## Notes we already publish

- (use) The buff runs for 600 seconds — a flat ten minutes of knockback and flinch immunity from a single serving, with no ramp and no falloff. That is one of the longest food windows in the game, and it is the whole reason to cook the dish: the 90 food and 10 sanity are incidental next to it. Nothing about the effect scales with anything, so a stack of nine is nine separate ten-minute windows rather than a buff you deepen.
- (strategy) What immunity to flinch actually buys you is uninterrupted input. Every stagger you eat while aiming, reloading, throwing a sphere or lining up a glide is a lost second, and against a boss that chains hits those seconds are most of the fight. Ten minutes covers a full tower attempt end to end, so the dish is worth eating on the loading screen rather than mid-fight. It also stops the knock-off-a-ledge deaths that make aerial and cliffside farming miserable. In an ordinary base-building session it does nothing you will notice — cook it for the fight, not for the day.
- (location) Cooking happens at the Cooking Pot, which unlocks at technology level 17 for 2 points and is built from Ingot x15, Wooden Board x5 and Flame Organ x3. Every later kitchen takes the same recipe, so there is nothing to re-unlock at Electric Kitchen (level 41), Large-Scale Stone Oven (level 49) or Ancient Kitchen (level 70) — they just cook it faster and in more slots. A pot on a Kindling Pal's route turns spare sashimi into a boss-fight stockpile with no attention from you.
- (use) The single ingredient, [[item:Meat_SwordCutlassFish]], is a guaranteed 1-2 drop from [[pal:SwordCutlassfish]] and its Ignis variant [[pal:SwordCutlassfish_Fire]] at 100%, so one catch or kill is usually two dishes. The Caravan Shop also sells it at 600 Gold a piece if you have no coastline route set up. Grilling adds 120 Gold to the sell price over the raw slice, which is not a living, but it means cooking a surplus before selling it costs you nothing.
