## Basics

- Type: Essential / Essential_PalGear
- Max stack: 9999

## Recipe

- Soralite Ingot x30
- Ice Organ x50
- Paldium Fragment x140

## Notes we already publish

- (use) It sits on the ordinary Technology tree at level 73 for 4 points — no schematic to hunt for, and out of 124 pieces of Pal gear on the tree only seven unlock later than this one. The bench is the opposite problem: it is built on the Pal Gear Workbench, a 2-point technology at level 6 that you almost certainly put up in your first hours and never upgraded, because no upgraded tier of it exists. What does bite is the work value. The craft carries 500,000 work against a 30,000 median across the 139 pieces of Pal gear, and only the Hartalis, Neptilius and Xenolord saddles cost more, so queue it on a bench staffed by your best Handiwork Pals and expect it to sit there.
- (use) The 30 Soralite Ingot are the real wall, not the saddle. The ingot is its own level 66 / 3-point technology, it refines only in the Ancient Furnace, and each one takes 2 Soralite Ore plus 2 Quartz at 700,000 work — so the shopping list underneath this recipe is 60 Soralite Ore and 60 Pure Quartz, and the smelting alone runs to roughly 21 million work, forty times the saddle it feeds. Start that line the moment you clear level 66 rather than when the saddle appears seven levels later.
- (use) Soralite Ore is a Sunreach Isle material and never appears in the base map's rock. There are 226 mapped Soralite nodes, but the fastest bulk route is expeditions and camps: the Sunreach Isle expedition returns 30 to 50 per 60-minute run, and enemy camp loot out there pays 5 to 10 at a 27.7% share per container. Quartz is the easy half — 607 Pure Quartz nodes stand on the map, and the Astral Frost Cavern expedition adds 20 to 40 an hour on top.
- (use) The 50 Ice Organ mostly pay for themselves while you are hunting the Pal this saddle is for: Bastigor drops 2 to 5 every kill at a guaranteed rate, so the sphere-throwing attempts that get you one to keep also cover a third of the bill. For a standing supply, park a Foxcicle or a Mau Cryst on a Ranch. If you would rather buy them, Caravan, Desert and Dungeon shops all stock them at 300 gold, which prices the full 50 at 15,000 gold, and the PAL Genetic Research Laboratory expedition pays 10 to 20 per 120-minute run. The 140 Paldium Fragment is noise next to either.
- (strategy) Do not spend the 4 points expecting a travel upgrade. Bastigor sprints at 1100 against a 1050 median across the 77 ground mounts, and by level 73 you have long since been able to unlock Necromus and Paladius — saddle technology 61, sprinting 1900 and 1800. What it does own is endurance: 270 stamina where the ground-mount median is 150, with only five Pals in the game carrying more. It holds a sprint far longer than the top speed suggests, which makes it a good hauler around a base and the wrong pick for crossing the map.
