# Pengullet Lux's Rocket Launcher

A launcher loaded with Pengullet Lux instead of a warhead. Trigger the Partner Skill to shoot it at enemies for damage — Pengullet Lux is left incapacitated afterward.

## Basics

- Type: Essential / Essential_PalGear
- Max stack: 999999

## Recipe

- Ingot x24
- Stone x24
- Wooden Board x3
- Electric Organ x20
- Paldium Fragment x24

## Notes we already publish

- (location) There is nowhere to find this — it is a Technology entry that opens at level 18 for 2 points, and the build happens at a Pal Gear Workbench rather than a normal bench. The plain Pengullet Rocket Launcher sits one level below at 17 for the same 2 points, so anyone who took that one is a single level away from this one. The recipe is that same launcher scaled up by a fifth — 24 Ingot, 24 Stone, 24 Paldium Fragment and 3 Wooden Board against the original's 20/20/20/3, with 36,000 work instead of 30,000 — plus one line the original does not have at all: 20 Electric Organ. That is the only entry on the bill a level-18 player will not already be sitting on, and the Pal you are building it for covers it, since Pengullet Lux drops 1 to 2 Electric Organ every time you knock one down. Sparkit pays the same 1 to 2, Jolthog a flat 1, and if you are further along Grizzbolt gives 2 to 4 and Prixter Lux 4 to 5.
- (catch) The gear is useless without the Pal, and Pengullet Lux does not come out in daylight — every one of the 653 spawn points we hold for it is a night-time point, with nothing at all during the day. The densest ground is Thirst's End, Desiccated Coast and Windwatch Outlook, each carrying about 9.6% of those points. If you would rather not wait for dark, breed for it: Pengullet with Sparkit produces Pengullet Lux directly, and that is the same Sparkit you were farming for the 20 Electric Organ, so one pen answers both halves of the build.
- (use) Activating the skill hands you the launcher itself, so there is no Rocket Ammo to craft or carry — Pengullet Lux is the round, and it is incapacitated the moment it lands. Damage climbs with condense rank, but the tooltip hides the real figures behind letters, showing a blank at rank 1 and then Damage Up S, M, L and XL at ranks 2 through 5. The numbers underneath are 300 power uncondensed, then 335, 375, 450 and 550 at four stars. Because firing costs you the Pal for the rest of the fight, the shot wants to be an opener against something big rather than something you reach for twice.
- (strategy) Against the plain Pengullet Rocket Launcher the gap is exactly 50 power at every rung of the ladder — 250/285/325/400/500 there against 300/335/375/450/550 here — which means the upgrade is worth 20% while both Pals are uncondensed and only 10% once both are at four stars. Condensing the Pengullet you already own closes more of the gap than switching Pals does, so build this for the Pal you intend to condense, not as a straight replacement. The other level-18 launcher gear is Tocotoco's Gloves, same 2 points at the same level, and it tops out at 200 power against this one's 550. It is the cheaper build by some way — 60 pieces of common material against 95, and 10,000 work against 36,000. Take the gloves if you just want a cheap explosive to open with, and this if the opener has to actually kill something.
