Solmora Saddle

Essential · Essential_PalGear4

Riding gear that makes Solmora safe to mount.

Nothing is crafted from it — it is an end product, so anything you make is meant to be used rather than banked as a component.

Where to Find Solmora Saddle

Solmora Saddle is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.

Using Solmora Saddle Well

The recipe is a Technology entry at level 65 for 3 points with no prerequisite technology above it, so the only real gate is the level. The craft itself is light — 20,000 work, half what the Braloha Saddle carries and well under the 30,000 median for Pal gear — and Leather, Cloth and Paldium Fragment are camp stock by the sixties. The one line that can stall you is the 10 Coralum Ingot: Coralum Ingot is its own level 62 technology, and the ore behind it never comes out of a rock face. Coralum Ore is seabed loot — oil rig crates, sea base enemy camps in Sakurajima and Feybreak, and the Sunreach Isle expeditions — so start that pipeline three levels before the saddle unlocks or the recipe sits there unbuildable.

It comes off the Pal Gear Workbench, the level 6 two-point structure you built for your first saddle, and there is no upgraded tier of that bench anywhere in the game — a level 65 saddle is made on the same starter table as a level 5 one. The bench takes any Pal with Handiwork rank 1 or better, so put your best Handiwork bodies on it before queuing rather than letting one Lamball chip at 20,000 work.

This saddle fits Solmora only. Solmora Lux needs the Solmora Lux Saddle, a separate technology at level 66 for 4 points on a heavier recipe — 12 Coralum Ingot, 20 Electric Organ and 30 Paldium Fragment. The two Pals move on identical numbers, so the extra level and extra point are entirely the skill swap, and the swap favours the variant: Shocking Fish runs the same fishing-talent stat at 74 / 76 / 78 / 80 / 82%. If you are hunting the fishing buff and have a route to either Pal, the Lux line is the stronger version of the same effect.

Do not spend the points expecting a travel upgrade. Solmora swims at 1,300 sprint, sixth of the nine water mounts, and rides at 900 on land with 220 stamina. The comparison that matters is one level below it: the Neptilius Saddle unlocks at 64 for the same 3 points and Neptilius swims 2,000, over half again as fast. If crossing water quickly is the goal, that technology is strictly the better purchase and this one adds nothing.

What the 3 points actually buy is Charming Fish, and it is a Pal-farming tool rather than a mount perk. With Solmora out, a Pal you reel in has a 70% chance of coming up with good talents, and only Solmora and Solmora Lux carry that stat anywhere in the partner skill table — nothing else in the game influences the quality of what you fish. Since 78 different Pals can be fished out of the water, that turns fishing into a viable route to high-talent breeding stock instead of a food chore. The ladder is flat, though: 70 / 72 / 74 / 76 / 80% across condense ranks, so an uncondensed Solmora already delivers most of it and four extra copies buy ten percentage points. Catch one, saddle it, and spend your condensing elsewhere.

Solmora SaddleSolmora's Gear

Solmora Saddle is Solmora's own gear — no other Pal can equip it, and Solmora cannot be ridden or put to work in its geared role until you have this in your inventory.

Equipping it turns on Solmora's partner skill, Charming Fish.

Solmora is Water, which is what decides where it is worth taking — the gear does not change its typing, only what you can do with it.
