**0.4.11** is the Feybreak update — the December 2024 patch that bolted a whole island, two new ores, a research system, an expedition system and roughly twenty weapons onto Palworld in one go. This page lists everything it changed, with the unlock levels, attack values and material costs those additions still carry in the current build, so you can tell which parts of it are worth chasing tonight.

## Palworld 0.4.11 Release Date and Platforms

0.4.11 shipped on **December 23, 2024** for Steam and Xbox. PlayStation was not on the list — the game did not reach PS5 until the 0.5.0 line the following March, which is why a PlayStation save can never have experienced this patch as a patch. It is also the biggest single content drop the game had before 1.0: Sakurajima in 0.3.1 added an island and a stronghold, while this one added an island, two ores, two progression systems, a raid boss, a game mode and a weapon tier all at once.

Nothing here needs re-downloading. Everything below is already in your game — 0.4.11 is history, not a thing you install — so treat this as a map of content that a lot of players who started at 1.0 have never opened. The full build ladder either side of it is on [the Palworld patch notes and version history](https://palworld-db.com/guides/palworld-patch-notes).

## Feybreak, the Island 0.4.11 Added

Feybreak is the glowing-sand island in the far southwest, and it is still the densest loot region in the game by a wide margin. Nothing gates it — no quest, no tech, no key — so a low-level character can sail there and immediately get flattened by a Feybreak Warriors missile battery. The island's own writeup covers the crossing and the fast travel statues in [the Feybreak location and travel guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-to-feybreak), and its dungeon roster sits in [the Feybreak Cavern guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/feybreak-cavern).

The numbers below are why the island matters more than the patch note made it sound. **3,588 loot caches** is more than Grasslands has despite Feybreak being a fraction of the size, and the 201 treasure chests are the highest-grade pool outside the World Tree. If you only farm one thing here, make it the Hexolite Quartz nodes — that ore gates the best armour and the top-tier guns, and it does not exist as a field node anywhere before this patch added it.

| What's on Feybreak | Count | Map |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Loot caches | 3,588 | [Feybreak loot cache layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=cache_feybreak) |
| Treasure chests | 201 | [Feybreak treasure chest layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=chest_feybreak) |
| Hexolite Quartz nodes (island-led, world total) | 635 | [Hexolite Quartz node layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_hexolitequartz) |
| Elemental-sealed chests | 109 | [Elemental-sealed chest layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=chest_elem) |
| Hack terminals | 106 | [Hack terminal layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=hackterminal) |
| Sea base camps | 10 | [Sea base camp layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=camp_seabase) |

The elemental-sealed chests are the mechanic people forget. There are **109** of them and each one only opens to a Pal of the matching element, so clearing them properly means bringing a squad rather than a favourite. They are scattered well beyond Feybreak, so the layer is worth leaving on while you play anywhere.

## New Resources: Chromite and Hexolite Quartz

Two ores arrived with this patch and they behave nothing alike. [Hexolite Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/RainbowCrystal) is a normal field node you swing a pickaxe at — **635 of them across the world** — and it feeds the entire Hexolite armour line and the endgame weapon recipes. [Chromite](https://palworld-db.com/item/Chromium) is the awkward one: it has no surface node at all, it sits buried underground in dungeons, and you cannot see it without detection gear.

That makes expeditions the sane way to stock Chromite rather than the fallback. The **Dark Cave of Feybreak** run pays 30-50 Chromite every single time at 100%, alongside 2-3 Ancient Civilization Cores and 20-22 Ancient Pal Manuscripts, and it takes 60 minutes of a Pal's time rather than an hour of yours. Chromite also drops from Feybreak supply crates at 30-40 a pop, and turns up in about 15% of Sunreach Isle field drops.

| Resource | Rarity | How you get it | Best single source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Hexolite Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/RainbowCrystal) | Common material | 635 field nodes, plus ~15% of Feybreak field drops | Mine it, or build the [Hexolite Quartz Mine](https://palworld-db.com/structures) at level 62 |
| [Chromite](https://palworld-db.com/item/Chromium) | Common material | Underground in dungeons only — needs detection | Dark Cave of Feybreak expedition: 30-50 per run at 100% |
| [Pure Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/Quartz) | Common material | 607 field nodes | The Pure Quartz Quarry mines it forever once built |
| [Predator Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/PredatorCrystal) | Rare material | Dropped by Predator Pals only | Hunt predators in the field — no crafting recipe exists |

### Metal Detector

The [Metal Detector](https://palworld-db.com/item/MetalDetector) is the tool that makes Chromite visible: use it in a dungeon and every buried deposit gets marked for you. It unlocks at **level 58 for 3 technology points**, which is late enough that most players hit Chromite recipes before they can find Chromite. Buying one costs 527,040 Gold, so the tech point is the cheap route by a long way. Some Pals cover the same job with a detection partner skill if you would rather not spend the unlock.

## Every New Weapon 0.4.11 Added

This is the patch that turned Palworld into a shooter. Fourteen firearms, bows and blades landed at once, spanning tech level 26 to 61, and they are still the spine of the current weapon ladder — the whole progression is laid out in [the best weapons at every tech level](https://palworld-db.com/guides/best-weapons-by-tech-level), and the gun-only ranking is in [the guns tier list](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-guns-ranked).

Read the attack column inside its own class only. The [Plasma Cannon](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyRocketLauncher)'s 10,000 is a rocket-launcher number measured against other launchers, not something a rifle could ever approach, and the [Advanced Bow](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFBow)'s 5,800 is a per-shot bow figure with a slow draw behind it. Within the guns, the two that actually change how you play are the [Semi-Auto Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/SemiAutoRifle) at level 41 — 1,150 attack, a huge jump from anything before it, and early enough to carry you through the tower run — and the [Laser Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/LaserGatlingGun) at 59, which trades raw per-shot damage for a 100-round magazine and 8,000 durability. The Laser Gatling costs 110 Plasteel, 100 Hexolite, 10 Computers and 3 Thermal Cores, so it is a Feybreak-economy weapon by design.

| Weapon | Class | Tech level | Attack |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Makeshift SMG](https://palworld-db.com/item/MakeshiftSubmachineGun) | Assault Rifle | 26 | 100 |
| [Makeshift Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/MakeshiftShotgun) | Shotgun | 30 | 215 |
| [Makeshift Assault Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/MakeshiftAssaultRifle) | Assault Rifle | 31 | 170 |
| [Old Revolver](https://palworld-db.com/item/OldRevolver) | Handgun | 33 | 600 |
| [SMG](https://palworld-db.com/item/SubmachineGun) | Assault Rifle | 37 | 130 |
| [Semi-Auto Rifle](https://palworld-db.com/item/SemiAutoRifle) | Assault Rifle | 41 | 1,150 |
| [Compound Bow](https://palworld-db.com/item/CompoundBow) | Bow | 42 | 1,100 |
| [Katana](https://palworld-db.com/item/Katana) | Melee | 44 | 780 |
| [Semi-Auto Shotgun](https://palworld-db.com/item/SemiAutoShotgun) | Shotgun | 47 | 195 |
| [Beam Sword](https://palworld-db.com/item/BeamSword) | Melee | 57 | 930 |
| [Advanced Bow](https://palworld-db.com/item/SFBow) | Bow | 57 | 5,800 |
| [Laser Gatling Gun](https://palworld-db.com/item/LaserGatlingGun) | Gatling Gun | 59 | 530 |
| [Plasma Cannon](https://palworld-db.com/item/EnergyRocketLauncher) | Rocket Launcher | 61 | 10,000 |

### The Elemental Grenades

Five elemental grenades came with 0.4.11 and they all hit for the same **750 base damage** — the choice between them is purely the element you need, not the number. That flat power is the point: a Grass Grenade at tech 35 does exactly what a Dragon Grenade at 42 does, so unlock whichever element your current problem is weak to and skip the rest until you need them. They are the cheapest way to cover a bad matchup when the Pal you want to counter with is not on your team.

| Grenade | Element | Tech level | Attack |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Water Grenade](https://palworld-db.com/item/FragGrenade_Water) | Water | 33 | 750 |
| [Grass Grenade](https://palworld-db.com/item/FragGrenade_Leaf) | Grass | 35 | 750 |
| [Ground Grenade](https://palworld-db.com/item/FragGrenade_Ground) | Ground | 38 | 750 |
| [Dark Grenade](https://palworld-db.com/item/FragGrenade_Dark) | Dark | 40 | 750 |
| [Dragon Grenade](https://palworld-db.com/item/FragGrenade_Dragon) | Dragon | 42 | 750 |

## Expeditions and the Pal Labor Research Lab

The two systems this patch added are the ones that keep paying you while you are logged out or busy elsewhere, and both unlock absurdly early for what they give. The [Pal Expedition Station](https://palworld-db.com/structures) comes in at **level 22 for 2 technology points** and costs 10 Wooden Boards, 100 Stone, 20 Paldium Fragments and 20 Cement. The [Pal Labor Research Lab](https://palworld-db.com/structures) is even cheaper — **level 19, 2 points, 30 Ingots and 30 Paldium Fragments**.

There are **18 expeditions**, running 30 to 120 minutes, and the difficulty spread is top-heavy: 9 of them are Very Hard, 5 Hard, and only 4 sit at Easy or Normal. Strength requirements climb hard with that — the Hard-tier Dark Cave of Feybreak wants 476,000, the Very Hard Ancient Feybreak Ruins wants 1,600,000. The Ruins run is the one to build toward: 120 minutes for 25-30 Ancient Pal Manuscripts, 10-20 Ancient Spheres, 10-20 Hexolite Quartz and a Hartalis Slab Fragment, all at 100%. Which Pals actually clear those thresholds is worked out in [the best Pals for expeditions](https://palworld-db.com/guides/best-pals-for-expeditions).

| System | Unlock | Cost | What it gives |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | Level 22 | 2 tech points | 18 expeditions, 30-120 minutes, guaranteed material payouts |
| | Level 19 | 2 tech points | 168 permanent research upgrades across 28 categories |

### What Research Actually Unlocks

Research is permanent and account-wide inside your world, which makes it the best-value structure in the game for the two ingots it costs. The **168 projects** cover far more than work speed: 18 sit under Base Attack, 16 under Research Speed itself, 10 unlock technologies outright, and there are dedicated lines for Expedition Speed and Expedition Rewards that feed straight back into the station above. Work ranges from 5,000 to 10,000,000, so the order you pick matters enormously early on — [the best research to rush](https://palworld-db.com/guides/best-research-to-rush) sorts that out.

## New Base Structures

A dozen buildings arrived with 0.4.11 and they cluster at two very different points on the curve. The cheap half — Ladder, Medicine Rack, both Flea Market stalls — unlocks before level 25 and costs almost nothing, and the Flea Markets are the reason a base can start generating Gold passively that early. The expensive half is pure endgame: the [Guild Chest](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-guild-chest) at 41, the Item Retrieval Machine at 49, and the Gold Coin Assembly Line all the way out at **level 73**, which is the latest unlock in the whole set.

The one worth planning around is the **Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator** at level 58. Ten eggs at once instead of one is a straight tenfold change to breeding throughput, and it is the single biggest quality-of-life jump in the patch — the trade is 100 Hexolite, 50 Circuit Boards, 30 Ancient Civilization Parts and 20 Ancient Civilization Cores, so it is a Feybreak-funded build. If you are not there yet, [the Large Incubator](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-large-incubator) is the cheaper stepping stone.

| Structure | Unlock | Points | Materials |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Ladder | Level 10 | 1 | 10 Wood |
| | Level 22 | 2 | 20 Ingot, 4 Wooden Board, 5 Paldium Fragment |
| | Level 22 | 2 | 20 Ingot, 4 Wooden Board, 3 Cloth |
| | Level 24 | 2 | 20 Ingot, 3 Wooden Board, 5 Cloth |
| | Level 37 | 2 | 50 Ingot, 20 Electric Organ, 5 Cryogenic Coolant, 5 Corrosive Solvent |
| | Level 41 | 4 | 50 Refined Ingot, 100 Paldium Fragment, 10 Ancient Civilization Parts |
| | Level 49 | 5 | 200 Cement, 200 Charcoal, 25 High Quality Wooden Board, 13 Cryogenic Coolant |
| | Level 49 | 5 | 100 Pal Metal Ingot, 30 Paldium Fragment, 4 Bio Battery |
| | Level 58 | 5 | 100 Hexolite, 50 Circuit Board, 30 Ancient Civilization Parts, 20 Ancient Civilization Core |
| | Level 58 | 5 | 150 Plasteel, 100 Polymer, 200 Flame Organ, 12 Computer |
| | Level 62 | 5 | 70 Stone, 100 Hexolite Quartz, 10 Ancient Civilization Parts |
| | Level 71 | 3 | 200 Mythical Wood, 500 Paldium Fragment, 150 Soralite |
| | Level 73 | 4 | 100 Soralite Ingot, 20 Ancient Civilization Parts, 10 AI Core, 5 Ancient Civilization Core |

The belongs on that list too — 70 Stone, 100 Pure Quartz, 30 Paldium Fragments and 10 Ancient Civilization Parts buys you a node that never runs dry. Between it and the Hexolite Quartz Mine, a finished base stops needing field mining trips entirely, which is the real endgame this patch was building toward.

## New Gear and Consumables

The mobility accessories are the ones that change how the map feels. [Air Dash Boots](https://palworld-db.com/item/Accessory_AirDash1) at level 35 and [Double Jump Boots](https://palworld-db.com/item/Accessory_JumpCount_Increase1) at 40 both cost 2 technology points, and both have upgrade tiers behind them — the air dash line runs to Double at 61 and Triple at 65. The [Revival Potion](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalRevive) at 61 is the safety net for hard content, since it brings back a Pal that has gone down rather than making you swap.

Pouches are the boring pick that everyone should take anyway. Four sizes at levels 27, 43, 53 and 57, costing 2 to 4 points each, and each one raises carrying capacity just by being in your inventory. If you are already juggling slots, [the weapon and food slot guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-get-more-weapon-and-food-slots) covers the other half of that problem.

| Item | Unlock | Points | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Small Pouch](https://palworld-db.com/item/AdditionalInventory_001) | Level 27 | 2 | Raises carrying capacity while held |
| [Air Dash Boots](https://palworld-db.com/item/Accessory_AirDash1) | Level 35 | 2 | Mid-air dash |
| [Double Jump Boots](https://palworld-db.com/item/Accessory_JumpCount_Increase1) | Level 40 | 2 | Mid-air jump |
| [Medium Pouch](https://palworld-db.com/item/AdditionalInventory_002) | Level 43 | 2 | More capacity than the Small Pouch |
| [Large Pouch](https://palworld-db.com/item/AdditionalInventory_003) | Level 53 | 3 | More capacity again |
| [Giant Pouch](https://palworld-db.com/item/AdditionalInventory_004) | Level 57 | 4 | The biggest capacity bonus in the line |
| [Metal Detector](https://palworld-db.com/item/MetalDetector) | Level 58 | 3 | Marks buried Chromite in dungeons |
| [Revival Potion](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalRevive) | Level 61 | 3 | Revives a downed Pal |

0.4.11 also introduced Sphere Modules, which clip onto a sphere to curve its flight and push capture rate, plus the Sphere Critical mechanic that rewards hitting a Pal's weak spot with a temporary capture bonus. The full module list and their recipes are in [the sphere modules guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-sphere-modules).

## Pal Adjustments and the Rainbow Passive Tier

Four Pals got work suitability bumps in this patch, and every one of them has been raised again since — the 1.0 rebalance moved these numbers far past where 0.4.11 left them, so the table below is worth reading as a trajectory rather than a current spec. [Selyne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/selyne) is the clearest case: the patch nudged her Handiwork from 3 to 4, and she now sits at **7**, which is top-of-class handiwork with Medicine Production 6 attached to it.

[Blazamut Ryu](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut-ryu) is the other one that ran away with it. Kindling 3 to 4 in 0.4.11, and today it carries **Kindling 6 and Mining 7** on a rarity-10 body — one of the very few Pals that is both a top-tier fighter and a top-tier base worker. [Cryolinx](https://palworld-db.com/pal/cryolinx) was given Transporting outright by this patch and now runs a four-way spread of Handiwork 3, Lumbering 4, Cooling 4 and Transporting 4, which makes it the utility pick of the group rather than a specialist.

| Pal | 0.4.11 change | Where it stands now |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Blazamut Ryu](https://palworld-db.com/pal/blazamut-ryu) | Kindling 3 → 4 | Kindling 6, Mining 7 |
| [Selyne](https://palworld-db.com/pal/selyne) | Handiwork 3 → 4 | Handiwork 7, Medicine Production 6, Transporting 3 |
| [Knocklem](https://palworld-db.com/pal/knocklem) | Mining 3 → 4 | Mining 7, Transporting 7, Gathering 4 |
| [Cryolinx](https://palworld-db.com/pal/cryolinx) | Transporting added | Handiwork 3, Lumbering 4, Cooling 4, Transporting 4 |

The bigger long-term change was the rainbow passive tier. **Swift** was promoted into it, and it still sits there today at 30% movement speed alongside Legend, Diamond Body, Eternal Engine and the rest — **53 passives** occupy that tier now, and only the seven World Tree passives added at 1.0 rank above it. Promoting Swift also cut how often it rolls, which is why a Swift Pal is a genuinely lucky breed rather than a given.

Work suitability books arrived in the same patch as a way to raise a Pal's suitability permanently instead of praying for the right passive. There are **12 of them**, one per work type, from the Applied Handiwork Handbook through to the Applied Ranching Handbook, and raid bosses hand them out as choice rewards. Partner skill recovery on [Felbat](https://palworld-db.com/pal/felbat) and [Lovander](https://palworld-db.com/pal/lovander) also moved from 6% to 10% here — a meaningful bump for anyone running a sustain build. Fresh active skills went to sixteen Pals including [Vanwyrm](https://palworld-db.com/pal/vanwyrm), [Astegon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/astegon), [Univolt](https://palworld-db.com/pal/univolt), [Beakon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/beakon), [Jormuntide](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jormuntide) and [Wumpo](https://palworld-db.com/pal/wumpo).

## Xenolord, Predators, and Bounties

[Xenolord](https://palworld-db.com/pal/xenolord) is the dark mechanical dragon this patch put at the top of the raid ladder, and it is still the fourth rung of five. It summons at **level 65** and pays 3-6 Ancient Civilization Cores, 4-5 Training Crystals, a Xenolord (Ultra) Slab and a guaranteed Dragon Skill Fruit: Dragon Meteor — all at 100%, so a clear is never a wasted summon. The tier-2 version at level 80 swaps that for 10 Cores, 10 Training Crystals and Xenolord's head. The slab hunt is in [how to get Xenolord](https://palworld-db.com/guides/xenolord-raid-guide) and the fight itself is in [how to beat Xenolord](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-beat-xenolord-raid-boss).

Predator Pals were the other new threat — rare, much stronger versions of ordinary Pals that roam the world and drop the [Predator Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/PredatorCrystal), a rarity-3 material with no crafting recipe anywhere. If you want Predator Cores, killing predators is the only route, which is unusual in a game where almost everything has a workshop alternative.

Bounties turned field bosses into a permanent-progress system rather than a one-off kill. There are **101 bounty tokens tied to named Pal bosses**, and simply owning a token grants its passive effect forever — you never consume them. Every payout is listed in [the Pal bounty tokens guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-pal-bounty-tokens), and the human targets with their Gold rewards are in [all bounty targets](https://palworld-db.com/guides/all-bounty-targets). The Platform Oil Rig and its **Attack Chopper** boss landed here as well, on top of the Barge Oil Rig as the beginner version — the earlier Rayne Syndicate rig is covered in [the Test Drilling Rig guide](https://palworld-db.com/guides/rayne-syndicate-test-drilling-rig), and there are **56 oil rig crates** pinned on [the oil rig crate layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=oilrigcrate).

> **Tip.** If you are reinstalling and want the fastest payoff from this patch, build the [Pal Labor Research Lab](https://palworld-db.com/structures) before anything else — level 19 and 30 Ingots buys you 168 permanent upgrades, including the Expedition Speed and Expedition Rewards lines that make every later expedition pay more. It is the cheapest structure in the update and the only one whose value compounds.

## The Short Answer

**Palworld 0.4.11 released December 23, 2024 on Steam and Xbox, and it is the Feybreak update.** It added the Feybreak island with 3,588 loot caches and 201 chests, [Chromite](https://palworld-db.com/item/Chromium) and [Hexolite Quartz](https://palworld-db.com/item/RainbowCrystal), 13 weapons plus 5 elemental grenades spanning tech 26 to 61, 18 expeditions, 168 research projects, 14 base structures, the [Xenolord](https://palworld-db.com/pal/xenolord) raid at level 65, predators, bounty tokens, Sphere Modules, Hardcore and Random Pal modes, and the rainbow passive tier that Swift still sits in. All of it is already in your current build — none of it needs a download, and most of it is still worth doing.
