- (use) Both equip effects sit at level 4 — the partner-attack buff and the Dark damage buff are each the top tier the game hands out on a baton. Every other elemental baton, from [[item:Otomo_ATLeaf_ElementBoost_1]] at the cheap end to [[item:Otomo_ATDragon_ElementBoost_1]] at the expensive end, carries the same two levels, so the price difference between them is a materials story, not a power story. Pick the baton by which element your partner actually attacks with; the attack half is identical whichever one you build.
- (strategy) The Dark half of the buff only pays out on Dark-element attacks, so it is wasted on a partner whose moveset is mostly Neutral filler. Check that the Pal you send out is actually swinging Dark moves before spending five Ancient Civilization Cores here.
