## Notes we already publish

- (use) "Work speed goes up" is +50% Work Speed for 600 seconds, with 25% hunger resistance riding alongside it for the same ten minutes. Nothing else you can cook beats that 50% — only [[item:Hamburger_2]] matches it, and it trades the hunger half for SAN resistance. [[item:Minestrone]] is the next dish down at 40%.
- (use) The huge work-speed numbers you may have seen elsewhere are not a substitute: [[item:MushroomJuice]] is +600% and [[item:Narcotic]] +400%, but both expire after 10 seconds. The chowder runs sixty times longer, which makes it the only work buff worth building a crafting or construction session around.
- (strategy) Three separate ingredients put this out of reach of the Cooking Pot. The earliest bench that will list it is the Electric Kitchen at Technology 41 — which needs a generator feeding it power — followed by the Large-Scale Stone Oven at 49 and the Ancient Kitchen at 70. The crops are not the gate: the Tomato Plantation opens at 21 and the Lettuce Plantation at 25, so by the time you can cook this, both plots have been running for twenty levels.
- (strategy) It is 32,000 work per bowl, twenty times the 1,600 that turns the same [[item:Meat_LazyCatfish]] into [[item:BakedMeat_LazyCatfish]]. Queue a batch onto a Kindling worker and walk away rather than standing at the kitchen; one bowl of hand-cranked cooking costs more time than the ten minutes of buff gives back.
- (drops) [[pal:LazyCatfish]] drops a guaranteed 2 [[item:Meat_LazyCatfish]] per kill, so a single Dumud covers two bowls. If you would rather not hunt, the meat sells for 220 gold at caravan and dungeon shops and returns from the Hidden Sanctum of the Desert expedition (50% for 3-8), while [[item:Lettuce]] and [[item:Tomato]] are 80 gold each at the Desert and Volcano shops if your plots are behind.
