## Notes we already publish

- (use) Work out the trade against the [[item:WeakerBow]] in damage per arrow spent, not damage per hit. The Old Bow puts 65 into one target for one [[item:Arrow]]; this one puts 40 into each of three, and still bills you a single Arrow. Two of the three connecting is already 80, so the volley only has to half-land to come out ahead, and a clean one is 120 — nearly double the Old Bow off the same ammo. The discount applies to the elemental arrows as well: a single [[item:Arrow_Fire]] or [[item:Arrow_Poison]] leaves your inventory and three of them fly.
- (strategy) The catch is the 40. Against anything you can only clip once — a small target at range, a Pal breaking past you — the Old Bow's single 65 hits harder than one arrow out of three, so the Three Shot Bow wants targets big enough or close enough to eat the whole volley. It also carries 250 durability against the Old Bow's 150, which is 100 extra shots between repairs, paid for with 2 more weight.
- (use) Its three rounds are the cheap end of the ammo tree, and the same stack feeds every crossbow you build later. The bows above it share none of it: [[item:CompoundBow]] runs on [[item:ReinforcedArrow]] and [[item:SFBow]] on [[item:SFArrow]], each its own crafting line. So the Three Shot Bow is the last point on the ranged ladder where your ammo is still 2 Wood and 2 Stone for a batch of ten.
