The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure chests in the Sunreach Isle at 2.4% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
Using Silvegis Emblem Well
No technology level unlocks this one. The recipe stays greyed out until Silvegis Emblem Schematic is in your inventory, so stockpiling the 20 Refined Ingot, 10 Chromite, 35 Paldium Fragment and 30 Ancient Bone buys you nothing on its own — find the plan first, then gather.
Crafting eats 400,000 work units, one of the longest single jobs in the game. Put your strongest Handiwork pals on the line before you queue it and leave the base running; the payoff is a Lv. 4 Defense boost that applies twice over, once to you and once to whichever Pal is out fighting, so the partner half is dead weight if you play with your team boxed.
Every route to the schematic is a random Grade 5 pull, and the Sunreach Isle treasure chests are clearly the best of them at roughly 2.4% of their table — around twelve times the ordinary Sunreach Isle chests, which sit near 0.19%. The large oil rig crates land in between at about 1%. Chests in the Sunreach Skies caverns feed the same good table, so clear those on every pass.
The attack-side twin, Dogen Emblem, is not a separate farm. Dogen Emblem Schematic sits in the exact same chest tables at the exact same weights, so a single Sunreach Isle or oil rig run is rolling for both emblems at once.

Those figures apply to the Pal out of its sphere and fighting beside you, not to your own character — the item does nothing while your team is in storage.
