# Penking Lux

Taking on electricity to hunt better underwater changed its color, and Pengullet's affection went with it. Oddly, Pengullet Lux now trails it as a loyal follower.

## Notes we already publish

- (catch) The dots on the map here are fishing spots, not a walking route. All 252 of them collapse onto 28 pieces of water — each spot is ringed by nine dots that sit within ten metres of it — and Penking Lux is in no overworld and no cavern spawn table, so there is nothing to creep up on with a sphere. The rod is the whole encounter: cast at a marked spot and whatever the pool rolls is what you get to fight.
- (catch) Phantom Isle is the cheap way in. The three spots around its shipwreck hook this Pal at level 30 to 40, and the closest one sits roughly 100 m from the Phantom Isle statue. Every other option hands you a much older one — the 23 spots ringing Sakurajima and the two inside the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary, out past Deep Sand Dunes, all sit in the level 50 to 55 band. Same catch, twenty levels less health to grind down first.
- (catch) How often the hook is actually this Pal depends on which pool you cast into. The two inland Sakurajima spots weight it at about a third of their whole table, the coastal Sakurajima ones at roughly a ninth, and the Phantom Isle shipwreck pool at around one in fifteen. Shadow size tells you what is on the line before you commit: a small shadow is the ordinary Pal, a medium or large one is the alpha. And if the travel is the tedious part, a Fishing Pond at base rolls it as 7.3% of the large-shadow pool at level 36 to 48, plus 0.4% for the alpha, which turns a Sakurajima expedition into something that happens while you do other things.
- (use) It is the only Pal in the game that can run a generator and swing at an ore node. Nothing else in the Paldeck carries Generating Electricity and Mining together at all — every other electric worker leaves the ore to somebody else — and this one holds rank 3 in both, adds Transporting 3 on top, and eats 4 food units doing it. In a base short on slots that is two Pals folded into one.
