## Notes we already publish

- (use) Buying the level 11 node is only half of it — the bench you have been using since minute one will not take this recipe. The earliest station that accepts it is the High-Quality Workbench, itself a level 11 technology, so the axe and the bench arrive on the same level-up and cost you two purchases rather than one. After that nothing ever forces a downgrade: every general-purpose bench above it takes the recipe too (Production Assembly Line at 29, Production Assembly Line II at 42, Advanced Workshop at 62), the whole weapon line accepts it once the Weapon Workbench opens at 20, and the Ancient Workbench builds it as well. Practical effect at level 11: put the High-Quality Workbench down first, then read the recipe.
- (use) The 15 [[item:CopperIngot]] is the part that has to be planned ahead, because it is not a gather. Each bar is 2 [[item:CopperOre]], so the axe is 30 ore fed through a furnace, and the Primitive Furnace is a level 10 technology — one level before the axe itself. If you have not spent that point and mined the ore by the time you hit 11, the recipe sits greyed out while you go back for it. The [[item:Stone]] and [[item:Wood]] halves of the bill are the trivial part; the smelter is the gate.
- (strategy) This is the axe you carry longest. [[item:Axe_Tier_00]] holds the slot from level 1 to 11 with 20 attack and 150 durability, this one from 11 to 34, and [[item:Axe_Tier_02]] only arrives at level 34 for another 2 points — so 23 levels, the widest gap anywhere in the line, run on this tool. What the 2 points buy immediately is half again the damage and two thirds more durability for 5 extra weight, which is worth it purely on the swings-between-crafts arithmetic: 250 durability against 150 means noticeably fewer replacement axes on a long harvesting trip. Worth knowing about the far end too — the Refined Metal Axe doubles damage to 60 but adds only 50 durability, so the upgrade at 34 is about speed, not about the tool lasting longer.
