- (use) This is the cheap end of the throwable line. Everything but the organ is field stock — ten [[item:Stone]] and one [[item:Gunpowder]] — and the level-29 technology is the only spend, unlike [[item:FragGrenade_Water]], which needs a second 2-point technology at level 31 for [[item:Bio_Coolant]] before you can build a single one. That makes the Ice Grenade the first elemental throwable most runs can actually keep stocked, and the [[item:IceOrgan]] supply you set up for it is the same one the Water Grenade will want later.
- (use) One Ice Organ per grenade is the whole bottleneck, and it has a renewable answer: [[pal:IceFox]] or [[pal:Bastet_Ice]] on a ranch drops it on a loop with no combat at all. For a batch, kill instead — [[pal:IceHorse]] hands over 10 at a time, [[pal:KingAlpaca_Ice]] 3 to 6, [[pal:SnowTigerBeastman]] 2 to 5, and [[pal:CaptainPenguin]] 1 to 3, all at 100% rate. The Caravan, Desert and Dungeon merchants sell it outright at 300 Gold if you want to skip the trip, and a Very Hard expedition to the PAL Genetic Research Laboratory returns 10 to 20 per two-hour run.
- (strategy) Ice is the answer to Dragons, so this is the throwable to bring to [[pal:DarkMechaDragon]], [[pal:JetDragon]], [[pal:BlackMetalDragon]], [[pal:ThunderDragonMan]] and [[pal:LazyDragon]], and to the Dragon-heavy raids generally. The 750 damage is flat across the whole grenade family, so the element is the entire reason to pick this one — against a Fire target it is the worst throwable you own, and the plain [[item:FragGrenade]] does the same number for less. Stock a dedicated stack before a Dragon fight rather than carrying one of each.
