## Notes we already publish

- (location) Three Pals drop these and none of them make you gamble — every one is a 100% drop, so the question is only which is easiest to reach. Robinquill Terra is the answer by a wide margin: it has 545 spawn points against Robinquill's 52, roughly a quarter of them packed around Duneshelter with more along the Desert Backbone and the PIDF Tower entrance, and it is out in daylight as readily as at night. Robinquill itself sits almost entirely in Mossanda Forest, and Petallia's 106 points split between Mount Flopie Summit, the Lake Center and the Secluded Cemetery. Either Robinquill hands over 1-2 a kill, so two or three of them is a finished plantation.
- (location) The hands-off alternative is a Ranch. Vaelet is the only Pal in the game whose Ranch output is seeds, and it rolls one of six from a shared table: Tomato is the most likely, then Wheat, then Potato at 8 of 45 weight — call it one drop in six. That ordering never changes, but the amount does. A base-rank Vaelet hands over 1-2 seeds a drop and a Vaelet four Condenser ranks up hands over 1-6, so the seed pen is worth building around a condensed bird rather than the first one you catch. Vaelet is a small target though — 32 spawn points total, 20 of them at the Secluded Cemetery, and only 12 of the 32 are awake in daylight.
- (use) No recipe anywhere in the game consumes Potato Seeds. Their single use is placing a Potato Plantation, which opens at Technology 29 for 2 points and costs 3 seeds, 30 Wood, 20 Stone and 3 Aquatic Pal Fluids — a one-time bill, since the plot regrows on its own forever after. Three is genuinely all you need, so there is no reason to hoard a stack. What the plot does need is staff covering Planting, Watering and Gathering at rank 1: miss any one of the three and the plantation does not run slowly, it stops dead at that step.
- (use) Potato earns its plot better than most crops once you look past cooking. It runs a 5.8-minute cycle for 10, quicker than Corn, Pumpkin, Carrot or Onion, and beyond French Fries, Gratin, Minestrone, Galeclaw Nikujaga and Mammorest Curry it is the heaviest vegetable in the Extravagant Vegetable Cake — 10 Potato per cake, more than the Onion or Carrot that recipe asks for. That cake is what goes in a Breeding Farm when you want mutations and faster-growing talents, so a potato plot is really breeding infrastructure that happens to also feed you.
