## Notes we already publish

- (use) Tarantriss' Web is three things stacked under one name, and the saddle switches on all of them at once. Mounted, you get a second jump in mid-air. You also get a web line you can fire at terrain to reel yourself in at speed — the game calls the underlying action UniqueRideShooting_Grappling, and Tarantriss is the only Pal in the roster that carries it. Third is a flat ride-speed bonus, and this is where the tooltip misleads: condense rank 1 grants nothing at all. The ladder begins at rank 2 with 10%, then 12, 15 and 20% at ranks 3, 4 and 5. It applies while you are actually in the saddle and in no other state — sitting in the party, deployed at your side or working a base all read as off — and a second Tarantriss in the party adds nothing, since the effect is flagged non-stackable.
- (use) The grapple is on its own cooldown ladder, separate from the speed one and far more valuable: 4 seconds at rank 1, then 3, 2, 1 and 0 at rank 5. Zero is not a rounding artifact. Thirteen distinct partner-skill cooldown ladders exist in the game and this is the only one that bottoms out at nothing — the next-shallowest, Azurmane's dash, still leaves 0.62 seconds between uses, and Dualith's arm laser never drops below 80. A fully condensed Tarantriss can therefore chain web pulls back-to-back with no gap, which turns the skill from an occasional shortcut into a continuous movement mode. If you condense one Pal for a traversal reason, this is the strongest case on the list.
- (strategy) Do not build this expecting a fast mount. Tarantriss sprints 1000, which is 91st of the 115 rideable Pals, and by the time its saddle unlocks at technology 20 you can already have gone faster for less: Direhowl at technology 9 and Chillet at 11 both hit 1050, Univolt at 14 does 1100, and Surfent at 16 does 1440 on water. Even the 20% at full condense only brings it to 1200. The reason to spend the three points is vertical, not horizontal — the double jump and the web line together let you climb cliff faces and cross gaps that a faster ground mount has to go around. Only eight Pals in the game double-jump under a rider, and of those only Eikthyrdeer unlocks earlier, at technology 12; Fenglope waits until 26, Rayhound 30 and Necromus 61. For most of the mid-game this is the cheapest access to that kind of movement, and none of the others pair it with a grapple.
- (strategy) The bill is unusually self-funding. Tarantriss drops 2 to 5 Venom Glands on every kill at a guaranteed rate, so the 30 the saddle asks for come off the same Pals you are hunting to find one worth catching — no separate farming trip, unlike most gear at this tier. Leather, Fiber and Paldium Fragment are all early-game staples you will already be stockpiling. Bench time is the only real cost: at 40,000 work this sits 62nd of the 139 pieces of Pal gear, against a median of 30,000, so it is a set-it-and-go-do-something-else craft rather than a quick one.
