## Notes we already publish

- (use) The buff is exact: +30% work speed and 25% slower hunger drain, both running for 10 minutes off a single slice. That is long enough to cover a full smelting or assembly-line stretch without stopping to eat again.
- (use) Pizza is a high-tier kitchen dish, not something a Campfire or Cooking Pot will take. The Electric Kitchen (technology level 41) is the earliest station that handles it, and it draws 50 electricity, so a generator has to be running before the recipe will start. The Large-Scale Stone Oven (level 49) and the Ancient Kitchen (level 70) cook it too and need no power at all — on an off-grid base the oven is the cheaper answer even though it unlocks later.
- (use) The real material cost is one step deeper than the recipe reads: the single Flour is three Wheat, so each Pizza consumes 3 Wheat, 2 Red Berries, 2 Tomato and 2 Milk. Every one of those comes off a plantation or a ranch, which makes this the rare buff dish a base can produce forever with nobody leaving to hunt.
- (strategy) For raw work speed there are stronger plates. [[item:Chowder]] and [[item:Hamburger_2]] both hit +50% for the same cooking effort, and [[item:Minestrone]] reaches +40%. What Pizza wins on is the package: it puts back more hunger than any other work-speed dish, and it is the only one of that group that stacks the speed bonus on top of the hunger-drain cut, so your crew works faster and eats less while doing it. Chowder and the hamburger both need meat, which is what you are paying for that extra 20%.
- (strategy) If all you want is the work-speed line and not the calories, [[item:Salad]] grants the same +30% for the same 10 minutes at roughly an eighth of the cooking labour. Save the Pizza for pals and players who are actually going hungry.
