# Coralum Ingot

An alloy smelted from Coralum Ore off the ocean floor. It shrugs off energy, which makes it a strong choice for weapons. Refined at a Gigantic Furnace.

## Notes we already publish

- (use) The crafted-item list above is only half the bill, because five base structures are paid for in this metal and none of them are items: Ancient Furnace 100 at Technology 66, Advanced Workshop 50 at 62, Advanced Weapon Assembly Line 50 at 63, Japanese-Style Hot Spring 30 at 64, and Large Fishing Pond 10 at 69. One of each costs 240 ingots — 480 Coralum Ore and 1,200 Coal — before a single weapon is forged.
- (strategy) The ingot itself unlocks at Technology 62, the same level as the Advanced Workshop it is the main cost of, so the recipe arrives already owing 50. Everything then lands inside eight levels: the two advanced benches at 62 and 63, the Energy Shotgun and Megaboost Gun at 63, the Overheat Rifle at 64, the Charge Rifle and Rocket Launcher at 65, the Ancient Furnace at 66. Points spent anywhere else in that window are points you will be waiting on smelter time to use.
- (strategy) Only the Gigantic Furnace smelts this, and it opens at Technology 58 — four levels ahead of the ingot — so build it early rather than treating it as part of the level 62 push. It is also the single bottleneck for the whole tier: [[item:StainlessSteel]] comes off the same bench and nothing else makes either metal, while the Advanced Workshop alone wants 50 of each and the Energy Shotgun another 155 and 130. Run more than one and keep Fire Pals with high Kindling on them, or the ore you dive for will just queue.
- (strategy) The Ancient Furnace is the odd entry on that list, and the one people misread as an upgrade. It costs 100 ingots plus 10 Ancient Civilization Cores and smelts exactly one thing — [[item:SkyislandIngot]]. This metal and [[item:StainlessSteel]] stay on the Gigantic Furnace permanently, so the 100 ingots buy a second, parallel chain rather than a faster version of this one. Keep the Gigantic Furnace standing and budget the space for both.
