Where to Find Wumpo Charm
The recipe is not on the Technology tree — it is locked behind a schematic you have to find first. The best single source is treasure chests in the Sunreach Isle at 2.4% per container, and the table below lists every tier and where each one drops.
Using Wumpo Charm Well
Nothing in the tech tree unlocks this. The recipe only shows up while the Wumpo Charm Schematic (Wumpo Charm Schematic) is in your inventory, and it appears on the Production Assembly Line. Hunting the tech list for it is wasted time — the materials are the easy half, the paper is the gate.
What this actually saves you is a slot. The cold half is the same Cold Resistance Lv. 3 that Thermal Undershirt gives for 21,960, and the ice half is one rung above the Lv. 3 on Ring of Ice Resistance at 18,480 — both of those are High-Quality Workbench items you can build the day you find the bench. The charm folds them into one accessory at 158,040. If you have spare accessory slots, the two cheap pieces cover most of the same ground without a drop hunt.
Check your chest piece before you commit the slot. Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor and Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor already carry Cold Resistance Lv. 3 on their own, so on either of those the charm's cold line is buying you nothing and only the Ice Lv. 4 is doing work. Every other cold-line armor tops out at Lv. 2, and that is where the charm earns its cost.
The same Ice Damage Reduction Lv. 4 also sits on Faleris Ring, off the same Production Assembly Line and valued at 34,080. It trades the cold resistance for a Fire boost on your out Pal instead. If you are heading into an ice fight rather than an ice biome — warm enough that temperature is not the problem — that ring gives you the identical mitigation and hands the second passive to your Pal.
Three grade 5 chest pools carry the schematic and none of them sell it. Crates in the large oil rig are the best roll at 0.98%, about one copy per 102 crates. The two Sky Island chest pools pay 0.146% and 0.116% — roughly one per 685 and one per 862 opens. Farm the rig; the islands are seven to eight times the travel for the same drop. There is also a single fixed reward entry in the world that hands the schematic over outright, bundled with 35 Dog Coins, so one guaranteed copy exists outside the RNG.

Schematics That Unlock Wumpo Charm
Wumpo Charm is not learned from the Technology tree — you need a schematic for it. One schematic grants the recipe, and they are world loot — chests, boss Pals and the late-game pools — rather than anything you research. Higher-rarity copies of the same schematic raise the quality of what you end up crafting.
Fastest route. The top-tier Wumpo Charm schematic is worth hunting directly — treasure chests in the Sunreach Isle is its best source, at roughly 42 containers a copy. Schematics fuse five-to-one, so a lower tier with better odds can beat the top tier outright. Counts are containers of that source, not time.
