- (use) Five stations take this recipe, and the one that matters is the one you already own when the technology unlocks. The weapon line's own rung for it is the Weapon Assembly Line II, but that bench is a level 47 technology while the pickaxe itself unlocks at 44 — for those three levels the recipe is craftable only on the workshop side, at the Production Assembly Line II you built back at 42. Above those two, the Advanced Workshop, the Advanced Weapon Assembly Line and the Ancient Workbench all accept it as well, so there is never a reason to keep an older bench standing for this.
- (use) Budget the crafting time before you queue it: the job is four times the work of the Refined Metal Pickaxe below it, so a base that produced the old one in a minute of Handiwork will chew through several on this. Put your highest Handiwork Pals on the bench, or start it and go do something else — the 100 Stone and 10 Pal Metal Ingot are the cheap part of the cost.
