Where to Find Ring of Water Resistance
The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure chests in the Feybreak at 3.4% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
The recipe on this page goes together at the High-Quality Workbench, and every material is stock early-game supply. A Rare copy exists too, and nothing crafts it directly — it needs the Ring of Water Resistance Schematic (Ring of Water Resistance Schematic), which only shows up on grade 5 chest tables, all of them in Feybreak: 3.45% from treasure chests in Feybreak Cavern, 1.18% from the oil rig crates, 0.19% from ordinary Feybreak field chests. That is roughly 29 cavern chests, 85 rig crates or 520 field chests per copy, so the cavern is the only one of the three worth a deliberate farm.
Using Ring of Water Resistance Well
The item text undersells this badly. The ring carries Water Damage Reduction Lv. 3 — a flat 30% cut to every point of Water damage that lands on you, not the token amount "slightly reduces" implies. There is no condition on it: no HP threshold, no stance, no partner Pal requirement. It runs for as long as the ring sits in an accessory slot, and it is the player-side line, separate from the Waterproof trait a Pal can roll, which is only 10%.
Do not chase the schematic for defence. Both upgrade steps (Ring of Water Resistance +1 and Ring of Water Resistance +2) carry the exact same Water Damage Reduction Lv. 3 at the same weight of 2 — the rarer paper moves the label and the sell price, and nothing your health bar registers. Craft the plain ring and treat it as a swap-in rather than a permanent slot: it earns its place against Water alphas such as Penking, Azurobe, Relaxaurus and Jormuntide, and on coastal and ocean sweeps where nearly everything shooting at you is Water. In any fight that is not built on Water damage it is two units of dead weight.

Schematics That Unlock Ring of Water Resistance
Ring of Water Resistance is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
Fastest route. The top-tier Ring of Water Resistance schematic is worth hunting directly — treasure chests in the Feybreak is its best source, at roughly 29 containers a copy. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
