## Notes we already publish

- (use) Put a number on the two effects before you spend 130 materials on it. Fire Damage Reduction Lv. 4 takes 35% off incoming Fire damage, and Lv. 4 is the top of that ladder — no other piece of equipment cuts Fire harder. The catch is what you are upgrading from: every rarity of [[item:Accessory_FireResist_1]], plain, +1 and +2 alike, is stuck on Lv. 3, which is 30%. So the charm buys you five percentage points over a ring you can already craft, and the only other item in the game carrying Lv. 4 is [[item:Accessory_Otomo_Water_1]].
- (use) The heat half is where it actually pays. Heat Resistance Lv. 3 is the highest heat band any accessory grants, the exact band [[item:Accessory_HeatResist_1]] gives at all three of its rarities — so the moment this charm goes on, the undershirt has nothing left to add and your second accessory slot opens up for weight, HP or a second element line. One slot doing two jobs is the argument for it, not the 35%.
- (strategy) Check your chest piece first. Heat Resistant Hexolite Armor and Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor already carry Heat Resistance Lv. 3 on their own, and both throw in Fire Damage Reduction Lv. 1. Wearing either, the charm's heat line is dead weight and you are paying the full recipe for the Fire cut alone — a fine trade for a scripted fire fight, a poor one for ordinary volcano travel, where the armour has you covered and a Ring of Fire Resistance closes most of the gap for a fraction of the Ancient Bark.
