## Notes we already publish

- (use) Cake is a Cooking Pot dish, and the pot is a level 17 entry costing 2 technology points plus 15 Ingot, 5 Wooden Board and 3 Flame Organ. The Mill at level 15 is the real gate, though: it is the only thing that turns Wheat into Flour, so a base that skipped it cannot bake at all no matter how many eggs the ranch is sitting on.
- (strategy) One Cake is five separate supply lines. Flour comes from Wheat run through the Mill, and a Wheat Plantation takes about 4.5 minutes of work per 10 Wheat. Red Berries come off a Berry Plantation at roughly 3 minutes per 10, or from Caprity on a Ranch. The other three are all Ranch drops and nothing else: Mozzarina for Milk, Chikipi for Egg, Beegarde or Elizabee for Honey. Milk and Egg are the ones that throttle you at 7 and 8 per Cake, so put multiple Mozzarina and Chikipi down before you widen anything else.
- (strategy) The pot cooks on Kindling, so parking a strong fire Pal on it turns a slow bake into a fast one — Jormuntide Ignis carries Kindling 7, the ceiling for the job.
- (breeding) The Breeding Farm eats one Cake per egg, so a batch of ten eggs is ten full recipes — 50 Flour, 80 Red Berries, 70 Milk, 80 Egg and 20 Honey. Plan the farm around what the ranch can actually push out per hour rather than around how many pairs you want breeding at once.
- (use) Cake rots like any other cooked dish. Left in an ordinary base chest a stack you baked for breeding will quietly decay before the pairs get through it, so keep it in the Breeding Farm's own box or a cooled container.
- (strategy) Do not feed it. 656 hunger is more than any Pal's stomach can bank, so most of it is thrown away, and every Cake you burn as a snack is one egg you are not hatching. Cheap salads and grilled meat cover feeding for a fraction of the input.
