Where to Find Ring of Dark Resistance

The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure chests in the Feybreak at 3.4% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.

Using Ring of Dark Resistance Well

The passive on the ring is Element Resist Dark 3, worth a flat 30% cut to incoming Dark damage. It is always on while the ring sits in an accessory slot — no trigger, no cooldown, nothing to activate.

Ring of Dark Resistance +1 and Ring of Dark Resistance +2 carry the same Element Resist Dark 3 passive, so refining does not push the 30% any higher. Refine for the durability and the slot roll, not for extra Dark mitigation.

This is the ring to slot before a Bellanoir or Bellanoir Libero raid — both are pure Dark, so every attack in those fights is reduced by the full 30%.

If Elphidran Ring is already in your box, wear that instead: the Elphidran Ring runs Element Resist Dark 4 for 35% and throws a Dragon damage boost on your active Pal in the same slot.

You cannot craft this until the schematic — Ring of Dark Resistance Schematic — is in hand, so stockpiling the Ingot, Bone, Venom Gland and Paldium Fragment gets you nowhere on its own. The schematic is a Grade 5 chest roll: about 3.4% from treasure chests in Feybreak Cavern, about 1.2% from the oil rig crates, and about 0.19% from ordinary chests elsewhere on Feybreak. Feybreak Cavern is the run worth repeating.

Ring of Dark Resistance is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.

Fastest route. The top-tier Ring of Dark Resistance schematic is worth hunting directly — treasure chests in the Feybreak is its best source, at roughly 29 containers a copy. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
