## Notes we already publish

- (use) A campfire will not take this recipe — it needs the Cooking Pot, which is technology level 17. Before that unlock the same cut only becomes [[item:BakedMeat_SheepBall]], so level 17 is the point where Lamball meat stops being a snack and starts being a work buff. The Electric Kitchen (41), Large-Scale Stone Oven (49) and Ancient Kitchen (70) cook the identical recipe, just faster.
- (use) The vague buff line is +30% work speed and 20% slower SAN drain, both running 600 seconds — a flat 10 minutes off one plate, regardless of how much of the 147 nutrition you actually needed. Eat it at the start of a mining or crafting stint rather than whenever hunger nags, or most of that window burns while you are walking.
- (use) Supply is exactly one dish per Lamball: [[pal:SheepBall]] yields a single [[item:Meat_SheepBall]] every time and nothing else on the island produces it. The greens are never the constraint — [[item:Lettuce]] is 80 gold at the Caravan, Desert and Volcano shops, and one lettuce plot returns 10 every 5.5 minutes, which is five dishes' worth per cycle. You will run out of mutton long before you run out of greens.
- (strategy) [[item:GrilledSheepHerbs]] is the same one mutton and the same 7,000 work, but 94 nutrition and a +10% Defense buff instead of the work speed. Berries are cheaper than lettuce, so keep the herb version for combat trips and spend the lettuce version on base days — the mutton itself is the thing you are allocating, not the vegetables.
- (strategy) [[item:Salad]] gives the identical +30% work speed for 4,000 work, no meat at all, and 2 Lettuce plus 2 Tomato off your own plots. What you pay the extra mutton and 3,000 work for is the 20% SAN resist and 147 nutrition against the salad's 84. On a long dungeon run or a night shift, where sanity is draining anyway, that half is the reason to cook this; if you only want the work bar to move at home, farm salads and bank the mutton.
- (strategy) Cooking is not a margin here — 120 gold of mutton and 160 of lettuce become a 340-gold dish, and 7,000 work is fourteen times the [[item:BakedMeat_SheepBall]] you could have made instead. Cook it because 3.0 weight of raw ingredients becomes a 0.5-weight plate that does not spoil, which is what makes it worth carrying on a long trip. [[item:Hamburger_2]] beats it outright at +50% work speed and +25% SAN resist, but asks 32,000 work and a flour mill.
