Dog Coin comes out of the ground: there are 128 dog coin nodes on the Palpagos Islands, and each one grows back a while after you break it, so a good cluster is worth remembering.
2 Pals drop Dog Coin when defeated or captured, which is usually the faster route if you are already out hunting — the drop list below is sorted by how reliably each one gives it up.
It also shows up as world loot — junk hauls while fishing in the Grasslands, junk hauls while fishing in the Forest and junk hauls while fishing in the Desert, and 26 more pools besides, usually 2–8 at a time. Higher-grade chests carry the better rolls, so the ones guarded by a camp are usually worth the detour.
