different activities. **Schematic 1 at 5.23% is ordinary loot** — you will hold a stack of them without ever trying — while 0.04% is something that happens to somebody else. The gap is a factor of 130. Note also that **Schematic 1 is the only tier treasure maps never produce**, which is quietly good news: digging tier 1 maps can never waste a roll on the tier you're already drowning in. Every schematic in the game uses the same rolled-scroll model in your bag, so the four icons above are each tier's own art and the rarity border is all that separates them at a glance.

### Forest Supply Drops — the Only Published Rate

This line appears in exactly **one of the eight regional supply tables, and it's the Forest**. Not the Grasslands, where you unlock the gun; not the Desert or Mount Obsidian, where you'd be using it. If you've been grabbing supply drops around your starter base and wondering why no shotgun schematic has ever landed, that's why — the drop carrying it is falling one region over.

| Schematic | Crafts | Forest supply drop chance | Roughly |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Schematic 1](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_2) | Uncommon | **5.23%** | 1 in 19 |
| [Schematic 2](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_3) | Rare | 1.05% | 1 in 95 |
| [Schematic 3](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_4) | Epic | 0.21% | 1 in 476 |
| [Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_5) | **Legendary** | **0.04%** | **1 in 2,500** |

Treat Forest drops as the **feeder** for the Drafting Table, not as a Legendary source. Bank the Uncommons and Rares as they land while you're doing something else, because those are the currency you'll combine later; sitting on a 0.04% roll is not a plan, it's a hobby. Worth knowing: the [Musket](https://palworld-db.com/item/Musket) and [Double-Barreled Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/DoubleBarrelShotgun) schematic lines sit in the same Forest table at the same rates, so a single drop circuit feeds three weapons at once. Full pools for all eight regions are on the [Palworld supply drops page](https://palworld-db.com/supply-drops).

### Chests, Camps, Fishing and Treasure Maps

The background pool is wide but oddly routed. Chests only carry it in the **Forest** — 247 pins and no other region — while enemy camps carry it in three regions with the two camp loot types split apart: ordinary camp loot in the Forest and Desert, boss stashes in the Forest and Mount Obsidian. Fishing is Forest-only again. Once you've moved past those three regions this schematic stops appearing entirely.

| Source | Regions | Tiers | Map |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Treasure chests | Forest | All four | [247 Forest chests](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=chest_forest) |
| Enemy camp loot | Forest, Desert | All four | [58 enemy camps](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=camp) |
| Enemy camp boss stashes | Forest, Mount Obsidian | All four | [58 enemy camps](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=camp) |
| Fishing spots | Forest | All four | [367 spots](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=fishing) · [102 rare](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=fishing_rare) |
| Treasure map digs (tier 1) | Anywhere | Schematics 2, 3, 4 | — |

**Enemy camps are the row to build a route around.** There are only 58 camps on the whole map, they respawn, they cover three of this schematic's regions between them, and both loot types on a camp roll all four tiers — that is a far denser loop than walking 247 individual Forest chests one at a time, and camps pay Gold, ammo and Ingots on the same run. Fishing is the free one: leave a rod at a Forest spot while you're organising a base and it rolls the same table for nothing. The [fishing database](https://palworld-db.com/fishing) lists every catch, and the [Palworld Fishing Guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/fishing-guide) covers which rods and spots are worth the walk.

### No Pal Drops This One — Three Other Shotguns Say Otherwise

Only three shotgun schematics in the game come off a Pal, all at the Legendary tier and all at a flat 3% from a fixed, respawning Alpha. The Makeshift is not one of them, and the nearest one is nine tech levels away. That matters when you're deciding what to spend your evening on: a 3% repeatable kill is about **75 times** the Forest supply-drop rate.

| Schematic | Alpha | Level | Element | Rate |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Makeshift Shotgun Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_5) | **None** | — | — | **No Pal drops it** |
| [Double-Barreled Shotgun Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_DoubleBarrelShotgun_5) | [Elizabee](https://palworld-db.com/pal/elizabee) | **39** | Grass — bring Fire | 3% |
| [Pump-Action Shotgun Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_PumpActionShotgun_5) | [Suzaku](https://palworld-db.com/pal/suzaku) | 45 | Fire — bring Water | 3% |
| [Energy Shotgun Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_EnergyShotgun_5) | [Azurmane](https://palworld-db.com/pal/azurmane) | 66 | Electric — bring Ground | 3% |

If you want a Legendary schematic tonight and you're standing at Tech 30, there is one sitting right at your level and it isn't a shotgun. **Alpha Blazehowl is level 30**, pure Fire, spawns at 56 locations, and drops [Musket Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_Musket_5) at a flat 3%. The [Musket](https://palworld-db.com/item/Musket) is a one-shot weapon with the same reload rhythm as the Makeshift Shotgun and **1,000 Base Attack** — a rifle number, not comparable to a shotgun's, but the highest single-trigger figure available anywhere near this point in the game. It also pays 4-5 Ancient Civilization Parts every kill whether the schematic lands or not.

| Drop from Alpha Blazehowl | Chance | Amount |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) | 100% | 4-5 |
| [Precious Claw](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalItem_ToSell_04) | 100% | 4-5 |
| [Musket Schematic 4](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_Musket_5) | **3%** | 1 |

Bring Water at Blazehowl and stay off Grass. Its pin is on the map at [Alpha Blazehowl's location](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=Manticore), and [every Alpha Pal with its level and multipliers](https://palworld-db.com/alpha-pals) is on the Alpha database. The point isn't that the Musket replaces this shotgun — it's that the shotgun's Legendary has no farm at all, so the correct move at Tech 30 is to build the Common Makeshift Shotgun, spend your actual hunting time on a 3% boss, and let the shotgun schematics accumulate passively.

## Build It Instead: The Drafting Table Route

The **Drafting Table** unlocks at Technology Lv 45 for 4 Technology Points and combines **five identical schematics into one of the next rarity up**. This line supports the full ladder with no missing rungs, which isn't true of every weapon in the game. With no boss drop anywhere, this is the only route to a Legendary Makeshift Shotgun that doesn't depend entirely on luck — and it arrives **fifteen levels after the gun does**.

| Target | Combine cost | Equivalent in Schematic 1s |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Schematic 2](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_3) | 5× [Schematic 1](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_2) | 5 |
| [Schematic 3](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_4) | 5× [Schematic 2](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_3) | 25 |
| [Schematic 4 (Legendary)](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_5) | 5× [Schematic 3](https://palworld-db.com/item/Blueprint_MakeshiftShotgun_4) | **125** |

125 Schematic 1s is the paper worst case, and at 5.23% that's roughly **2,400 Forest supply drops** for one Legendary — a number nobody should chase for a Tech 30 weapon. Combine at the top of the ladder only: bank Schematic 3s until you're holding five rather than burning Uncommons the moment the table lets you, because those are the rolls you'll want back when a lucky Epic finally lands and you're one short. The table costs 20 [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot), 10 [High Quality Wooden Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/HighGrade_Processed_Wood) and 30 [Charcoal](https://palworld-db.com/item/Charcoal); the [schematic upgrade guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-upgrade-schematics) covers the full rules.

> **Tip.** Craft the Common version the day you hit Tech 30 and stop waiting on a rarity roll — every tier of this line builds a shotgun that fires the same single shell, and rarity only moves the numbers. The real gate isn't the schematic, it's the ammo: **Shotgun Shells don't unlock until Tech Lv 39**, nine levels after the gun. Until then, buy them at 330 Gold from Caravan, Wander, Desert, Volcano and Dungeon shops, and budget properly — with a one-shell magazine, every trigger pull is a 330 Gold purchase.

## How to Craft the Makeshift Shotgun

Whichever schematic tier you're holding, the recipe never changes: three materials on the plain **Weapon Workbench** for 60,000 work. Nothing in it is regional or late-game — no Refined Ingot, no Coal, no Polymer, no ancient parts. It's all base-tier stuff, which is the nicest thing about this gun: if your camp smelts Ore and you've killed something large, you can build it the evening you unlock it.

| Material | Qty | Made at | From |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot) | **60** | Primitive Furnace (Tech Lv 10) | 2 [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) each |
| [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) | **50** | Workbench, or gathered | 1 [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) makes 2 — or chop bushes |
| [High Quality Pal Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalOil) | 15 | Pal drops | Table below, or 300 Gold each from merchants |

Trace all three lines down to things you pick off the ground or off a corpse and one Makeshift Shotgun is **120 Ore, 25 Wood and 15 High Quality Pal Oil**. The Ore is the line to plan around — 120 is double what the [Double-Barreled Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/DoubleBarrelShotgun) asks for nine levels later, though that one wants 60 Coal and Polymer on top, which this doesn't. If you'd rather not hunt at all, the oil alone is 4,500 Gold from a merchant, against a finished gun worth 23,160.

| Raw material | Total for one shotgun | Where to get it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Ore](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperOre) | **120** | [1,632 nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_copperore) |
| [Wood](https://palworld-db.com/item/Wood) | 25 (milled into 50 Fiber) | [4,654 lumber nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_lumber) |
| [High Quality Pal Oil](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalOil) | 15 | [Mammorest](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest) at 5-10 per kill, 100% |

### Fastest High Quality Pal Oil Farm

Fifteen oil is two kills if you pick the right target, and the timing works out perfectly at this stage. **[Mammorest](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest) spawns from level 26 across 484 spots** and drops 5-10 every single kill at 100% — you unlock the gun at 30, so it's already in range and it's a slow, huge, easy target to hit with a shotgun. Everything below it is a fallback rather than an upgrade.

| Pal | Oil per kill | Drop rate | Spawns at |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Mammorest](https://palworld-db.com/pal/mammorest) | **5-10** | 100% | Lv 26-80 · 484 spots |
| [Quivern](https://palworld-db.com/pal/quivern) | 3 | 100% | Lv 40-80 · flying mount |
| [Digtoise](https://palworld-db.com/pal/digtoise) | 2-3 | 100% | Lv 17-44 · 660 spots |
| [Elphidran](https://palworld-db.com/pal/elphidran) | 2-3 | 100% | Lv 20-80 · 261 spots |
| [Grintale](https://palworld-db.com/pal/grintale) | 1-3 | 100% | Lv 17-48 · 619 spots |
| [Relaxaurus](https://palworld-db.com/pal/relaxaurus) | 1-4 | 100% | Lv 30-80 · 38 spots |

Digtoise and Grintale earn their rows on density rather than yield — 660 and 619 spots respectively means you'll trip over them constantly, so they top up the count between Mammorest kills without a special trip. Relaxaurus is the row to ignore: 38 spawn points is the thinnest on the list and it's a genuine fight. If you'd rather buy, Caravan, Desert, Volcano and Wander shops all stock High Quality Pal Oil at **300 Gold**, and the [merchants page](https://palworld-db.com/merchants) has their full stock lists.

### Fastest Fiber Farm

Fifty Fiber is the sneaky line here — it's more than the [Makeshift Handgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/MakeshiftHandgun) wants and gathering bushes for it is slow. Several Pals drop Fiber at **100%** instead. [Hoocrates](https://palworld-db.com/pal/hoocrates) is the best of them at 5-10 a kill, but read the spawn column carefully: it is **nocturnal**, with all 263 of its spawn points active only at night. [Hangyu](https://palworld-db.com/pal/hangyu) pays the same and shows up around the clock, which usually makes it the practical pick.

| Pal | Fiber per kill | Drop rate | Spawns at |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Hoocrates](https://palworld-db.com/pal/hoocrates) | **5-10** | 100% | Lv 4-22 · 263 spots, **night only** |
| [Hangyu](https://palworld-db.com/pal/hangyu) | **5-10** | 100% | Lv 9-40 · 144 spots, day or night |
| [Tarantriss](https://palworld-db.com/pal/tarantriss) | 2-5 | 100% | Lv 20-58 · 46 spots |

Five or six kills off either of the top two covers a whole gun. The alternative is better than it sounds, though: milling **1 Wood into 2 Fiber** at a workbench means 25 Wood covers the entire 50, and a base with a couple of Lumbering Pals produces that while you're asleep. Hunt if you're already out; mill if you're at home.

## Can You Even Build It Yet?

Technology Lv 30 is the headline gate, but it's the rows *below* the gun that decide whether you can actually fire the thing. Work down this checklist before you go schematic hunting — and look at the bottom three, because the ammo needs a furnace you won't own for four more levels and a node you won't own for nine.

| Requirement | Unlocks at | Why you need it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Primitive Furnace | Tech Lv 10, 3 points | Ingot — 60 of them per gun |
| **Weapon Workbench** | Tech Lv 20, 3 points | The bench the gun and its shells are both built on — 15 [Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/CopperIngot) + 10 [Wooden Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/Processed_Wood) + 10 [Nail](https://palworld-db.com/item/MachineParts) to build |
| Gunpowder | Tech Lv 21, 2 points | Every shell you'll ever load |
| **Makeshift Shotgun** | **Tech Lv 30**, 2 points | The weapon recipe |
| Improved Furnace | Tech Lv 34, 4 points | [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) — the shells need it, the gun doesn't |
| [Shotgun Shell](https://palworld-db.com/item/ShotgunBullet) | **Tech Lv 39**, 2 points | Something to fire — buy at **330 Gold** until then |
| Drafting Table | Tech Lv 45, 4 points | Combining schematics upward — fifteen levels after the gun |

**The nine-level ammo gap is the real story of this weapon**, and it's wider than the four-level gap on the [Makeshift Handgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/MakeshiftHandgun). You can build the shotgun at 30 and have literally nothing to load it with until 39, because Shotgun Shells need Refined Ingot and Refined Ingot needs the Improved Furnace at 34. Buying is the answer, and it's not cheap. Every point on this list is an ordinary Technology Point rather than the Ancient kind you pry out of tower bosses — the full tree is on the [Palworld technology page](https://palworld-db.com/tech).

## Shotgun Shells and Running Costs

Once the node is open, one craft on the **Weapon Workbench** gives you ten shells, and the same shells feed the Double-Barreled, Pump-Action and Semi-Auto Shotguns later — so nothing you stockpile is wasted. Until then the shop price of **330 Gold** is what you're paying per trigger pull, which is the single most expensive thing about owning this gun.

| Ammo | Recipe | Per craft | Station | Unlock | Shop price |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Shotgun Shell](https://palworld-db.com/item/ShotgunBullet) | 2 [Refined Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/IronIngot) + 3 [Gunpowder](https://palworld-db.com/item/Gunpowder2) | **10** | Weapon Workbench | Tech Lv 39, 2 points | **330 Gold** |

Traced all the way down, ten shells cost **4 Ore, 4 Coal, 12 Wood and 3 Sulfur** — the Coal is what forces the Improved Furnace, and the Wood half is free forever once a Charcoal loop is running in your base. Coal sits at [824 nodes](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_coal) and Sulfur at [655](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_sulfur), both concentrated in the Desert and Mount Obsidian. Crafting is roughly a tenth of the shop price, so the moment you hit Tech 39 you should stop buying entirely and batch a few hundred. Every other weapon's ammo cost is on the [Palworld ammo database](https://palworld-db.com/ammo).

## How It Compares to Every Other Shotgun

Eight shotguns form a ladder from Tech Lv 30 to Tech Lv 75, and the Makeshift Shotgun opens it. Ranked on raw attack it is **fourth of eight**, ahead of two shotguns that unlock later — which is a strange and genuinely useful result for the cheapest gun in the class. Ranked on damage per magazine it is dead last by a mile, and both of those things are true at the same time.

| Shotgun | Tech | Base Attack | Magazine | Durability | Damage per magazine |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Makeshift Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/MakeshiftShotgun) | **30** | 215 | **1** | 200 | 215 |
| [Double-Barreled Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/DoubleBarrelShotgun) | 39 | 190 | 2 | 200 | 380 |
| [Pump-Action Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/PumpActionShotgun) | 43 | 220 | 8 | 150 | 1,760 |
| [Semi-Auto Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/SemiAutoShotgun) | 47 | 195 | 10 | 300 | 1,950 |
| [Core Eject Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/OctaviaShotgun) | 56 | 230 | — | 150 | — (fires endlessly) |
| [Energy Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyShotgun) | 63 | 402 | 10 | 300 | 4,020 |
| [Prototype Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkyShotgun) | 69 | **1,167** | 12 | **6,000** | 14,004 |
| [Beam Scatter](https://palworld-db.com/item/WidePenetrateShotgun) | 75 | 508 | **30** | 950 | **15,240** |

The magazine column is where the class actually progresses. Attack barely moves for the first four entries — 190 to 220 across seventeen tech levels — while the magazine goes 1, 2, 8, 10, and that is the whole upgrade. The **Pump-Action at Tech 43 is the genuine jump**, and it's the one to aim for; it also has a Legendary schematic you can farm off Alpha Suzaku at 3%, which this gun does not. The Core Eject Shotgun is a collab item that fires continuously with no magazine, so read its row as a different weapon concept rather than a better shotgun. Where each sits in the wider upgrade path is covered in the [best weapons by tech level guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/best-weapons-by-tech-level), and [every weapon in the game](https://palworld-db.com/weapons) is compared on the weapons database.

### What a Legendary Version Actually Gains

Schematic rarity raises the crafted weapon's stats, and the [Pump-Action Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/PumpActionShotgun) is the one shotgun whose five rarity tiers are all laid out end to end in the game. It climbs **220 → 275 → 308 → 352 → 385**, which is exactly ×1.25, ×1.4, ×1.6 and ×1.75 of base, with durability going 150 → 500 → 600 → 700 → 800 and the magazine gaining a round per step.

| Rarity | Pump-Action attack | Pump-Action magazine | Pump-Action durability | Makeshift (estimated) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Common | 220 | 8 | 150 | **215** |
| Uncommon | 275 | 9 | 500 | ~269 |
| Rare | 308 | 10 | 600 | ~301 |
| Epic | 352 | 11 | 700 | ~344 |
| **Legendary** | **385** | **12** | **800** | **~376** |

Pocketpair has never published the per-rarity multipliers, and they aren't uniform across weapon families — launchers climb far more gently than shotguns do — so the right-hand column is the Pump-Action's own in-class curve applied to 215, and should be read as a close estimate. **215 is the only number in that column that's certain.** Whether the Makeshift picks up magazine capacity per tier is genuinely unknown, and on a gun whose defining trait is the single shell, that's the number you'd actually want to know.

Here's the blunt version. At an estimated ~376 attack a Legendary Makeshift Shotgun would out-hit a **Common Pump-Action, Semi-Auto and Core Eject** — every shotgun below Tech 63 — from a gun you unlock at 30. That is a real weapon. But it would still fire one shell at a time, which caps it at ~376 damage per magazine against the Pump-Action's 1,760, and there is no boss anywhere that drops the schematic to get you there. Build the Common, farm something with a 3% drop, and let the Drafting Table sort it out at Tech 45.

## The Short Answer

No Pal in Palworld drops the Legendary Makeshift Shotgun schematic. Your sources are **Forest supply drops at 0.04%**, Forest treasure chests, enemy camps across the **Forest, Desert and Mount Obsidian**, Forest fishing spots, tier 1 treasure map digs, and the **Drafting Table** at Tech Lv 45. Given that, build the Common version the moment you hit **Tech Lv 30** — 120 Ore, 25 Wood and 15 High Quality Pal Oil on the Weapon Workbench buys you 215 Base Attack, the hardest-hitting shot available for the next thirteen tech levels. Then solve the ammo: **Shotgun Shells don't unlock until Tech Lv 39**, so buy them at 330 Gold and spend your hunting time on **Alpha Blazehowl at level 30**, which drops a Legendary [Musket](https://palworld-db.com/item/Musket) schematic at a flat 3% instead.
