Using Paldium Fragment Well

Paldium is manufacturable, not just minable. The Crusher sits on the Technology tree at level 8 — long before your first tower — and converts 5 Stone into 1 Paldium Fragment. Pair it with a Stone Pit and the supply stops depending on node respawns entirely. Two other inputs run the same conversion in our recipe data: 2 Ore also comes out as 1 fragment, and 1 Meteorite Fragment comes out as 3, which is the densest ratio of the three by a wide margin.

Price the stone cost before you assume mining is faster. At 5 Stone per fragment a Pal Sphere is 5 Stone, a Giga Sphere is 10, an Ultra or Legendary Sphere is 25, and an Ancient Sphere is 150. A single stone node run covers a stack of low-tier spheres, so the Crusher is a genuine early-game answer to running dry mid-hunt; it stops being the cheap option once you are crafting the ancient tiers in bulk.

Spheres convert back to paldium at exactly the rate they were built at — Pal and Mega return 1, Giga 2, Hyper 3, Ultra and Legendary 5, Ultimate 10, Exotic 15, Sol and Ancient 30. The paldium round trip is lossless, so a chest of outgrown low-tier spheres is a reserve rather than dead weight. What you do not get back is everything else that went in: the copper, the ingots, the fine wood and the stone are all forfeit. Break down spheres you are certain you will never throw, and leave the rest assembled.
