Boost Gun

Weapon · WeaponHandgun0

A shot from this lifts a team Pal's attack and defense for a while. Aimed at an enemy instead, it just deals damage.

Boost Gun is an early handgun: 20th of 24 by attack, so treat it as a stepping stone, at 250 against the 1,500 of Old Revolver.

No recipe takes it as an ingredient. Whatever you build is the finished article, so there is no reason to hoard spares.

Where to Find Boost Gun

Boost Gun is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.

Using Boost Gun Well

This gun does not run on any of the ammo you already carry. It takes its own dedicated round, Boost Gun Ammo (Boost Gun Ammo), which nothing else in the game consumes, so unlocking the weapon at technology level 25 gets you an 8-weight paperweight until you also queue the rounds. The ammo goes together at a Weapon Workbench in batches of 10 from Copper Ingot x2 and Electric Organ x1 — one batch is a full magazine of 8 plus two spares.

Electric Organ is the only line in the ammo recipe that gates you; copper is a base-tier smelt. One organ buys ten rounds, which makes the arithmetic easy: Sparkit (Sparkit) hands over 1-2 per kill at a guaranteed rate and is a low-level farm, Grizzbolt (Grizzbolt) gives 2-4, and Prixter Lux (Prixter Lux) tops the table at 4-5 — a single Prixter Lux sweep is 40 to 50 rounds. At 0.025 weight each and a 9999 stack cap the ammo costs you nothing to haul, so build the buff rounds in bulk during an electric-Pal run rather than one magazine at a time before a boss.

Every Tier of Boost Gun

The same piece exists at 3 rarities, and the gap is not cosmetic: attack runs 250 to 250, a 1x swing. Which one you end up with is decided by the rarity of the schematic you built from, not by the recipe — so a legendary copy of this is worth more than the next item up built from a common one.

Ammunition Boost Gun Uses

Boost Gun fires Boost Gun Ammo, and nothing else — running dry mid-fight is the usual way this weapon lets you down, so keep the recipe unlocked before you rely on it.

Alternatives and Upgrades

Ballistic Shield matches it exactly at 250 attack — those two differ in what they resist and what they weigh, not in raw attack, so picking between them is a swap rather than an upgrade. The next real step is Makeshift Handgun at 320; below it is Boost Gun at 250.
