## Notes we already publish

- (location) Nothing on the Technology tree teaches this — the recipe rides on [[item:Blueprint_Otomo_ATNormal_ElementBoost_1]], and the paper only turns up in two places. Sunreach Isle is the main one: the chests floating in the Sunreach Skies caverns roll it at 2.38%, ordinary chests on the isle at 0.19%. The other is the large oil rig, where a crate has a 0.98% chance of it. The rig run is the efficient trip of the two, because the same crates that can hand you the schematic are also the best source of the five [[item:AncientParts2]] the build wants — a crate on either the small or the large rig drops 1-5 of them roughly half the time. Failing that, recycle ancient relics: Dormant, Gorgeous, Glowing and Glistening grades all return 5-10 cores at 24% to 41% per attempt, so a stack of relics you were never going to use covers the core cost without a boat ride.
- (use) The elemental half of this only fires for a Neutral partner. Put it on with a Fire or Dragon Pal out and you are paying 51,480 gold worth of materials for the Pal Attack Up Lv. 4 alone, which [[item:Accessory_PPAT_1]] already gives while also raising your own attack. Against that, on an actual Neutral partner the baton collapses two accessories into one slot: [[item:Otomo_Attack_up1]] and [[item:Otomo_ElementBoost_Normal_1]] carry the same two effects one rung lower, at Lv. 3 each, and each of them eats a slot. [[item:Otomo_DFNormal_ElementBoost_1]] is the mirror build — identical Neutral boost, Defense instead of Attack — so the choice between them is whether the partner is meant to kill things or survive them.
- (strategy) Budget the craft time. Every baton in the line is 200,000 work, a third more than the 150,000 that the talismans and rings cost, and this is the priciest of the ten at 51,480 gold. Queue it on a bench with your best Handiwork Pals rather than expecting it between two other jobs. The bench itself is the Production Assembly Line, Technology 29, which needs 200 power fed to it; Production Assembly Line II, the Advanced Workshop and the Ancient Workbench take the recipe too, so if you are already past that rung there is nothing to rebuild. [[item:Horn]] is the one material you can simply buy — every merchant family stocks it at 200 gold, so 30 of them is 6,000 gold and no hunting.
