# Lovander

It spends its days chasing after anyone who might give it a night of love. Other Pals were the only targets at first, but its debauchery has come to include humans in recent years.

## Notes we already publish

- (drops) Four of the five lines on that table exist on no other Pal. Checked across all 288 drop sheets, nothing else in the game drops Cake, Memory Wiping Medicine, Suspicious Juice or Strange Juice — for all four, this is the sole Pal source. Each sits at its own 1% roll, so a defeated Lovander pays out one of the four about 4% of the time, roughly one in 25, and a specific one averages 100 kills. The 2 to 4 Mushrooms are the only part of the haul you can count on.
- (drops) Two of the four are worth going out of your way for. Cake is what a Breeding Farm consumes per egg, and no shop and no chest hands one over: you cook it from 5 Flour, 8 Berries, 7 Milk, 8 Eggs and 2 Honey, and Honey has exactly one source in the whole game, a Beegarde on a Ranch. Memory Wiping Medicine is the only item in the game that refunds your own status points, no merchant stocks that either, and its recipe wants 99 Poppy on top of 50 Horn, 50 Bone and 50 Pal Fluid — Poppy comes off 27 Beautiful Flower nodes in the world or a caravan at 500 gold each, putting the flowers alone near 50,000 gold. Failing that it is a gift from the Desert Town Ambassador, if one wanders in. A night of hunting undercuts both routes.
- (drops) Farm the ordinary night spawns for those, not the boss chamber. The boss version in the Cavern of the Dunes runs a separate sheet — 2 to 4 Ancient Civilization Parts and 2 to 4 Precious Pelt, both guaranteed — and the rare lines are gone from it, with the leftover Cake entry pinned at 0%. So the harder fight is the right target for Ancient Civilization Parts and the wrong one for everything else this Pal is worth killing for.
- (catch) You can skip the hunt and buy one. Lovander sits in a Pal merchant's stock list, one of eight species in that pool, and the stock there is sold at level 42 to 48 — above the level 30 to 42 the wild ones roam at. That is the better route if you want the body for a condenser stack or a base slot, since a bought one starts higher than anything the island will hand you; it is the worse route if you want the drops, which only come off the ones you fight.
