Coralum Ore is the deep-sea metal behind **Coralum Ingots** and the better fishing rods — and unlike regular ores, you won't chip it off a rock. It comes from ocean Pals and from fishing itself. Here's every source, with numbers.

## Pals That Drop Coralum Ore

Three Pals carry Coralum Ore, and the math strongly favors one of them: [Neptilius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/neptilius) hands over a guaranteed 10 per takedown — more than three times a Whalaska kill — and respawns as a fixed level 60 alpha. The Whalaskas are the fallback when you want ore from fishing or regular spawns instead of a boss fight.

| Pal | Drops | Where |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Whalaska](https://palworld-db.com/pal/whalaska) | 2–3 guaranteed | [187 spawn spots](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=IceNarwhal) · also an [Alpha](https://palworld-db.com/alpha-pals) at Lv 55 · bites while [fishing](https://palworld-db.com/fishing) (Lv 50–69) |
| [Whalaska Ignis](https://palworld-db.com/pal/whalaska-ignis) | 2–3 guaranteed | [112 spawn spots](https://palworld-db.com/map?pal=IceNarwhal_Fire) · Alpha at Lv 74 · fishable at Lv 71–79 |
| [Neptilius](https://palworld-db.com/pal/neptilius) | **10 guaranteed** | Alpha boss at Lv 60 — no wild spawns, so every takedown is a big payday |

## Fish It Out of the Deep Sea

The ore's own description says it: grab a **magnet and a fishing rod**. Coralum Ore turns up while [fishing at wild spots](https://palworld-db.com/fishing) and even from a base **Fishing Pond**, so a dedicated fishing session doubles as an ore run. A few field treasure chests carry it too.

> **Tip.** Whalaska is the sweet spot: it has a huge spawn range, drops ore on every hunt, and shows up on your fishing line in the same waters. One trip, three income streams.

## Expeditions Bring Back the Most Per Trip

Hunting and fishing are the hands-on routes, but the largest single payout comes from sending a team out. **Sunreach Isle** returns **30–50 Coralum Ore** for a 60-minute Hard expedition, which beats a fishing session outright, and the 120-minute Very Hard **Sunreach Dragon Husk** adds another 10–20 on top. Neither costs you a trip, so the right habit is to keep an expedition running in the background while you farm something else.

The oil rigs are worth knowing about too: their crates hold 8–12 per grab, and the large rig pays 15–20, so a rig run doubles as an ore run. Salvaging wrecks turns up the ore as well. Between expeditions, rig crates and the Pals below, there is no single best method — there is whichever one fits what you are already doing.

## What Coralum Ore Is Used For

The ore itself is just the pipeline's first step: two ore smelt into a Coralum Ingot, and the ingots feed the fishing-rod tree. If you're pushing into fishing seriously, the Intermediate Rod's 10-ore cost is the number to farm toward.

| Recipe | Ore needed |
| --- | --- |
| [Coralum Ingot](https://palworld-db.com/item/ManganeseIngot) | ×2 |
| [Beginner Fishing Rod (Gumoss)](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingRod_01_2) | ×3 |
| [Intermediate Fishing Rod (Croajiro)](https://palworld-db.com/item/FishingRod_02_2) | ×10 |
