Version **1.0.3** is live on every platform, and unlike the pure repair job that was [the 1.0.2 update](https://palworld-db.com/guides/palworld-1-0-2-patch-notes), this one moves real numbers. Three late-game unlocks got cheaper, [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) from trees doubled, [World Tree Holy Water](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeHolyWater) picked up four new sources, and dedicated-server hosts got a switch they have been asking for since launch.

## Palworld 1.0.3 Release Date and Platforms

The patch went out on **August 12, 2026** across Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and One S, and Game Pass. It is a mixed patch — balance changes plus roughly forty fixes — so it is worth reading rather than skipping. If you play on a dedicated server, everyone has to be on the same build before they can connect, which is covered in [our guide to updating a Palworld server](https://palworld-db.com/guides/how-to-update-your-palworld-server).

## The Buffs Worth Logging In For

Four changes actually alter how a save progresses, and the rest are polish. The [Jetragon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jetragon) unlock moving down nine levels is the headline because it pulls the fastest mount in the game out of the level-79 dead zone. The [Aquatic Construction Kit](https://palworld-db.com/item/WaterBuildKit) cut is the sleeper — a 43-level drop plus a point refund — and the [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) doubling quietly touches almost two hundred recipes at once.

| Change | Before | After | Why it matters |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Jetragon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jetragon) tech unlock | Level 79 | Level 70 | Nine levels earlier on the game's fastest mount, and its Pal Gear costs less to build |
| [Aquatic Construction Kit](https://palworld-db.com/item/WaterBuildKit) tech | Level 66, 4 points | Level 23, 1 point | Sea bases stop being an endgame-only project, and you keep 3 Ancient Technology Points |
| [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) from trees | Base yield | Doubled | Feeds 140 item recipes and 57 base structures — the single widest-reaching buff here |
| [World Tree Holy Water](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeHolyWater) | Field drops only | 4 new sources, lighter, longer | Stops World Tree resources vanishing for longer, at 1/10th the carry weight |

### Jetragon Unlocks Nine Levels Earlier

Both [Jetragon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jetragon) technologies sat at level 79 before this patch — the Jetragon Statue and [Jetragon's Missile Launcher](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkillUnlock_JetDragon), the Pal Gear that makes it fire missiles while ridden. Moving that gate to 70 matters because Jetragon is the [fastest mount in Palworld](https://palworld-db.com/mount-speeds) at 3,300 sprint speed with 110 stamina, and level 79 is deep enough into the grind that most players had already stopped needing a travel upgrade by the time they got it.

The Pal Gear materials also came down, though Pocketpair didn't publish the new figures. Below is what the recipe asked for before the patch, so you can see how much of the bill is actually shrinking — the 210 Paldium Fragments and 24 AI Cores were the painful part, not the Leather.

| Material | Qty before 1.0.3 |
| --- | --- |
| [Paldium Fragment](https://palworld-db.com/item/Pal_crystal_S) | 210 |
| [Leather](https://palworld-db.com/item/Leather) | 70 |
| [Paloxite Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeIngot) | 60 |
| [AI Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AIcore) | 24 |

Jetragon itself is unchanged: rarity 20, pure Dragon, 140 Shot Attack and 120 Defense, with Gathering 8 as its only work suitability. It is a travel and burst-damage Pal, not a base worker, and nothing in 1.0.3 alters that.

### Aquatic Construction Kit Falls From 66 to 23

This is the biggest single number in the patch. The [Aquatic Construction Kit](https://palworld-db.com/item/WaterBuildKit) — the unlock that lets you put foundations on water — dropped 43 levels, from 66 to 23, and its Ancient Technology Point cost went from 4 down to 1. Only seven Ancient Technology unlocks cost a full 4 points, so getting three of them back is a genuine refund when the full [technology tree](https://palworld-db.com/tech) wants 185 Ancient Technology Points across 51 boss unlocks.

One caveat the patch notes don't mention: the crafting recipe wasn't touched, and it still asks for materials that are gated well above level 23. Coralum Ingot is a level 62 tech and High Quality Wooden Board is level 43, so unlocking the kit early buys you the point saving and the plan, not an actual sea base in the twenties.

| Material | Qty | Tech level of the material |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Cement](https://palworld-db.com/item/Cement) | 200 | 19 |
| [High Quality Wooden Board](https://palworld-db.com/item/HighGrade_Processed_Wood) | 100 | 43 |
| [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot) | 50 | 62 |

### Trees Now Drop Double Fiber

[Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber) gathered from trees is doubled. It looks small next to a mount unlock, but Fiber appears in 140 craftable item recipes and 57 base structures, which makes it the most-used single material this patch touches. Anyone who has run a bow-and-arrow phase, built out a wooden base, or kept an arrow stockpile for [a fresh base site](https://palworld-db.com/guides/best-base-locations) has felt that ceiling.

You can still convert 1 Wood into 2 Fiber at a workbench, so this change mainly rewards hand-gathering and Lumbering Pals over the crafting loop. There are 4,654 tree nodes marked on [our Palworld map with the Lumber layer on](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=res_lumber), and the densest clusters are the ones worth building next to now.

## World Tree Holy Water Got Four New Sources

[World Tree Holy Water](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeHolyWater) is the consumable that stops World Tree resources from despawning as you approach them, and before 1.0.3 it came from field drops in the World Tree and from the Pals living there. The patch extends its duration, cuts its weight from 1.0 to 0.1, and adds it to four new places: World Tree expeditions, World Tree fishing, Large Fishing Pond rewards, and Teafant Spring. Drop rates from World Tree Pals and from Teafant Spring both went up as well.

The weight cut is the part that changes behaviour. At 1.0 per unit, carrying a real stack cost you inventory room you wanted for ore; at 0.1 you can hold 100 for the weight of ten. That matters because the [Ancient Hot Spring](https://palworld-db.com/structures) alone eats 10 Holy Water per build, on top of 100 Paloxite Ingot.

| Source | What it is | Detail |
| --- | --- | --- |
| World Tree expeditions | Two [expedition](https://palworld-db.com/expeditions) routes | World Tree Subterrenean City Ruins (Hard, 60 min) and The World Tree's Forbidden Area (Very Hard, 120 min) |
| World Tree fishing | [55 fishing spots plus 22 rare spots](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=fishing,fishing_rare&region=tree) | Passive income while you clear the region |
| | Base structure, level 69 tech | Turns Holy Water into a hands-off base yield |
| Teafant Spring | World Tree landmark | Rate increased; also had its broken water sound effect fixed |
| World Tree Pals | 53 Pals drop it at 50% | 1-3 per kill; 38 of them spawn inside the World Tree region |

If you are farming it from Pals rather than waiting on expeditions, spawn density decides everything. Across the World Tree region those 53 droppers occupy 1,797 spawn points, and a handful dominate the count — these are the ones to sweep.

| Pal | Spawn points in the World Tree | Drop rate |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Solmora Lux](https://palworld-db.com/pal/solmora-lux) | 160 | 50% for 1-3 |
| [Whalaska Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/whalaska-ignis) | 112 | 50% for 1-3 |
| [Sibelyx Primo](https://palworld-db.com/pal/sibelyx-primo) | 82 | 50% for 1-3 |
| [Roujay](https://palworld-db.com/pal/roujay) | 80 | 50% for 1-3 |
| [Bastigor](https://palworld-db.com/pal/bastigor) | 69 | 50% for 1-3 |
| [Shaolong](https://palworld-db.com/pal/shaolong) | 63 | 50% for 1-3 |

## Oil, Power, and Base Missions

Three of the most expensive base structures in the game got cheaper to build, and the two oil extractors also produce faster. These were the classic late-game wall: you finally reach an oil field, then discover the machine that sits on it wants 250 Pal Metal Ingots. The notes don't state the new totals, so here is what they cost before the patch — read them as the ceiling, not the current price.

| Structure | Build cost before 1.0.3 | Tech level | Also changed |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| | 250 Pal Metal Ingot, 50 Circuit Board | 50 | Production speed increased |
| | 300 Pal Metal Ingot, 50 Circuit Board, 50 Bio Battery, 10 Ancient Civilization Parts | 51 | Production speed increased |
| | 200 Pal Metal Ingot, 200 Electric Organ | 50 | Build cost only |

There is also a quiet quality-of-life fix worth knowing: the base mission that asks you to place a Crude Oil Extractor now counts the High-Pressure version too. Players who skipped straight to the upgrade were stuck holding an uncompletable objective. If you want to plan your extractor placement first, there are 185 oil fields marked on [the map's Oil Fields layer](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=oilfield) — and the High-Pressure model doesn't need one, at the cost of 3,000 power draw instead of 2,000.

## New Server Setting for Enemy Camps

Dedicated servers get one new option: `bAllowEnemyCampSpawnNearBaseCamp`. By default the game suppresses enemy camp spawns near a player base; this setting lets a host turn that suppression off so camps spawn normally regardless of where people build. It is aimed at PvP-leaning and hardcore servers where the suppression was being used to make bases untouchable.

It only matters if your server's builders have parked on top of camp territory. There are 48 enemy camps on Palpagos plus 10 sea base camps, all visible on [the map's Enemy Camps layers](https://palworld-db.com/map?layers=camp,camp_seabase), so it is easy to check whether any of your base sites are sitting on one before you flip the switch.

## Crash and Progression Fixes

Four of these were hard stops rather than annoyances, and three are console-specific. The Xbox One crash near World Tree field bosses is the worst of them — an outright close while approaching a fight you have to win to progress. The Sunreach fix matters to anyone who explored ahead of the story: removing the barrier before accepting the main mission could lock that mission chain permanently.

| Platform | Problem | Severity |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Xbox One / One S | Crash when moving near Field Bosses in the World Tree | Run-ending |
| PS5 | Crash opening the Global Palbox with parental controls active | Run-ending |
| PS5 / Xbox | Cursor vanished on the "world settings too high" message, blocking progress | Progression block |
| All | Sunreach mission stuck if the barrier was removed before accepting the main mission | Progression block |
| PC | Fullscreen resolution settings not applying, and unintended fullscreen return after F11 or Alt+Enter | Annoyance |

## Pal, Boss, and Multiplayer Fixes

[Panthalus](https://palworld-db.com/pal/panthalus) gets its second patch in a row. In 1.0.2 the fight was disconnecting dedicated-server groups; in 1.0.3 its wave attack no longer draws a hitbox that disagrees with the visual, which is the kind of bug that makes a 200-Defence Water boss feel unfair rather than hard. Raid boss progression failures were also fixed, so if a summon was refusing to advance, it should behave now.

The summoned-Pal bugs are the ones most players will notice day to day: a Pal you sent out could simply stop fighting, or stop helping with base work, until you recalled it. Both are fixed. [Orserk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/orserk)'s partner skill also failed to show its effect in multiplayer, which mattered because Ferocious Thunder Dragon stacks a bullet-hit buff from 1 up to 5 and you could not see whether it was building.

| Fix | Where it bit you |
| --- | --- |
| [Panthalus](https://palworld-db.com/pal/panthalus) wave effect and damage range mismatch | Taking hits from an attack that looked like it missed |
| Raid boss progression failures | [Raid](https://palworld-db.com/raid-bosses) summons refusing to advance |
| Summoned Pal stopping combat | Your Pal idles mid-fight |
| Summoned Pal stopping base work assistance | Your Pal idles at base |
| [Orserk](https://palworld-db.com/pal/orserk) partner skill effect not displaying | Multiplayer only; buff was invisible |
| Alpha [Surfent](https://palworld-db.com/pal/surfent) not producing Leather on a Ranch | Broke a rank 2 [Ranch](https://palworld-db.com/ranch) Leather source |
| Co-op lighting errors after cutscenes and the ending | Visual |
| Co-op stutter during the World Tree entrance cutscene | Performance |
| Fast Travel firing during Tower Boss fights on dedicated servers | Yanked you out of a [tower boss](https://palworld-db.com/tower-bosses) fight |
| Pals vibrating rapidly on client screens | Visual, dedicated servers |

## Exploits and Reward Tables Corrected

Two exploits are closed. An item duplication bug during certain actions is gone, and [Katress](https://palworld-db.com/pal/katress)' partner skill no longer hands out free spheres: Mystical Black Magic recovers used spheres at 10% to 50% depending on rank, and swapping the skill while mounted was letting players choose which sphere type came back. That is a straight economy fix on a rank 6 Dark Pal a lot of people keep in their capture team.

On the reward side, the normal Moon Lord fight and the Ultra tier raid bosses both had reward settings that were off from intended, and both were corrected. The Moon Lord pool is the [Tides of Terraria](https://palworld-db.com/guides/tides-of-terraria-update) loot everyone is chasing, so recheck what actually drops before you commit another run — the numbers below are what the pool contained going into the patch.

| Moon Lord reward | Fight | Rate |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Legendary Meowmere](https://palworld-db.com/item/YakushimaBlade005) | Normal (Lv 50) | 22% |
| [Moon Lord Mask](https://palworld-db.com/item/YakushimaHeadEquip005) | Normal (Lv 50) | 10% |
| [Ancient Civilization Core](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientParts2) | Normal (Lv 50) | 100%, 4-6 |
| [Ancient Civilization Parts](https://palworld-db.com/item/PalCrystal_Ex) | Ultra (Lv 80) | 100%, 10-20 |
| [Diamond](https://palworld-db.com/item/Diamond) | Ultra (Lv 80) | 100%, 5-10 |
| | Ultra (Lv 80) | 100% |

Smaller reward corrections round it out: one Desert expedition was handing out a reward it wasn't meant to, the [Scatter Sphere Launcher](https://palworld-db.com/item/SphereLauncher) family had its firing interval put back to spec, and [Dark Skill Fruit: Psycho Gravity](https://palworld-db.com/item/SkillCard_Psychokinesis) now shows up in the item search screen where every other [skill fruit](https://palworld-db.com/skill-fruits) already did.

## Building, Sound, and Interface Polish

The base-building fixes are the ones builders will feel immediately. Stairs and slanted roofs were reporting a placement footprint that didn't match their actual shape, which is why a piece would refuse to snap somewhere it visibly fit — and stairs specifically couldn't be placed against the side of a foundation or roof. Both are corrected, so awkward multi-level bases should go together without the usual fight.

| Area | Change |
| --- | --- |
| Building | Stair and slanted-roof placement detection now matches the real shape |
| Building | Stairs can be placed on foundation and roof sides |
| Graphics | Boundary display adjusted in some areas for better distance visibility |
| Graphics | Dungeon object display quality improved |
| Graphics | Fixed full-screen blur when certain effects appear while aiming |
| Sound | New sound effect when drinking [World Tree Holy Water](https://palworld-db.com/item/WorldTreeHolyWater) |
| Sound | Attack Chopper BGM no longer plays from absurd distances on dedicated servers |
| Sound | Footsteps no longer trigger on furniture and facilities |
| Controls | "Attack that enemy!" key assignment restores to default correctly |
| Map | Beach-style water no longer lingers after fast travelling to an offshore base |
| Crafting | [Ancient Armor](https://palworld-db.com/item/AncientArmor_5) series craft work amount adjusted |

That last row is worth a second look. Pocketpair listed the Ancient Armor change as an adjustment without saying which direction it went. Going into the patch every legendary Ancient piece sat at 16,000,000 work units, and the four Ancient body armours held the top four defence values in the game at 1,040 to 1,092. Hexolite Armor costs twice the work — 32,000,000 — for 754 to 780 defence, so the Ancient set was already the efficient pick before anything moved.

> **Tip.** If you were saving [Ancient Technology Points](https://palworld-db.com/tech) for the [Aquatic Construction Kit](https://palworld-db.com/item/WaterBuildKit), respec your plan. Dropping it from 4 points to 1 frees three points against a tree that demands 185 in total across 51 boss unlocks — enough to buy a whole extra 4-point tech such as the [Large Power Generator](https://palworld-db.com/structures) or the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor, both of which also got cheaper to build in this same patch.

## Should You Update Straight Away?

Yes, and there is no real choice on console or dedicated servers anyway. The short version: [Jetragon](https://palworld-db.com/pal/jetragon) arrives nine levels sooner, sea bases stop costing four Ancient Technology Points, trees give twice the [Fiber](https://palworld-db.com/item/Fiber), oil and power infrastructure got cheaper and faster, and two run-ending console crashes are gone. Nothing in 1.0.3 nerfs a build or invalidates gear, so the only reason to hesitate is a mid-run raid you want to finish first — and even that argues for updating, given the raid progression fix.
