- (use) Every crafting bench in the game accepts this recipe, starting with the Primitive Workbench you build in the first hour — unlocking the technology is the only requirement, so there is no station to upgrade before you can make one.
- (use) The craft job is 1,000 work units against 10,000 for [[item:Spear_2]], so a bench turns out ten Stone Spears in the time it takes to finish one Metal Spear. Queue two or three and swap on the fly rather than nursing durability on a single one.
- (strategy) Treat it as the bridge weapon until copper smelting comes online: [[item:Spear_2]] more than doubles the damage at 80 for Wood x27, Stone x12 and CopperIngot x10, and [[item:Spear_3]] jumps to 310. Once either is available, wood and stone are better spent on base materials than on more Stone Spears.
