# Meowmere

[Tides of Terraria] Legend has it Croajiro hauled this sword back from a distant land, for reasons nobody can explain. Each swing sends out a cat projectile that bounces around striking enemies.

## Notes we already publish

- (use) Meowmere is built once and never improves. The other Tides of Terraria swords — Terra Blade, Terraprisma and Excalibur — each exist in five schematic rarities that climb with every copy you find, but there is no Meowmere schematic at any rarity. The only stronger version is [[item:YakushimaBlade005]], and that one is a Moon Lord raid reward rather than anything you can craft, so farming chests for an upgraded roll of this sword is wasted time.
- (use) Unlike most ancient technology, nothing in the recipe needs Ancient Civilization Parts — 22 each of Ingot, Paldium Fragment and Coal is all it costs in materials. The real price is the 2 ancient technology points at level 30, so decide against your other ancient unlocks first; the mats themselves are a single smelting run.
- (strategy) At 200 attack it is the weakest-hitting of the Terraria blades — a base-rarity Excalibur already swings for 360. What you are paying for is the bouncing cat projectile, which puts damage on targets you have not closed on yet, so it works as a poke option against fliers and skittish Pals rather than as a raw damage upgrade. Its 2222 durability means it survives that chip-damage role for a long time before repairs.
