Pal Sphere
SpecialWeapon · SPWeaponCaptureBall0★Thrown to capture Pals. The entry-level model, and it only works on low level Pals.
This is where the crafting chain ends — nothing downstream consumes it, so a stockpile earns you nothing.
Details
It weighs almost nothing and stacks to 9,999, so there is no reason not to carry a full stack.
Where to Find Pal Sphere
If you would rather just buy it, the cheapest seller is Caravan Shop at 80 Gold, and 2 other shops stock it too.
It also shows up as world loot — chests in the Grasslands, treasure chests in the Grasslands and junk hauls while fishing in the Grasslands, and 2 more pools besides, usually 1–3 at a time. Higher-grade chests carry the better rolls, so the ones guarded by a camp are usually worth the detour.
Sending a team on the Verdant Hollow expedition brings some back without you leaving base.
Chests inside 3 caverns, including Hillside Cavern and Isolated Island Cavern, can hold it as well.

Using Pal Sphere Well
Each one costs a single Paldium Fragment, and that is exactly why you should not mass-produce them. Paldium is also the gate on every tier above: the Mega Sphere (Mega Sphere) at technology level 14 and the Giga Sphere (Giga Sphere) at 20 both want fragments of their own, and fragments come from a small number of shoreline nodes and Pal drops. A drawer of 300 base spheres is a drawer of Megas you did not build. Craft in batches of twenty or so, and let the merchants cover the gap at 80 Gold each when you are flush and short on ore time.
Ranching for spheres does not work the way it is usually described. Vixy is the only ranch Pal in the game with no fixed product line — where the others turn out one guaranteed item, its digging returns a random pull, so anything it hands you is a bonus rather than a supply you can plan a catching trip around. If you want a predictable sphere income, the Verdant Hollow expedition returns 5-10 per 30-minute run for no materials at all, and it scales with how many teams you have out.
There is a long-standing timing bug that lets the base sphere pay for a better one. Carry stacks of both: hold aim with the expensive sphere equipped, throw it, then cycle your active sphere back to the plain Pal Sphere while the throw is still in the air. The catch resolves on the sphere that actually left your hand, but the game bills the slot you are holding when it lands, so the counter that drops by one is the 80 Gold sphere and not your Legendary Sphere or Ultimate Sphere. Nothing is duplicated — you still spend one sphere per throw — so treat this as a way to stretch a small stack of high tiers across a legendary hunt rather than a source of free spheres. It lives entirely in input timing, which means a bad swap wastes the good sphere outright and a patch can close it without warning; keep a real reserve of the tier you are relying on.
Every hostile human on the map carries spheres, which is the acquisition route most players never look at. Hunters, poachers, Syndicate crews, guards, and the travelling traders all share one loot line: a 40% roll for 1-2 Pal Spheres on defeat, on top of the gold they carry. The raider variants that attack your base run an upgraded version of that same table where the sphere roll is a guaranteed 1-2, so a wave you beat back at home funds the next stretch of catching without touching your paldium.
