Where to Find Gildane Saddle
Gildane Saddle is not something you find lying around — you craft it, and the recipe is below.
Using Gildane Saddle Well
Sandstorm's Blessing is aimed at you, not at Gildane, which makes it read differently from almost every other partner skill on the site. Two effects fire together and both are flagged to the trainer: your own attacks are retyped to Ground, and your Shot Attack goes up 5% at condense rank 1, then 7, 10, 14 and 20% at rank 5. Neither one is live unless you are actually in the saddle — Gildane deployed beside you, sitting in reserve or working a base switches the whole skill off, so this is a mount buff in the strict sense and there is no passive value in owning the Pal. Two further limits the tooltip skips: the stat line is Shot Attack specifically, so a bow or a gun collects the bonus and a melee weapon collects only the retyping, and the effect is marked non-stacking, so a second Gildane in the party adds nothing.
Eighteen Pals carry a saddle that retypes the rider's damage, and Gildane is the only one in the game that converts to Ground. That exclusivity is worth less than it sounds, because Ground beats Electric and nothing else, and Electric is joint-rarest in the Paldeck at 25 species — the same pool the Ice conversions buy. For contrast, riding Quivern Botan retypes you to Grass and puts 88 Pals inside the bonus, and Pyrin or Ragnahawk retype you to Fire for 84. Gildane earns its slot when you already know you are going after something Electric — Grizzbolt, Orserk, Relaxaurus Lux, Helzephyr Lux — rather than as the mount you keep saddled by default. The damage half is the family's standard rate: 16 of the 18 run exactly 5/7/10/14/20, and only Frostallion and Frostallion Noct break it, at 10/14/20/28/40 with a status effect stapled on.
As a ride, this is the stamina pick among the retyping mounts. Gildane sprints 1260 on 200 stamina; every other Ground-type conversion mount — Pyrin, Pyrin Noct, Chillet, Chillet Ignis, Univolt Cryst — sits at exactly 100, so Pyrin's 1300 sprint is 40 faster and empties in half the distance. The flying alternatives unlocked by level 54 do not close it either: Ragnahawk is 1300 on 150, Helzephyr Lux 1100 on 170. Frostallion beats Gildane on every axis at once, but its saddle is eight technology levels later at 62 and costs 5 points against this one's 3, which is exactly the window Gildane is built for. Budget bench time rather than materials — 40 Leather, 20 High Quality Cloth and 60 Paldium Fragment is a trivial bill for level 54, while the 100,000 work puts this in the heaviest quarter of the game's 139 pieces of Pal gear against a 30,000 median. Queue it before you log off, not when you want to ride.
Gildane Saddle — Gildane's Gear
Gildane Saddle is Gildane's own gear — no other Pal can equip it, and Gildane cannot be ridden or put to work in its geared role until you have this in your inventory.
Equipping it turns on Gildane's partner skill, Sandstorm's Blessing.
Gildane is Ground, which is what decides where it is worth taking — the gear does not change its typing, only what you can do with it.
